Now to the really cool part. Tonight while I was playing my game, my husband was watching a movie, and something in it caught my attention, so I hit the pause button. When I turned to look back at my game, I saw this.
I spotted a heap of shells on the beach, one of them an ordinary conch. My sim blew it, but nothing happened.
An event popped up in Ohan'ali town. When I saw the turtle banners I thought, could it be the baby turtle event already? But it was a children's event, in which a swing appeared in the shallow water. I would never have thought of trying to place a swing in the ocean!
@MirkaKaroliina you are so lucky! I lost count of how many times my sim explored that cave and... no kelp
I decided that, instead of turning her into a mermaid, I'm gonna make one and have one of my male sims fall in love with her.
She had to explore it like 50 times until she found the kelp 😄 The picture on the wall started to magically repair itself and it was after the action for exploring the waters in the cave appeared (or something like that, my game is in Finnish so I don't know what it is in English) that she was able to find some.
She is awesome, but there's something so funny about this. It happened when the vampires GP came out too; we can make our own sims to our heart's content, yet we wanna play with the premades; it's a bit like when a cat/child/other small life form loses interest in a new toy in favour of playing in the box it came in.
Depends on the premades. And even some of the extra Maxis ones.
Most I don't care about, but there are some I just have to have in the game and love.

Those are the ones I really care about. The rest range from "meh" to "oh, you died? Who were you again?".
What are you guys using to post screenshots? I've been using tinypic but for some reason on my new computer tinypic pictures won't show up. They post fine but it's going to be a bit of a pain posting pictures from one computer and then going on to my phone just to view them and make sure they showed up okay. And yet I can see all yours fine on my phone so I'm assuming you're posting them from a different site or somewhere else.
Imgur after they changed so you can host unlimited images about two years ago.
I love this thread so much!! Thank you all for posting your beautiful pictures; it's giving me a lot of inspiration for creating my own world. Love especially the beach restaurant posted of page 1 The island itself reminds me of the purchasable world Sunlit Tides we got in TS3. Used to play there a lot. Plan to play as much on this island too, lol.
Based on a mythological couple..I think is how I would say that I seem to have forgotten his white band but really I added that detail after and forgot he does have a reminder of her on his back for when they are separated though. Also mermaids just cause.

And a question about the game: I've noticed some pictures seem to have a slightly different camera angle (deeper to the ground) than what I'm used to. Is that something you can change by adjusting a specific file? I remember you could adjust the camera values in Sims 2.

2 of the new harvestibles have new renders!. The coconut plant is a very detailed palmtree en miniature (not in my pic) and the pineapple looks like the real life version! (in German in my pic, I wanted to show a friend and mixed languages^^)

I have also noticed this! I love that! I thought that much like in TS3 they'd be limited by the BG models of the plants but nope! They made new ones for the pineapple plant and the coconut tree!
This gives me hope that they'll make actual corn plants, and not be like in TS3 where they had the same model as the tomato plant etc.
