hi all, since I've been re-creating replicas of Sears home kits lately, I wanted to make a separate topic from my original build homes.
here's a history of kit homes
"Kit houses, also known as mill-cut houses, pre-cut houses, ready-cut houses, mail order homes, or catalog homes, were a type of housing that was popular in the United States and Canada and elsewhere in the first half of the 20th century.[1] Kit house manufacturers sold houses in many different plans and styles, from simple bungalows to imposing Colonials, and supplied at a fixed price all materials needed for construction of a particular house, but typically excluding brick, concrete, or masonry (such as would be needed for laying a foundation, which the customer would have to arrange to have done locally)."
here's more info on Wikipedia -->

if you want to request a replica of a Real life house kit (vintage floor plans only), feel free to inbox me.
I hope you will enjoy them!

3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths. work shed and basement with laundry room.
only a couple things that are not accurate from the RL floorplan is the front big windows and the "L shape" stairs. I try my best to make it accurate as possible and had to move the pantry around the stairs and made a powder room.

the only one is not accurate is a basement because I can't put 2 stairs at once.
3 bedrooms, 1 bath. nice inviting back yard patio for block parties.

the only thing is not accurate is that I needed to add a bathroom upstairs where the floor plan say's "attic" (back in the day, Sears also sell's outhouses too and have to purchase them separate from Kit homes before they add indoor bathrooms in early 20s)
and also have to add a half bath where the "Pantry" is by the kitchen.
beds, 1 1/2 baths, floral garden and a nice back yard.

this is a different kit home by a family company in Michigan (U.S.A) called J.H. Daverman & son. this floor plan was based on a Munsey's magazine in 1908. everything is accurate except a basement. there was a bug of putting a basement after the walls up and have to delete it. o well, let's pretend that there's no basement put in.
3 beds, 2 baths. living room with fireplace and back patio deck.

requested by a facebook group member in one of my groups
the only room is not really accurate are the stairs leading to the basement with the back door. I couldn't put the door to where the foundation is, so I had to make walls around the stairs.
2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, dining room, nice big kitchen and basement with custom basegame laundry room. big backyard with an in-ground pool.

same as "The Agyle" the only room is not really accurate are the stairs leading to the basement with the back door. I couldn't put the door to where the foundation is, so I had to make walls around the stairs to the back door.
2 bedrooms, 1 bath, nice open living room and dining room area with big screen TV. good size kitchen and #basement big open back yard and nice front porch for sims to have fresh air.

thank you Rosemow, they are a part of History and wanted to make replicas as I can in game for simmer's that lives or grew up in those homes in real life. most of them are so beautiful and I love to challenge myself to build them as accurate as I can in game.
thank you and welcome to the forums!
sorry for a late reply but welcome to the forums. there's more to come.
thank you so much! what model of a Sears home do they have?
the only one thing that's not accuate are the "L" shape stairs.

thank you so much Rosemow, this is my second time doing a shabby chic theme in one of my homes.
thank you so much Brenleedee, I always look and search at the build items in game that look's similar to the features of the floor plans and RL pictures in google, and I also go to a Sears kit group as well on facebook. there are so many floor plans to build and also I challenge myself to make them accurate as possible with the items I have. I am slowly buying the expansion packs for more items, sometimes I have to set a floorplan aside, so when I buy a pack I need that item for that build. but I really do enjoy making replicas in the game.
only a few things are not accurate is the "L" shape stairs, no door that leads to the stairs because you can't put a door by it and I had to put 2 small windows then one on the middle part of the house, it didn't balance well with one window.
5 bedrooms, 2 baths, office for a working sim and a small pantry for a maid or butler. one of the biggest family home from 1916

thank you, and yes I'm slowly getting the expansion packs also that has the items close to the real life floorplans.
there are a couple things that are not accurate are the "L" shape stairs and I had to convert the pantry to the part of the kitchen because of space.
3 bedrooms, 3 baths, basement with custom basegame laundry room and den with bar, attic with bathroom, garage and pool.
