I need help. I am trying to figure out how challenges work and what the point system means. I have been playing sims for a long time and have no knowledge about it. Can someone help explain it to me? I just did the randomgenetic challenge but in the hashtag mine doesn't show up.

Hello
The challenges listed here are created by players. People creating challenges use actions, aspirations and other goals in the game to offer a new way to play the game. Each challenge is different and some use a point system and others (like myself) do not track points. It would be best to ask the person who created the challenge how theirs works.
Just have fun playing.
So excited I found this forum... as I've been reading through the challenges, I realize that I was adding little quirks and rules to my games for years and I see that other people have had the same ideas and added them as challenges... I really wish I would've found this 15 years ago when I first started playing the Sims... but I am really enjoying reading all the challenges and finding out more about them.. great job, whoever compiled all of these!

@Meeshelby is the queen of compilation. She does a fantastic job of sorting thru and categorizing a massive amount of challenges.
I had some fun with Documentig the Genetic Lottery Challenge. Here's the link to the blog post aritsukatsblog. blogspot. com /2019/02/documenting-genetic-lottery-sims-4.html

I hope someone can help me. I came across a challenge just last week offering big prizes ($100 and free packs), and I completely forgot to download the room/lot. And now I can't remember who offered the challenge. They want a three-bedroom, open plan house. Anyway, if anyone happens to know who is running that challenge, could you give me her handle? Or the URL to the challenge? I would greatly appreciate it. I'm almost finished with my entry!
I did Random genetics challenge 2.0, you can see it in my blog - aritsukatsblog. blogspot. com/2019/02/the-sims-4-random-genetics-challenge-20.html - and on Youtube - www. youtube. com/watch?v=Q_-3Nof47rI

No clue but I would guess it was a limited time giveaway challenge.

Another big thank you going out to @rosemow for giving me a link to this thread. I had no idea there were so many challenges! I suddenly feel as though I have way too much I want to do and way too little time. The first gameplay challenge I'm going to try is Shipwrecked by Jen (sorry I couldn't find her username) It reminds me of Sims Castaway, one of my all time favorites. You all are so creative! <3 <3 <3

I've never tried a challenge...been playing the Sims since the beginning. Maybe it's time to try?
@MamaSimMacho, I'd highly recommend giving a challenge a try! I'm playing challenges almost exclusively now. They encourage me to try things that are outside of my normal style of play, and I've learned a lot along the way.
Since I've never done a challenge before, can anyone recommend a relatively simple one to get me started? I'm a "normal" game player, no aliens, no vampires (even though I have ALL game packs). I love playing and writing stories, but the challenge sounds like fun!

Hi @MamaSimMacho! I think it would be helpful if you could narrow it down a little bit by thinking about what you like to do in the Sims. Do you love toddlers or pets / hate them, rather spend your time creating a sim than building a house, prefer to download everything from the gallery and just play? Would you prefer a short challenge that'll give you a sense of completion or a legacy-type that goes on for generations? If you can point us in a direction, choosing a challenge may be easier.
For example, I'm a terrible builder, so I avoid those types of challenges. I find myself interested more in game play challenges that make me try new careers or play styles or simply take some of the control out of my hands (because I'm a control freak ). I prefer shorter challenges because I get bored easily. You can see a few of the challenges I've undertaken so far. The easiest of the three was the Abandoned Kids Challenge, but there are others that are more simple, too, that I'm sure others can recommend. Hope that helps!
Thank you @LilyParker. I'm not a builder, either. I always get my buildings from the gallery...those that are WAY more patient and talented than I am when it comes to creating beautiful homes and businesses. I'm more about the lives and stories of the sims. I'm going to find a short, simple challenge to try first, and see how I like it. I will let you know!! Thanks again for the info!!
