I installed the sims 4 on my D drive where there is available space (This PC/New Volume(D:)/Program Files(x86)/Origin Games/Sims 4) but when I started the game it created a new Electronic Arts folder in my C drive (This PC/Local Disk C:)/Users/Shallon/Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 4). The reason this is a problem is because I like to download mods and my C drive has no room for that (I can't remember how much GB of custom content I had before I removed it but it was A LOT lol), and I think it caused my game to "run out of memory", I'm not sure what that means but I started to get popups about that when playing the game. Also I tried dragging the "Electronic Arts" folder from my C drive to my D drive into the "Origin Games" folder but it caused my game to uninstall for some reason, I had to reinstall my game. So my question is how do I move the "Electronic Arts" or even just the "Mods" folder from my C drive to my D drive?
I looked up this question but I think the answer I found isn't up to date for Windows 10 Home version 1703, It said to right click on the folder I want to move and go to properties and click on the location tab but the problem is I don't have a location tab. Here's the question:
http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=27082.0 .And here's what mine looks like, there is no location tab:
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I appreciate any kind of help!

You need to move the whole Documents folder to the D drive. You are unable to just move the electronic arts folder.

I don't know if I did it wrong but I moved the Documents to drive D and when I opened the game all my saves and mods were gone
(Don't worry I made a backup of my sims 4 saves/mods lol)
I posted a link to a video tutorial in the above post and I am not sure if you saw iit.

Is there another way to get my mods on my D drive and have it actually work? I have tried what you suggested multiple times and I even had my computer savvy dad help me but it just won't work...
I followed the video too.
Please someone tell me there is another way to do this lol
Edit: And yes my saves and mods were in the correct folder.

It is great that your Dad was able to put your sims 4 folder on One Drive, so that clears up space for you He is a caring and kind Dad
Just a little note. Some simmers have had issues when their sims 4 folder was on One Drive.

In this article posted by crinrict, she writes about using One Drive in the section of the article called " Suggestions : About 1 "

Thanks for letting me know! I really appreciate that. What if I just make a backup saves folder on my desktop and every time I'm finished playing the game I make sure to make another copy of my saves folder to my desktop (and a USB stick)? Is that a good plan or is there something else I should do or watch out for?

Hello @CaitMarie12
This video explains how to move your Documents folder so that is no longer on the C drive and is now on another drive. It would be best to move the folder to another internal hard drive not an external hard drive

Im having the same problem but Ive tried moving my documents already, im using a external hd btw
Hello.
There can be issues when using an external hard drive. It would be best to use another inner hard drive.

Does this also work if C: is a SSD and D: is a HDD?
To be clear, this is the original path to my Sims 4 Mods directory ("directory" is a synonym for "folder"):
"C:\Users\testpc\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods"
Step 1 - create the new location:
copy your Mods directory (or whichever directory you wish) to your desired location. Just remember the file path to your new Mods location.
When I was done copying, I had the following file path structure:
"E:\Sims 4 Mods\Mods"
Step 2 - backup your original:
edit your original Mods directory's name, and append the following phrase to that directory's name
~original
So my Mods directory was renamed to Mods~original
[Do not run the game, as a new Mods directory will be created, and you will not be able to create a junction link.]
Step 3 - open the command prompt:
You will need to open the command prompt, and I recommend doing so as the administrator (I don't know your permissions scheme, so running as the administrator may avoid errors for some users). If you don't know how to run the command prompt, then: open the windows start button, and in search, type the following phrase: command prompt. You can figure it out from there.
Step 4 - execute the instructions:
I ran the following command to lead "The Sims 4" program to its new Mods folder location:
Mklink /J "C:\Users\testpc\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods" "E:\Sims 4 Mods\Mods"
The Mklink command has the following structure:
Mklink /J "Old file location" "New File Location"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This web page has info on junction links: http://techgenix.com/folder-redirections-in-windows/
So there IS a way to play my sims 4 cc n mods by moving my mods folder(ea folder) off my c drive And in the cloud?
Any tips on how to do that?
Hello
If you want to move your mods folder to another location, you have to move your whole Documents folder to another drive on your computer
