No. I once made a friend in CAS at her request, but would never play her. Never play myself in the Sims either (though I made myself for fun a few years ago, that's my avatar). I use the game to tell stories, and not ones about myself.
I do have my simself family in my library. It was not too hard, just my husband, teen, and two kids. Now just waiting for EA to make a pack so our family's pets can be represented in-game.

I own parakeets (birds). So far, EA only offers cats, dogs, and rodents.
I made my simself and I did once make my sister. During Sims 3 I made 3 of my 4 friends. I made one of those 3 friends for the Sims 4 (cameo in my Swanson Legacy). But I think next time I re-write this Legacy- i'm going to add all 3 of my friends so there's some more people to mate with.
I created a loose approximation of a friend of mine, and I currently am playing a YA version of myself (as seen in my avatar) and my RL husband in one save, but generally no, I don't make real life people. If we ever get another celebrity pack (hopefully without the game spawning celebrities right and left) I'd add some parodies of celebrities, like the singer Dustin Woodpond (Justin Timberlake) and the Karkrashian sisters (Kardashians).

I did in Sims3. I don't play it often, but it's nice (and sad) to see Mom and Dad wandering round the neighborhood and hanging out in the casino I made. Momma loved her slots, and Dad is usually looking bored and getting a drink or a meal in the cafe I put on the side. They have been gone a bit over two years now.
I haven't in the Sims 4 but in the Sims 3, I did. I created my whole family and all my friends and their families. I had just moved states away from a lot of family and friends so I think that probably had something to do with it.

and we he and the guy whos 10 sim days younger were getting ready to age just for fun i had him hook his sister up with the guy. they were married longer than he was.
