I don't expect them to call it seasons!
they have been naming all packs differently with the sims 4.
i hope they do name it seasons.

One of the gurus assured us that all 4 seasons would be included in a seasons pack and I hope they wouldn't be stupid enough to sell them separately!!

That's not an assurance it's in a single pack but the word seasons was used as a catch-all. It's also not the assurance seasons would be used in every world come to think of it, just the assurance it won't be limited to a single world.
Gotta agree with others who are suggesting the name will be more weather related than seasons related. If they want to diverge from their previous names, which it sounds like they do, then I think that is really the only logical alternative.

Meg only repeated what Daniel had said in the many Q & A's we had with the Devs. He also tweeted it a time or two. You know back in the first year when devs used to actually talk with us and explain things. Of course that was pretty much before EA became "the Secret Service" and squashed any kind of talk not already in the game or a trailer.
Megs said that over on Reddit too just a couple of months ago.

A few proper expansion packs might change that
They were a big thing before the sims 4.
and please EA give the stuff packs a rest. their such terrible quality.
