I'm not even getting so much as an error. I can see the message there's an EP to install, but clicking on it does absolutely NOTHING. If it's simply a matter of waiting, I can do that. But if it's something else, I'd surely like to know what's wrong.
After a long chat with EA... I am still without the ability to install my Pets... was told to wait 1 to 2 days.... what was the point in pre-ordering.... I'm bummed.

Figured out my problem, thanks to rosemow. I removed my Sims4 Game folder and let it regenerate. When I did so, I got a notice that an Pack was downloading.
They reset their game and the ep started to download. Pull your sims 4 folder from documents to desktop. Start your game to generate a new clean sims 4 folder. see if the download will start to work .
I did, I now have the pet world in the worlds, its just lighter than the others ... it says its still "installing" ..... for a while now and I can't play it yet. Origin still won't let me install it... man, this is frustrating. lol
Ok guys, so I had this problem too, and while I was talking to EA support online, I found out what the problem was.
I did the pre-order, and after a week, maybe, I received some emails from Origin saying that the payment wasn't complete, but I dind't listen to it, because on origin it said that I had my game.
Well, I should have listen to it, because the problem was that.
On origin I went to Origin > EA account and payment (I don't know if it says like this, because mine isn't english), and then opens a web page, go to your requests, and then you will see Cats and Dogs there, probably with the Status in process.
Cancel that pre-order, and then buy the game again. I've done that and it works, I'm downlloading that DLC while I'm writting this.

How would I download the extra per-orderd content? I per-ordered it but I'm having the same issue. I would like to play the EP today, but I would also like the DLC.

As far as I know there was no extra pre-order content. Everyone gets the same version whether you pre-ordered or not. If I'm wrong someone please correct me :)
Over at AHQ there are some server issues and as I expected C&D downloads are swamping the servers. Right now it's only 8PM on the west coast of USA so I'm guessing things have not slowed down (yet). Today is Friday and tomorrow is Veteran's Day which is a federal and I believe a postal holiday so your going to be out shopping or saluting (or both). Myself I'm going to the veterans cemetery and on the way home I'll probably do some liquid saluting. Take care and drive safe.

@MaxTheF0X , @scottmeikle98 if you are still having problems downloading C&D even though you pre-ordered it, check to see if the payment went through, it most likely has not, if this is the case cancel the pre-order and then buy it from Origin, you should now be able to download the game.

Hi Bob, If your still seeing the issue over at AHQ tell people to check their pre-order. Some of the payments did not got through. People may have to cancel the pre-order and repurchace the EP
