We invest a lot of money into this game - please fix it!

This game is just so incredibly glitchy and bugs/glitches/problems/issues that have been around for a long time never seem to get fixed. I had not played Sims 4 for months - decided to try again and same old bugs still there - still have the sims sinking into some strange water wormhole if you put the basketball hoop on a home lot - so that is unusable. Still have Sims walking around in the most ridiculous outfits with every accessory - even Llama heads - and with odd and duplicate names. Many of the aspirations and careers have glitches that you have to use a cheat to be able to complete. The list goes on and on and on. The lag gets worse and worse - I even finally had to put laptop mode on, even though I have a relatively new gaming laptop, to be able to play for more than an hour and even then it still lags. The game will not ever quit if you play for any length of time - it will just sit there - I have to restart my computer to be able to use it again. Every pack/patch just seems to make things worse.

The relationship decay is the worst though - get so sick of have to reintroduce a sim to their own child - that is just ridiculous and destroys everything you spent time building up. The latest greatest issue is I had Zoe Patel move in with some of my sims - she got pregnant and when she had the baby - suddenly every relationship she had got set back to zero. I reloaded and tried again - did same thing. Tried again but this time I cheated up her needs and clicked on the bassinet to have the baby instead of waiting it out and then it was fine. OK - so I fixed that after several tries. Then my vampire sim uses her for sustenance (drinks her blood!) and she passes out and it happens again - she loses all of her relationships. I give up! It seems to have something to do with needs being down but I am not sure.

It seems nothing in this game ever really gets fixed - many of us have all the packs and have spent a ton of money on this game and yet it just seems to get worse all the time. I was looking forward to Cats and Dogs - now I can only see more problems added and there are way too many already. I am not playing with any mods or CC - have repaired the game and done all the things we are always told to do over and over and over.

Sorry for the rant but this gets soooooooooooo frustrating. With all the money we invest we should be able to expect a game that is not this screwed up. Makes you feel stupid for ever buying it or playing it. We should not have to depend on modders to fix the game - that is EA's job.

    Hello
I am sorry that you are having the lag.
Could you please post your DxDiag info here, just to see if there may be something simmers can suggest that may help you as you are playing the game on your laptop.
To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, do this :
Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
Type dxdiag in the text field
    Click OK
Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report
Then copy and paste the information from where you saved it, to pastebin https://pastebin.com
and post the link to the file here

The issues you mentioned are affecting many MANY players, myself included, so not sure why you were asked for your Diag. It’s not just you OP.

And yes they do need to get a sense of urgency and fix these issues before I consider giving them any more of my money.

We always ask for a DxDiag. Many are playing on low end computers. They will feel bugs far worse than someone who has a computer that meet requirements

    Hello
The simmer is experiencing lag in their game, and are having quitting issues. By looking at the DxDiag information it can be checked to see if there are hardware issues that may be causing this.

I am not a member of pastebin - can I not just copy/paste here? And the lag is only one issue - the other problems are not due to lag. Being the masochist I am - I reset my Sims 4 folder and repaired and all that stuff again and tried my game again - got the relationship with Zoe back up to propose only to find out that now apparently she is one of those sims you cannot marry because it says she is my employee which she is not! Seriously - even when they say these things were fixed - they are not.

    Hello
You don’t need to have an account with pastebin to use the site.
You can post the Dxdiag infornation here in posts if you would prefer. Either way is okay,

one of the blood drinking options causes sims to forget all their relationships (on purpose), maybe that's what's going on? I haven't had an issue like this in my game

Thanks rosemow. Is there a character count for these posts? Do I need to post the whole Dxdiag? Is there any privacy concerns with posting it?

Cyrus - oh - I did not know that - I never had the issue before and have played several vampires - seems an odd thing to do on purpose but I guess vampires are not exactly supposed to be nice! Thanks - maybe that is the issue there.

You will need to break the information up into a number of posts. It would be best to post all the dxdiag. There isn’t any privacy concerns as the information is not personally identifiable.

Thanks all for looking into it. I keep getting spam blocked so could not post the whole Dxdiag.

Your welcome. Chester is better at reading the older AMD hardware than I am. She should be on the forum soon

You do have a older laptop from 2012 and it could be showing it's age.
technically you should be able to run the game on low/medium settings but not at 1080p which is what your laptop is.
I would suggest using a lower resolution, and have you ever had you laptop cleaned? (the inside) you could be getting higher temperatures which can throttle the cpu which could be causing lag.

Thanks! I have put it in laptop mode and that does help - it will still lag some if I play for a long time. It probably does need to be cleaned because we do have cats and yes - it gets hot playing Sims 4. I thought Sims 4 was designed for lower end computers though - that that is why there is all the culling. I have no problems playing other games like Dragon Age or Witcher. Can't afford a new one right now so will look into getting it cleaned to see if that helps.
Thanks to all for the help - really do appreciate all the people that help out with bugs and the modders that make the game playable - just wish EA would do more to actually fix their own game - the homework glitch is even still there - everyone freezing when someone doing homework talks to anyone - sigh.

If the sim queues up to do homework on their own, I've found that cancelling that and then me queuing them up to do homework stops the freezing when they talk to others. See if that helps with the homework bit.
