For all the criticism I give the sims 4 over certain things, I cannot say I've seen any evidence that no one wants the toddlers SP. Since the launch of toddlers people have been crying out for more content for them particularly cas stuff.

I don't think that it is that players do not want a toddlers EP but more so that they should have been included in the base game and thus received more content through each EP, SP onwards ect. As toddlers came late they are still dry of content and in a way, players are still paying for toddlers through any pack that is made just for them

I agree they should have been in base game but cas items aside I think they came with quite a lot.

It has been like this for a long time now I think. Gone are the days when players had a big new EP to look forward to while SPs where just casual add ons. The lack of big EPs has done little for TS4 and even the GPs get some criticism. Just the way it is I guess

    :disappointed:

I believe stocks have a lot to do with this. Their stocks go up fast when they release a stuff pack. It milking us consumers dry. Something like that.

Only the customers who keep on buying stuff though

The stuff packs seem to just be filler content at the moment to 'keep players interested' until they finally put another EP out and if that disappoints (I predict a few missing pets in the supposed Pets EP) then a new SP will be put out so players think 'oh, cool, a new SP!'

It doesn't work as well as it used to though

I can see Pets in a GP and Cars in and Ep. then another SP, maybe Canning will be next SP. (I hear in sims 3 the store was a big money maker as well)

So base game content such as cars will now have to be paid for? Typical :(

    :disappointed:

Cars was paid in TS2 Nightlife, not counting public transportation, aka carpools and taxis, those were always there I think. TS3 had cars but only the wheels were animated when they were being driven. So...idk...

I am hoping that one day we can get cars that we can get into rather than the 'morph' but also drive around in.

    Maybe one day?

The Toddler Stuff pack has been the only SP that I've been super interested in.
I do agree with the OP to a point in saying we are getting a bunch of 'stuff' many players have not asked for or wanted in game but there's always the option to not buy them. I'd rather have many options for my sims... then again SP's are mostly made up of things Custom Creators can make themselves. I just wish there were more Expansion Packs. Bring on the Cats & Dogs! Then hopefully Seasons!

Well I agree theres many stuff packs no one asked for, like luxury party or cool kitchen but things for toddlers have been a request since i was active on TS2 boards in like 2005. I wouldn't go as far as to say "no one" asked for this content. Whether you personally find this content useful is a different issue.

I love the canning station in Sims 3, as well as all the toddler stuff they sold. But I'm really loving the canning station that icemunmun made over at MTS for Sism 4. It really is the next best thing until EA gives us the canning station (wishful thinking possibly).

Well we won't know anything for sure until it happens. If they ever give us cars in this game. I'm hoping that if they do it will be patched in for free like toddlers.

This is something I have thought about. In my opinion, there are some features that I think making into it's own pack is unnecessary, especially the bowling stuff pack. Bowling could have been a part of city living.

No they weren't, what the heck?? Toddlers have only been a hot-button topic for Sims 4 specifically because of their late release, and the SPs for Sims 2 and Sims 3 were always geared more at broad furniture themes rather than at themes like teens or toddlers.

Are we seriously just rewriting history now to benefit Sims 4...? Why are we working so hard to make this game seem good instead of leaving that to their sales reps?

EA's problem is that they want to make 4 SPs each year because SPs sell so extremely well. So how should EA be able to do that if they put everything into the same expansion? ;)

I miss when it was all about the mega EPs, but I realize it won't ever be like that again for the sims in regards to ts4 at least. In their mind they think they can make a lot more selling the little bits separate than they do in a giant EP, which I guess is possible, but many are leaving the franchise in droves because ts4 doesn't meet their expectations. Perhaps going back to quality EPs would actually make the company more money in the long run because it may bring some fans who have left - back. I think it's something EA should consider, as for me I personally don't mind paying extra because we make good money, but there's people out there who can't afford to keep buying these SPs and GPs, they want to save up for a decent EP which imo is understandable.

I kind of wonder how lucrative it is vs the old way.

I might be the only one. But if a pack doesn't meet my request, I wouldn't buy it. With the way EPs were done in the past, there was always something for everyone and more of a reason for me purchasing it.

Vampires and Cats/Dogs, for example, are lost opportunities in my eyes. I wouldn't buy those packs because I don't really care if I have them or not. But if they were part of a larger package that offered more variety, I'd jump for the opportunity to buy them.

I get the 'collector' mentality though. So I honestly don't know which way is better for the company. I just know there is a boat-load of packs they've released for this game that do very little to entice me.

Even the EPs are too specific and lacklustre to make me want them.
Dissatisfied with Sims 4 and hoping for a better Sims 5

Ok I just have to chime in for the complainers of stuff packs. Do you not remember the Sims 3 Store? Do you not remember paying $20 for 5,000 sim points to buy one tiny pack of 5 items? I sure do and I know I spent 5x as much money for less content.

This is absolutely what's being done. All of this Toddler stuff could have been in the Toddler update, or Parenting, and in fact I think it was probably ready in time, but they plucked a few things out and said "Stuff Pack ho!" Just the same, toddlers definitely needed more clothes.

A whole lot of what's in Toddlers is animal-themed as well, ready for when Cats and Dogs comes out.

When i see a new sims expansion i usually hope for something exciting but im always met with a very disappointing stuff pack recently a stuff pack came out for toddlers and i was very upset.
Why does maxis give us stuff packs nobody wants or asks for yet only use ideas from the community when they likely don't have any that the whole team can agree on.
its getting very annoying there might as well be polls at this point i understand that the stuff packs may be needed and that i should not ask for any old pack like seasons but still if they are going to make stuff packs like this they should at least take our thoughts about the next pack into more consideration.
if this keeps up the game my go into a hibernation with nobody playing it until years later when a expansion that people actually care to try comes out.

the bowling pack was a waste honestly as it was simply a stuff pack that allowed sims to bowl this could have been saved for a game or Expansion pack that way it would have been much more fitting instead of making bowling a whole pack on its own.
I also want to talk about the toddlers pack that has recently come out if you read the youtube comments one of the top comments says
"Am I the only one that thinks this should've been in parenthood?" I agree completely with this if they were going to add this it would have been a must have addition to parenthood why would you instead make it a pack of its own?
these stuff packs feel like they are just things that maxis threw in to make some quick money reasons being that

    1. most stuff packs only have about a few new objects that add new animations and effects.
2.some aspects of the stuff pack seem to be bugged for example butlers apparently don't work like butlers.
    3. despite the community clearly being upset with most of the stuff packs they continue to make more not addressing the community's disappointment.

Easy we have Cats And Dogs coming in November. I personally think the toddler sp is going to be one of my favorites. I like all the gameplay objects and the new toddler hairs. I enjoyed the bowling sp.

EVERYBODY was complaining about how little stuff there was for Toddlers. I'm not saying I wouldn't be happier with more things, but why did EA make a Toddler stuff pack? Because people were asking for it. And a lot more people were asking for it than Bowling, or a Rock-Climbing Treadmill that breathes fire.

They ARE making Stuff packs that some people want.
Not everyone will want the same things.
What You call "boring", others may like, the same way others may not want what You do.
"Boring" is an opinion, not a fact.

It was already stated by a Guru, ages ago, that the Stuff packs are basically a "replacement" for the "Store".
I don't see too much of a problem with that. o:)
You can chose to buy, or not. :*
(Though if only wanting one or two items, and having to pay for the whole pack, can occasionally be frustrating.)

I'm sorry but I actually wanted a toddler stuff pack ever since toddlers were announced because they could have more stuff, so I'm happy with that. Also, they gave us toddlers for free, you can't expect them to have added all this stuff packs content for free too, they are a business etc.

Also, I'm liking the stuff packs we have been getting, but no one needs to buy them if they don't like it. There are separate teams doing each pack type so none of the stuff packs are slowing things down.

The toddler SP is an insult. Sure we needed CAS for toddlers since they weren't in the game for two years, but the objects are what you mostly pay for. The ball pit is awful , I saw it in two reviews and it's as bad as it looks.

More stuff for Toddlers and Childern is always being requested, mostly due to the need to catch up right now. I was predicting a Toddler pack as soon as the Update came out. Kid's Room got us ready, Parenthood continued, and Toddlers completes the cycle.

They'll pull something very similar with Cats & Dogs.

I for one am glad we have separate expansions and stuff packs! Means I can be more selective with what goes In my game which suits my play style.

Plus they have already said they created game packs and stuff packs for smaller concepts or items that they couldn't fit into expansion. Which makes sense plus everything is more detailed and fine tuned. I mean it's 7.99 for a stuff pack in the uk €10 or wherever it's hardly a fortune if you don't like the items then don't buy the packs. Yes maybe we should have got toddler outfits In parenthood but that wasn't the focus of the game pack I just think people just want to constantly complain and pick it all apart and start conspiracy theories it's a game at the end of the day buy the stuff pack or don't buy the stuff pack who cares

I like stuff packs and I was really excited for this one. I can't wait for the eco/laundry one too. I like the stuff the clothing and furniture they come with and will probably continue to buy them. So not everyone thinks the same way you do. I do wish we had more expansions but I also enjoy the stuff packs.
