I was thinking about it and with all the love thrown the way of toddlers, children and teens recently I really think they should release a pack of items (either free content we can patch in or a stuff/game pack of some type) just for the elders in Sims 4. They are seemingly very overlooked and they are important family members too.

Definitely make a great point @RebeccaThurston ! All these ideas in the this thread sound great. I recently thought about looking for retirement/nursing home build so I could put all my elders in one spot lol.
Here's Don Lothario as an elder in my current save acting like he's still in his 20s.
To be fair, Don seems like the kinda guy who'd live like that. Something like: "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional."
But, yeah. It would be nice to see some clothes for the older sims. I remember TS3 had some really nice clothes for elders.
I am a little frustrated with the fact that in my game if an elder dies when I am not at that house nobody is at all fussed about it the next time I visit. And I had one sim die on a community lot after just meeting a granddaughter for the first time. The granddaughter who had almost zero relationship with her spent 2 days mourning her, but the woman's son (the girl's father) threw a birthday party and everyone in the family who had been close to the dead old woman didn't seem at all bothered. That's an inconsistency I think could be ironed out with something elder-centred.
Just keep in mind, that with a little luck, you'll be an Elder some day.

If they haven't done so earlier in life I usually have my elders take up yoga and meditation; I haven't found that yoga leaves them near death after only a few seconds. I'd like to see more hobbies and crafts that can be done by multiple ages, so maybe you could have a elder teaching his/her grandchild to knit, or a workbench where elders and teens can work together and build objects while building a bridge across the generations.
Fun must be always -- Tomas Hertl (San Jose Sharks hockey player)
I can just see my elderly sim now in a Lavender cottage, pottering about, and rooting through a wicker basket of yarn.
Canes should come back and I'm down for knitting, where they can knit sweaters (unlocked outfits for all ages). Maybe even depending on their skill level it could come out cute but 🐸🐸🐸🐸 like those ugly Christmas Sweaters LOL.
Soaps could be like a new TV Channel (or maybe a game show channel)
Maybe even a family specific want to "Call Daughter" or "Call Grandson", with a cute happy moodlet after talking (maybe this already exists for family sims?)
Also random drop ins by your sims elderly parents/grandparents where they visit bringing pies or something they homemade. That could be cute!
It's just the lack of things to do in this game that's really painful. You've probably tried every object and activity there is before your sim reaches adulthood, so playing with elders is boring and repetitive..I would love to see knitting and more ways for sims to craft objects. I really want to build my elders a little shed in the backyard where they can do more things besides using the woodworking table
