I'm really enjoying this challenge so far! It's a nice change of pace for me, as I usually play large families (I'm obsessed with genetics!). Here is my lucky/unlucky adoptive father, Ricky Lewis.
A little backstory, for those who care. Ricky had a rough past, with an absentee father and lousy upbringing that resulted in no friends, no money, and a stint in rehab. He's gloomy and lazy, and has never had a job as he has no motivation or work ethic. Despite his poor childhood, he is family-oriented and wants to one day have his own happy family. An omniscient government official being has seen the potential (and desperation) in him, and has chosen Ricky for this secret program.
Little Lexus is his alien ward (he's independent), and has proven to be rather difficult! Upon arriving at their new home, Lexus promptly started making a mess.
There is no end to the shade.
Ricky is trying his best (he gets free-housing after all), but at times he doesn't know if he can handle it.
There are some moments of happiness, though.
Checking out his fish which he named "Shmoo-shmoo"
****Ricky really is having a tough time. He is constantly angry because he always gets woken up before his energy bar is full, and his and Lexus' relationship is quite low because of all the scolding. His Parenting level is already 6, and Lexus is still a toddler!
Anyways, sorry for the long post. I am just enjoying the fact that this challenge really lets the troublesome toddler personalities shine.
@HowGreatThouArt A good back story helps make the game more interesting. My toddler and dad had a very negative score. It evened out a bit during the child stage and eventually they became Best Friends. Hope you will keep sharing.
@EuphorialQueen Yes, Lexus just became a child and it's so much easier to build up the relationship now. Toddlers have such extreme moods, and when Lexus was angry (he was angry a lot) he kept spamming mean interactions.
Lex became a child, and I guess all that scolding did the trick, because he is the perfect child (and rolling the Perfectionist trait wasn't too bad either .
They have a great relationship now, and I was able to get him in range for two positive traits.
I think it's totally awesome that Lexus was given the solar system school project from school.
He occasionally made messes...
...but cleaned them up on his own!
Also, Ricky found himself a partner that he'll move in once Lex is a YA.
And also a little one so he can have an even bigger family now!
At least one of them is happy about being in labor.
He loves his baby boy, Efrain!
Also, I guess it's a bit late to ask this, but @Pinstar1161 , is it okay to pause and select the alien child to take their school project out of their inventory and place it on the lot? Otherwise they'll never work on it...
@HowGreatThouArt - oh I love your story. And the pic of Lex sliding on the water slide is so good! Love it! And already a child....time sure flies...Great story! And I think it was ok to take the project out...I think I read something about that in a previous post, or on the actual challenge site.
I was so excited because I haven't had an abduction in ages, and the last one (literally at least a year ago) was only because my scientist was actively trying to get aliens' attention.
Unfortunately, Ricky didn't get impregnated, so I had him try again with Lillith because I wanted a vampire baby. Ricky still loves little Efrain though.
He's a Charmer and he's soo adorable.
Lex aged up during this time.
Why Lex, why?!
And to my amazement, Ricky got abducted again.
And...
yaaaaassss
He got huge.
And I had this feeling...
Yep, twins.
Galatia...
...and Galaga.
Aaaaand another one for Lillith, hahaha
Ricky's gotten more than he bargained for in this challenge. This is my second to last post, so no worries about me clogging up the feed anymore.
@HowGreatThouArt LOVE your update. How cool to have all those babies. My Papa Mac Cheese in this save did not have an alien pregnancy. However the toddler Cheddah Cheese was saved to move to a whole new save and guess what. He was abducted several times and ended up with two sons Muenster and Gouda. It was so great!
@EuphorialQueen Neat names! I like Muenster especially. I'm guessing simply playing with aliens raises the chance of abduction? I haven't had aliens in my household since that scientist so I'm not really sure.
@allysimbuilds I know! Thank goodness Lillith isn't actually part of my household yet.
The prologue and the first chapter are mostly setting up the premise, and the actual challenge-play starts in the second chapter.
