    Hello @thewaif99
Try updating your amd Radeon graphics card drivers and see if that helps the issues.
Also go to Windows Update and make sure that your computer is up to date.

Thank you. I have done that. I read on the forums also that if you have a lot of items in your house or household inventory that could cause this also. I had the the Life Aspiration about having my home be worth $350,000. I added a basement and a fourth floor to get my house value to $350,000. Once I achieved the aspiration, I deleted a lot of the items I didn't want in the first place. Do you recommend deleting the basement and 4th floor as well? I don't really mind. But I plan on purchasing some additional game packs soon--dining out, backyard and kids room packs--but I am worried that getting the packs and putting new items in my house may cause this to happen again.

    Hello
It is good that removing the items helped with the issue.
You could keep the basement and 4th floor but not put a lot of items on these levels,

Thanks. I have done everything you said. The game still freezes after 60-90 minutes playing time. I thought I saw something about decreasing graphics setting or go from 64 bit to 32 bit might help. Can you explain how to do this?

    Hello @thewaif99
To switch back to 32 bit mode, do this :
Go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”. Click on Advanced Launch options.
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit

You can decrease the graphics settings in -game in the graphics settings section of game options

For me the freezing seems to happen right after I go from build mode back to live mode.

It may be connected with the number of sims that you are playing in your household, the freezing going into live mode.

OK, thanks. I have four Sims. Two adults and two children. Today I am unable to play for more than 5 minutes. The game keeps freezing and is 'not responding'. I wait 15-20 minutes and task manager out of it.

Have you updated your graphics drivers since you posted your dxdiag information? The drivers are from 2016 and there are drivers that have been released since then. Updating may help with your isssues.

That is good :) Try also seeing if either windowed or full screen mode helps the issue.
I will also ask @phoebebebe13 to check your dxdiag information.

Yes, I have been playing in windowed mode ever since the game froze and took up the entire screen. Even when I pulled up task manager, it was behind the frozen screen. Anyway, I updated AMD graphics driver, graphics driver updates suggested by Intel and graphics driver updates suggested by Dell. I cannot play 1 minute now. The game freezes with the first click to get a Sim to perform an action. I did the right click on the game icon and decreased from 64 bit to 32 bit. I also saw the option to repair and I clicked this as well. At this point, I am giving up. I will definitely return the Dell "gaming computer" that cost $1600. It certainly is of no use.

I am sorry that you are having these issues. Are you having computer issues when not playing the game ?

Honestly, I only bought this computer specifically to play the Sims 4 on. But I haven't had any issue getting online to the forums, checking email, going to the Dell website to download drivers, or the Intel website to download drivers. My virus scan runs without incident and has found no issues during the scan.

If you can return this laptop I would. They charged you $1600 for this laptop? It's not a gaming computer. The processor is only dual core (you need a quad core) and the AMD card is lower end. They overcharged you for hardware that does not meet the recommended requirements to run this game. They will advertise computers as "Gaming" when they are not for gaming. This game's requirements is for a mid range gaming desktop. Laptops are weaker. You need a higher end gaming laptop to equal the requirements on desktop. For $1600 you could have gotten a much better laptop. If you return this laptop, come back and ask us. We can help you find a computer that should last this whole game as it adds more and more.

    Hello @thewaif99
It would be good to post on a thread in the Sims 4 Tech section of the forums, your budget and the country where you live. Phobebebe13 and other simmers will offer help and suggestions on a new computer . The link is
