Let's go bowling so we can watch TV

Once again there is no wow factor where it needs to be how boring this stuff pack turned out to be 10 bucks for a bowling lane and a few worthless items, Give us a cheat code to put a wow factor on the items we want our sims to lust after. I think this is the last purchase I am going to make it's time to go play another game and throw this game in the trash

I'm not buying anything else UNLESS I feel it gives my game the WOW factor that everyone talking about. I'm going to invest some time now into watching let's plays and reviews before buying any more... or unless it goes on sale for dirty cheap...

It's a $10 stuff pack....not sure how much "wow" anyone should expect out of any $10 stuff pack. $10 won't get you much of anything these days.....it's barely enough to get a combo menu at a fast food or sub shop...won't even buy you admission to a non-matinee movie.....it's not enough to buy a pizza at most places. The stuff pack is in line with content and price based on DLC and add-ons in other games.

This attitude right here is what's wrong with the Sims franchise. Knowing that the stuff pack is going to be garbage because it's only $10 and being okay with that. That's how EA is able to get away with milking us for every penny.

If they want "I FINALLY REACHED THE CENTER OF THE TOOTSIE ROLL POP" type of wow you need the game pack for that. Not a stuff pack. With stuff packs your trying to crunch your way through but your teeth is telling you to stop drilling or we'll break!

I turned my bar into a lounge so a tv wasn't required. However, in my one bar I decided to delete the big tv and place a tiny one upstairs. Seems to work.

All the fun items should have a wow factor which non in this game does PRICE has NOTHING to do with my opinion :#

That's a good idea I just wish the bowling lane was a bit more wow for the regular bar sims the game does generate teams to bowl but I was hoping to see other sims just bowl

I realize that wow factor is a relative term, but I felt that this pack had more bang for the buck than most of the others. I love the fashions, bowling is a hoot, the Dust Bowl is now my second favorite bar (Shrieking Llama forever!), and the retro decor is, like in orbitsville, daddy-o.

Or just build a basement on your lot and put unwanted lot requirements there, they still count as filling a lot requirement even if no one can go down in the basement to use the items.

Since when did stuff packs ever have a "wow" factor in previous games? Oh I know, that $20 price tag that included not even half the items an expansion pack added with no additional gameplay as well. At this point, it seems people are bashing The Sims 4 just because it's called The Sims 4, I bet if these stuff packs were originally released for TS2 or even 3 no one would be complaining.

I put all unwanted items in a basement (tiny room) with no access. Solves all sorts of problems..bar stools, TVs, etc. If you want to keep Sims busy with the stuff you want them to use but no specific lot type hide all that stuff from them. Unlike TS2 these Sims won't be trying to get to them. Out of sight out of mind.

But I have plenty of 'teams' who come into the Maxis built bar/bowling alley to bowl. They aren't watching TV. So, not sure why others don't. They are attracted to the lanes, even my own so it's doing what they said it would. Sims would come in to bowl and they do.

    It's your own fault tbh.

They literally showed everything this pack had to offer, and you went in and bought it doing no research. This pack is exactly what you would expect when playing "Bowling in The Sims", if Bowling doesn't appeal to you, then why did you decide to buy this pack and expect to love it?

All it is, is another object for your Sims to use, and new a new venue for Sims to visit. It's not a game within a game.

It's not garbage though. People just want a Bowling mini game, instead of Bowling Sims game, and EA delivered the latter.
It's arguably the best Bowling we've had to date in The Sims. It's not designed to be a "Bowling" game, it's designed to be an activity you can your Sims too on dates, or to get to know each other etc. It's not Bowling for the actual player.

People consider it "garbage" because they wanted something that isn't part of "The Sims". Had this been on The Sims 3 store for $20 with half the content, people would have praised it back and forth. It's only because people think they have to buy every "pack" that they buy things they aren't going to enjoy. With The Sims 3 store, people didn't have that same need to have "everything" so people bought what they wanted.

This pack had plenty of "Wow" factor I felt for a stuff pack. It was well done and a nice addition of "stuff" cause it's a stuff pack. Your comment though seems directed at two issues- the pack itself and lot requirements. As far as lot requirements go I personally feel there shouldn't be any save a register for Retail and host station/ cooking station for restaurants. Otherwise it should be up to the player to decide exactly what THEY want on THEIR lots decor and activity wise.

I think all the teeth gnashing going on about this pack has to do with poor marketing. If EA had just marketed this pack as a venue (not a stuff pack), people would've realized that it was basically the same as the venues that we got from the TS3 store, except half the money and with a lot more objects and several CAS items.

    A visual comparison:

Casino venue, TS3, 9 objects (the 11 is misleading, because the venue itself and recolor of the juice bar were counted as two new objects):

    Bowling alley venue, TS4:

I know some people will say, "Well, the objects are worthless because they only look good in a bowling alley." Not true. The atomic age chairs, lamp, credenza, stone veneer and tables are perfect for a Mid Century Modern interior theme.

I do agree bowling stuff was little lacking but for stuff packs are a hit or miss. I loved vintage glamour I mean 3 new game plays items plus a fireplace great fashion and hair. That pack was well worth my money. But everybody complaining about stuff packs kind of annoys me because a lot of them have been really good! But that just my opinion.

Yeah, I always liked stuff packs. I always need more curtains, furniture, hair, clothes etc. I skipped quite a few in TS4 because they don't actually stick to a theme in the early day of TS4. Such as Cool Kitchen had more CAS than counters. But I say buy what theme you like and skip what you don't like. I've only purchased three or four SPs and I think they don't expect us to buy all of them though they might wish we did. I didn't get all the stuff packs in TS2, either, I didn't even like that Teen Style stuff pack back then. I hope it stays this way, buy what interest you and skip something else.
