How do I apply a frieze?

I needed to resize an existing room in one of the default houses and it had a frieze along the top border of the first floor. When I clicked and dragged the room to the new size I wanted the room was fine but the frieze did not continue along the expanded length of the room. It only covered the part it had originally been attached to. How do I add these pattern to the rest of the walls so it looks consistent? Are these like fences? It doesn't seem to work like a wallpaper.

They tend to do that. It is best to add them when you are all finished.

As far patterns go are you referring to he different types of frieses?

Yeah, I have no idea how to apply the pattern. I tried the eyedropper like you would with a wallpaper but that had no effect. Is it more like a wall? Do you select the type of frieze and then just lay the wall in where you want it? But you can't just drag and resize them?

Yes the eyedropper tool wont work with those. You should be able to use replace option like you would if you replace wall with a fence though. You can't use the color tool either on them I don't think and just use the replace tool.

I figured it out with alittle trial and error. You have to go to the floor above the wall you want to edit. Not very intuitive but thats typical for the Sims 4 I guess.

I usually go to the second floor and put a platform using the platform tool (under walls and foundation). Then only the frieze would apply when you hover over the platform.

Yeah, friezes are tied to floor edges, not ceilings.
