I can never get mine past neutral, either. I'm not sure what else I need to do. Have a party and invite them? I really don't know.

Yeah neither do mine, all of the hired staff are maxed out on skills and are on the highest wage and still are on neutral. Has anyone tested building a higher relationship level with them to see if it goes past neutral?

Yes..my sim in having a fling with the server...she is the one that never showed up for work so I fired her butt out of there lol..so high relationships don't matter

I can't seem to interact with my staff :( I can socialise with them (i.e. friendly cues, mean cues etc) but in terms of training them, praising them etc, all i see is the bubble but the bubble is blank. I can click on the bubble but i don't know what interaction i am choosing so i could pick one at random and essential fire them. Does anybody know how to help me? I don't alter the game in anyway apart from using cheats such as "motherlode" and "cheats testing true".

    PLEASE HELP!

as I have understood the game, neutral is good, another thing you can do is get the inspirational speech perk.
great to cheer them up and make them like you more

i have had staff satisfied a few times but it has been hard work to get them there. i praise them regularly more than 3 times per shift plus i use the inspirational speech interaction whenever it becomes available (After buying the perk that is)

Remember to promote them as that affects their moods. The staff in my restaurant have maxed skills so are each promoted to level 5 now and flip between neutral and satisfied.

Occasionally one of the wait staff don't turn up but do a few days later. I assume its meant to resemble RL taking sick days or personal days. So i don't fire missing staff especially since I've invested in their training ( I do have more than 1 waiter so i can manage without 1 every once in a while)

Also i never have my restaurant open more than 10 hours at a time that way they don't become too tired as that will also affect job satisfaction

Have you tried opening for shorter hours? Maybe your staff are run ragged?

I was thinking of going out to another restaurant, inviting the staff members & maybe building up friendly relationships that way. That would work right? (just an idea...not tried yet)

what i did is i dont often improve their wage..only when they're unsatisfied, in that way they work more efficiently, i bet that's the way our society really is..

actually is there a cheat code for them??????

Glad to see that it's at least possible to have satisfied staff. I praise my employees every chance I get, promote them above what I think is appropriate for their skill level, and give inspirational speeches. But still neutral. :(

I started to do this.. I had created a scenario where I play the guy instead of the girl that I had intended to put together.. I was able to hire her as a waitress.. When he went collecting things around the area, he ran into her because her house was in the same area of the restaurant ( I put it there after I hired her and moved her in without playing her). Both waitresses live there and was fishing and she was walking somewhere.. I had my Guy Sim try to talk to her and she acted like not you again.. Sent him to the gym and she walked away from him.. lol next day I had him to the check up on her and she said in the comment " If you were to put as much time running your business as much as your checking up on me, you might do better" hahaha!!! So... I started doing short shift in the morning where all tables are sat at, disallow new customers - finish them up - close the doors.. then in the evening do the same thing.. They all seemed to function a little better.. so I agree, you can run your staff ragged and they won't want to see you.. not to mention whomever is able to give birth in your game.. lol they could end up doing that as well.

Mine are nearly always on nuetral and I've had one quit but you know, you're working in a restaurant serving sims- lol. I figure I'm doing well. When my server quit the place was swamped and he had just had a "guest" pee himself. The server mopped up, said he had had enough of the place and stormed out AND he was my boyfriend at that! But I can't blame him. If I was dating the boss and just mopped up pee in the middle of crowded restaurant I'd quit too! LOL! I think it's more realistic to have stuff like that happen as well. Nobody works somewhere forever and people do stuff you can't believe while out in the public.

i can only praise them once a shift....it is greyed out after i praise them and says you have already performed this. But i do praise them and send them to classes and ask how their day is and promote them....anything i can do i do it...still nada. I dont open for more than 10 hours...only sad part is that near the end of the shift is when it starts to get busy and pick up so i lose alot of simoleon income

I can't get my employee to phone up the customers so I am wasting all this money to pay him and advertise my shop but he just doesn't phone them back so I am not making profit... It's not like I have hired a completely incompetent person to run my clothing store, he just won't phone them back even though he says he has

what about higher tips? there is a reward that customers leave higher tips. This might increase happiness

I've tried higher tips, shorter days, praise, inspiring speech, and promotions. Nothing seems to do it for me. :/

I've been fortunate as so far my wait staff will take a quick break and go to the bathroom, however I made them muffins and they never eat at work, the customers enjoyed the extra snacks instead. I find the only way to keep staff happy is to praise them and not have the restaurant open too long.

I've been opening my restaurant for 8 hour shifts, praising and giving the inspirational speech and so far my staff have either been very satisfied or satisfied. I think ensuring your staff do not get over-tired is really the key.
I'm a girl who likes to play with boys, what can I say... o:)

I keep my staff happy by inspirational speeches when they walk in, praising when they do good and giving raises. They amazingly stay satisifed except Clara , Bjorn's wife who is always giving me the business and I could fire her but I don't because her husband works at my other restaurant and is a great host btw and I refuse for her to go home and tell him i fired her and take him with her xD
