I'm going to be updating the format and the sections one at a time, so if something seems off don't worry about it. xD
I will also be adding a list of "current models" and "retired/vacationing" models for the hosts to refer to, or for other projects that deal with models. There will be a prerequisite of "three or more edits" though (edits with repeat backgrounds do not count towards 3, only 1 will count). This is to avoid adding the newbies who pop in for a tiny bit and then disappear on us, never to be seen again.
Edit: If someone has been gone for more than a year they will be moved to "retired" until further notice. Those who are actively posting but not modeling will be in "vacation" or "on break", depending on what I name it. xD
Also, if you have any questions or thoughts about something to do with modeling, please say it now while I work on the thread for the next few days.
I updated the "I want to be a judge" guide bit, but I don't think anything new was put in....I edited it a few days ago and forgot to post about it. xD
Anyways, nothing new on that one to read (I think), and I don't think there's anything new to put there as I don't have anything on my list of updates for it (it's a long list though, so I might have missed something). I'll go back to it at a later date, but I need to finish some of the other sections first.
I've already started a list of active modelers. Sims 3 "active" ones are done (I think), but I haven't started on the "retired" ones yet since there is so many of them, even if I'm only looking at those for the past year (yes, that's how many people go through there xD). There aren't many to post in the vacation section though. Trying to decide on if I should just merge that with retired or not.
Sims 4 was started a while ago but needs to be updated.
Okay, I am going through this thread with a finetooth comb when I get home.
I want to set up another comp as I became too ill to run the last one I started.
BUT, I want to be a fantastic host so I am thanking @MizoreYukii for this thread so much right now!
My competition will have assignments running for a week, and a specific day of the week will be score day.
I'm not granting extensions as I want it to be regimented and for people to only join if they can see going until the end.
At the same, it will be fun!
So if anyone wants to be a fellow judge with myself, just message me!
I thought this would be the best place to post this as I have to make up all of the rules, prizes, banners etc so the actual topic may not be up for a day or two.
There will also be little twists to my competition too
Disclaimer: I'm not saying that competitions that aren't regimented aren't any good because I love any type of competition when it comes to modelling. I'm simply saying it so that whoever wants to judge with me is aware that I can't accept late scores/feedback as there will be a schedule to keep to.
Edit: Derp, forgot to bold as an announcement. And changed the wording. o_O Man I'm asleep
FYI, we allow extensions because sudden deaths, accidents, work increase, health issues, etc. can happen to anyone at any time, even the host. Extensions are to be courteous to our models and not force them to drop because life decided to throw them for a loop, not for random purposes. I don't think Sims 4 is aware of this, which would explain why the "no extensions" rule is increasing.

Okay, but I've included in the rules that I will accept reasons for being late as long as it's not too late.
(Deadlines will be running to GMT, though I will make allowances for understandable late reasons as long as it's not too late.)
No extensions is just to ensure that we keep the competition running smoothly.

I know, it was meant for people to see in general. xD And there will always be accidents in a comp schedule, that I guarantee. Lol
If you make it without an issue you get a cookie
Good luck, and have fun!

Oh! My bad. :P
Sorry, just tryna explain my thoughts.
Modeling list is done. I'll be moving stuff around now so the three new sections have a spot, and so I can get started on the rest of the updates. I'm not sure how long the guides will be after this, but I'm hoping I have enough reserves for them. xD
Just so people are aware, the hosting guide is the one being changed the most, and the one to take the longest. It needs a completely new format in order to make sense and minimize confusion. >_<
Alright, beginning to move things around. Some of the links will temporarily be broken (meaning they redirect to wrong post). Moving should only take a little bit, and then I'm going to update at least one section today.
Bump for those that are new and still haven't seen this.
Once school is over I will be updating the thread, and I will also be making a copy on the new forum. http://simmetrydesign.forumotion.com/
@MizoreYukii Thanks so much for putting this all together! Most of it explained a LOT to me but I must be honest and say that a few bits have my head spinning! I know I will probably be asking a few more questions (okay...LOTS, lol) but I start with these:
1 - That bit about using real life features is a big no no but I saw quite a few examples of it here? Like in Pic 2 on the 1st page (Woman standing on a rock overlooking a skyline) You said that was amazing BUT to me, her feet are NOT Sim feet. So did you mean only in competitions?
2 - In your incredible Flickr album, I noticed a bunch of your pics were taken 'In Game', but again, in your tutorial, you stated not to take pics in front of game walls & floors because they will look awful? Did I read something wrong?
3 - Back to your amazing album: a) How do you get the white or I guess transparent wall behind a Sim? b) If a pic is taken in game, how do you get rid of all the 'dialog' bubbles and control features???
Thank You,
Shelby

For those wondering on the updates: Beginner's comp first, competition listing thread, then this one. Shouldn't be much longer now.
Just saw this, don't know how I missed it, but thanks!
Man I gotta update it. @_@ Will soon hopefully.
