Do you have a fixed ingame time you play each household for? If yes, how long?
Yes, I intend to play each household with a fixed time! I'm not sure exactly how long at the moment, but I like where I stopped the Una household for now. But that makes it rather short - only three Sim days. I'll see if I switch to another household when I get back into the game.
Do you play with aging on or off and why?
Right now I think I'm playing with aging on. I think it's more realistic and challenging somehow to work within the parameters of the game.
Do you play the EA premades?
Yes, I'll be playing premades in TS2 and perhaps also TS3!
How many household do you rotate with?
Ooo, I haven't decided yet. I think I'll work with the number of households provided by the game per neighbourhood...but that might be overly ambitious! I'll see how it goes later.
Do you add households as you go or do you have pre-determined households to rotate with?
I'm sticking with EA's given households, so everything is more or less pre-determined!
Are you using your own builds or do you keep EA's houses?
@pammiechick I had problems with culling before, I lost all my tribe ghosts in first generation of Blessing Moon tribe But now my game is protected of it by MC Command Center mod.
I just thought that I'm still playing in rotation neighborhood style even doing amazon challenge and writing my story I always switch between those households what are related more or less to Blessing Moon tribe. I also did it before when I started play The Sims 2 and later, when I got The Sims 3 game. I still have these both games on my laptop.
Answers to the questions:
- Do you have a fixed ingame time you play each household for? If yes, how long?
I divide one sim week into two parts, so I play with one household around 3,5 days and then I change the household. But sometimes I play longer, if there is comming some Birthday or birth of baby
- If you don't have a fixed time, how do you determine when to switch households?
There are some my created households I need to switch them for the storyline, but mostly I don't play them if they aren't related to Blessing Moon tribe.
- Do you play with aging on or off and why?
I always play with aging on. I like to see when not only my main characters, but also other sims grow up and get old together
- Do you play the EA premades?
I don't play EA premades at this time, although Liberty Lee lived with my sim Adonis Kasanova few days in his mansion (The Male Prettacy Challenge: Kasanovas - cursed to love and be ugly). As I remember I always loved play with Goth family, especially in The Sims 2 game Cassandra left Don Lothario for my sim and they got married, had two amazing kids. I remember how her brother Alexander became teen and how he lived alone when their father Mortimer Goth died... It was really amazing
- How many household do you rotate with?
I rotate 4-5 households at this time, but only the one of them - Blessing Moon tribe - is my main and most important household.
- Do you add households as you go or do you have pre-determined households to rotate with?
Mostly I create new households myself and add them to my game, if they are needed for my story.
- Are you using your own builds or do you keep EA's houses?
Sometimes I build houses myself, but mostly I download them from the gallery.
My own style? It's hard to say... I've never paid my attention to speech bubbles before, but now I learnt from @Julyvee94 that it's very useful and interesting and I really should try to use it for my sims stories Now I need to learn how to use Lightshot as I've noticed when I take pictures in game later I don't see speech bubbles there
@roseinblack69 lightshot is really easy once it is installed it starts automatically when you start the PC and you use it by pressing the print Button on your keyboard
I played the Landgraabs yesterday and I got so many awesome shots. I just love playing casually and really watching my sims, interpreting their emotions expressions and speech bubbles. It gives me a whole new game experience so fun! The Landgraabs are taking an interesting turn in my story ^^
What elements do you guys use in your neighbourhood rotations to keep the story going?
I love to use parties. I normally don't do parties but in my neighbourhood rotation I do. There are so funny autonomous happenings and my families get to know lots of knew sims I can use later in the rotation.
Oh I forgot to answer to your questions @Julyvee94
What elements do you guys use in your neighbourhood rotations to keep the story going?
I think I use everything what is possible to use starting from parties, night clubs, bars and etc. It depends on the events in my story. I have a material for one or two stories (I still didn't decide which one of them I should choose for the writing), it should be totally neighborhood rotation story or similar to it, so you'll see how it will be. Before I always tried to get medals for the parties, but I guess I should forget about it and enjoy my sims.
Do you guys use cheats in your rotations?
Yes, I used them a lot in the sims 2 and even the sims 3 games, but now I use more mods than cheats
@roseinblack69 I think trying to achieve a medal makes a party rather stressful instead of fun just laying back and watch what my sims get up to is so much more fun. I still use the medals but I don't stress myself to accomplish them so if it doesn't happen that's okay too ^^
Lol I just revamped the Landgraab's house AGAIN and now they have like 500 simoleons left xD Do you guys use cheats in your rotations?
In the one I just started I will be using money cheats! Probably not the other ones, though.
I think it could add to the story if the Landgraab's have to struggle to pay the bills xD On the other hand it's more comfortable if I don't have to watch that so they have time for other things... the struggle is real xD
@julyvee94 - I definitely use cheats since I feel like the rotation is all about how the sims are interacting with others in their towns etc. I don't make my sims millionaires or anything but I make sure they have enough money to get by.
Just a thought - it'd be interesting to have a mix of 'cheated' Sims and 'non-cheated' Sims in a rotation! It makes things more realistic, since some people will have to struggle while others can sail by comfortably/splash their money.

Definitely! It's not for everyone, but I just had a brainwave and wanted to share.

I think it's an interesting idea ^^ I mean a poor/broke sim is also a good story element ^^

For my Newcrest game yes, partly because I wanted to place apartments and have the Sims moved in. These apartments/condominiums cost a bomb!
