Hello,
So, not sure if anyone's mentioned but after installing the latest September 24 patch my game was kind of reseted. My library was empty and absolutely no saved games (You know, the button was missing). I don't remember checking my save files at the time, so I don't know if it was completely empty. After the reset I created a new sim and started a new game so there should be some files now. However, they seem to be quite a lot to me and with different dates. I was wandering if there was a way to recover my previous games. I tried what you mention in the original post for most dates with my game open, nothing seemed to work. Here's a picture of my saves folder:
They are about 57 saves, not all shown in the picture.
Any help appreciated.
I'm not sure about that. I haven't played the game since February so I'm not aware of the save issue with the patches. Have you tried bringing it up to a SimGuru?

@RacerPQR Try deleting the autosave - that's Slot_0000001.save.

1. Move (not copy) Saves, Tray, Mods, Screenshots, and Custom Music folders and the Options.ini file to your desktop. Delete the Scratch subfolder from inside Saves.
2. Delete the rest of the The Sims 4 folder from your Documents > Electronic Arts folder.
3. Start the game, and exit the game. Now you have a fresh Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder.
4. Copy only an older Save file back in. (We'll save Tray etc. for later. Tray is your Library.)
5. Test to see if it shows in-game now.
6. If it does, keep adding saves until you narrow down which save is corrupt.
7. Now add Tray etc. back.

No new folder, saved game there as previous( the new one). That must mean nothing reseted, right?
Can you access saves from in the game, using the file-folder icon in the top right corner of the Main Menu? What do you mean by "no new folder"?

I tried changing the name of my file and it said it "may become unstable"? Is this normal? I have 1 chance to get my game back. It got stuck trying to load an APB screen and unfortunately I saved right as she was doing it, so it automatically goes straight to the same screen and gets stuck.

I've never gotten that, but you can always back up your saves in case anything goes wrong.

Its weird. Ive tried this just now and my saved game just didnt come back. It does suck because I had such a great game going, I wish EA would fix this problem.

Maybe the format has changed since last year? I could check later.

No, there's been no change in the format. Make sure that when you change the name of a .varX file you're leaving .save at the end of the filename with no dot after that. Also, consider deleting the Autosave files (beginning Slot_00000001).

I deleted a save in game by accident, is there a way to get it back?
I see you solved it in another thread

In your Saves folder, you will find something like this:
The files with "1" are the Autosave; you can ignore those.
The files with "2" are probably your current save - if not, look at the dates and pick the fileset (say, 3 or 4) that has the most recent date.
Now: For that fileset, you're going to do some renaming.
Old filename ---> new filename
Slot_00000002.save.ver0 ---> Slot_0000000a.save
Slot_00000002.save.ver1 ---> Slot_0000000b.save
Slot_00000002.save.ver2 ---> Slot_0000000c.save
Slot_00000002.save.ver3 ---> Slot_0000000d.save
Slot_00000002.save.ver4 ---> Slot_0000000e.save
Now start the game and go to the little disc icon in the upper right:
You can use that to load those newly renamed save files to find one that has the state you need. When you find it, use Save As and give it a name you'll recognize, say "Recovered Save" or "March 20". Then you'll know that that's the one to load now.
