and in 4 years from now technology for making games will also have change to the point that older pc dating from 2012 to 2015 will have change and will be more advance to run games that will be made in 4 years from now
I am a big family player. (I have already suggested ideas for a TS4 family ep).
Don't think need added ages, apart from of course bring back toddlers. But make more use out of what we have.
Pregnancy- IVF for adults that struggle to conceive. (Someone elses idea but think its great). in day 2 of pregnancy go to hospital for check up and scan, this will tell you if its twins, you can find out if its boy/girl. If the father doesn't live in the house, option to call him to meet at hospital when in labour (or for appointment on day 2).
Baby - think the interactions are ok but should be with the baby not crib so it can be taken out of the crib and more items.
Toddlers - Bring them back, but with more, changing table, toys, Playpens, bouncy chair, armbands and baby rings for in pool, swings, sand pit, Toddler beds. Maybe walkers to help learn to walk. pull them selves up on furniture rather than being taught to walk or both, sleep in bed with parents.
Children- Bring back after school club and boarding school, other than that pretty happy with how they are in TS4.
Teens - Have the teen pick 2 items to study at school, so for example if you want them to go into Music career they could study Logic & guitar, so will leave school with skills. maybe not get homework every night but could be read a book by Friday, then write an essay, or if studying cooking could have to make a meal and take to school. I think each career should have part time jobs but as in TS2, if the teen gets to level 3 in part time job start at level 2 in full time career, or if they are say a cleaner at hospital then start medical career at level 2 but get an extra logic skill while working part time and has read 1 medical journal.
Young Adult -need to cover things 18-21 year olds do, at the moment feel there is no difference between young adult & adult. Would be nice to have university /college, Sims can live at home and attend or move into a flat or shared accommodation then either return home or move out when they are finished or have the option to go travelling, even possibly have a college to attend while they are at home(similar to school).
Adult/elder sims to have part time careers that progress in the careers that are available full time.
Childcare - Have preschool, day care, toddler group, nanny, childminders and family/friends. Pre School is optional but toddlers can go 9-12 just like school but they play and socialise. Day care where Toddlers/babies can go between 8-6 while parents are at work, have a building somewhere in the town (chargeable). Toddler group where non-working Sims can go twice a week 10-12 where both Sims can socialise. Nanny & childminders, only difference you drop children off at childminders house and nannies come to you. Family/Friends, if you have a family member or friend from a different household who can go to their house when you are at work. All childcare can be agreed in a schedule so children are cared for at all times. Being able to ask family members or friends to baby-sit either at there house or your house, also if the farther doesn't live in household could have the stay at dads option.
World/neighbourhood is one of the biggest let downs for me in TS4, go back to TS3. could add things like Malls, can go shopping for clothes, household items etc.
More career options, Sims can be mailman, Repo man, social working, childminder, work at day care, Model Career, singer, maid, spa therapist, handyman. Part time jobs to have similar rewards as full time so 1 parent could be part time or an edler can work part time rather than retire. Teen Sims can join the career they want to enter as an adult (like in TS2) and then reach adult hood this can make them start at a higher level, they can also be babysitters or paper/boy girls. don't mind workplaces being rabitholes. but would like painter, writer to be recognised as careers.
Other Random ideas - Relaxing/mountain or beach vacations. Hotels A new skill cleaning (get positive moodlets if you clean house when this skill is at a high level), have hovers etc Sun beds/Sunbathing, hot tubs More romantic interactions. Hand holding while walking.Being able to Woohoo in more places, car, sofa, dinning room table, single bed. Don’t always have to have a high ltr to woohoo with Sims; hopeless romantic Sims could woohoo with acquaintances. I had a sim I wanted to have babies with different fathers but by the time I made them a relationship she managed 2 children before she aged. being able to rent a house instead of buying. Means a large family can move into a bigger house straight away just pay more with the bills. Also gives the option for wealthy sims to own the houses and get the income.
1. Scripting: Not necessarily the difficulty of scripting, but the amount of scripts involved. Every action taken by the game involves the use of scripts, including something as simple as scrolling. The problem with Open Worlds is that it uses far more scripts to render and run than what we see in the Sims 4, which divides every lot via a loading screen to pause/eliminate unnecessary scripts (even Open World games like TS3 utilize this technique to "ease the load"). A truly Open World Sims title would just overload the processor on the average computer.
2. Attention to Detail: This might surprise you, but have you ever stopped to wonder about the attention to detail when comparing Open World games to Instanced ones? Open World games generally have less attention to detail, while instanced games, like the Sims 4, have far more detail in many of the different lots (i.e. the park). Skyrim, which is acclaimed for it's vast exploration and detail, actually has very little in terms of extra detail compared to the likes of Ori and the Blind Forest. The Sims 3, despite the huge Neighborhoods and "seemless" travel, actually had very little in the environment (every single lot was grid based, and a good portion of the world was quite empty).
3. Excessive Load Times: Yes, even Open World games have loading screens, when starting up the world every time you load the game. Open World environments take longer to load up due to the amount of scripts being run at the very start (I've spent a whole hour waiting for a Sims 3 game to load properly). Yes, certain instanced games have excessive load screens (and, yes, it's annoying), but Open World games are much worse. And when you look back at number 1, you begin to like the fact that loading screens and instancing exist. "Would removing the loading screens from TS5 entirely make the game more enjoyable?" You want to crash your computer? My point exactly.
I like your ideas. I'll contribute some of mine later. I just wanted to say I personally don't wanna see pre-teens. A lot of the younger life stages were limited on clothes and things to do in TS2 and 3, so I don't wanna see that content spread even more thinly. I think Baby, Toddler, Child, Teen, YA, Adult and Elder is perfect as is.
I would actually dislike preteens as it ads way too much gameplay focus on one side. I know I can always age them up but it really depends if there are any drawbacksor not. I wouldn't mind toddlers, but preteens seems a bit too repetitive to me.
Also, newspapers. I don't know a single person who actually uses a physical copy of them so I don't mind they were left out. I would prefer a digital way of getting the news, especially in this day and age.
Everything else is great
Preteens I see nothing wrong with. To me, they are just worthy as other life stages in the Sims.
OK, before anyone starts, this is not a TS4 bashing thread so I don't want anyone to say 'but TS5 won't be out for years yet!'
This is just a collection of ideas for us to put together for a possible TS5, if and when it comes out.
Life stages:
All life stages should be included:
Baby (real babies, not objects)
Toddlers (could we go through the lack of toddlers again)
Children (Keep them like they are)
Pre teens (why not)
Teenagers (With their own height & voice)
Young Adults (Make them look very slightly younger than Adults)
Adults (No change needed)
Elders (With their own walk, wrinkles and voice)
World:
Open World only, no silly loading screens. If it worked in 2009, it will work in the future
Allow us to add lots of any size and edit the world as we wish
Make it look like GTA but without the violence lol
Gameplay:
Keep it cool like TS1, TS2 & TS3 style with charm and humour
Leave out angry poops
Traits and Aspirations/ Lifetime wishes
Make Traits & Lifetime wishes like TS3 & Aspirations like TS2
Careers:
Bring back all basic careers as well as options for part time work and for teens to work their own hours to fit in with school
Careers should be:
Business
Police
Medical
Education
Culinary
Journalism
Politics
Criminal
Military
Sports
Part time:
Grocery Store
Grave Digger (why not)
Bookstore
Teens:
Same as adults but part time as well as part time jobs
Community Lots:
Rabbit holes for workplaces like TS3 but an option to edit them
Park
Library
Swimming Pool
Gym
Fishing Spot
Beach
Bar/ Hangout
Pets:
Include in base game this time.
Maybe just dogs and cats and add other animals in later EPs
Weather:
Basic weather like rain and mild storms.
Add more weather in later EPs
NPCs:
Maid
Gardner
Repair man/woman
Police
Fire
Mail Delivery
Newspaper Delivery
Burglar
Pizza
Humour (Tragic Clown, Social Bunny or something new)
Build Mode:
Everything that TS3 has but some of the new stuff from TS4, like different wall heights
CASt (Bring it back in TS3 style)
CAS
The best of all of them.
Bring back sliders
Extras:
Option to transfer Sims from one game to TS5, restoring family relationships and match skills where possible
Option to transfer lots from one game to TS5 and copy textures and colours into the new CASt to save me having to rebuild my lots
Option to transfer worlds from one game to TS5 matching roads and where to place lots and spawners to save me having to spend years rebuilding

Any feedback welcome, who knows, TS5 might actually be 'The best Sims game ever!'
*Edit* I have moved this to ideas, is that ok with any of the mods? If not I apologise but I liked reading people's ideas and was disappointed that the thread just died...
You've got a pretty good list there. Just a few more things I'd like to add.
NPCs: Nanny, butler
Build mode: Ability to move and rotate entire houses and lots
It has to have sims 2 charm and all other good things from the sims 2
Create a Style and open worlds like in the sims 3... But the open worlds need to be improved!
CAS from sims 4... With sims 2 personalty points and sims 3 lifetime wishes but with the option to change the wishes like we have in 4.
As for ages the ALL can be made in CAS!
They would be...
Baby
Toddler
Child
Pre-Teen
Tween- early teens
Teen- older teens
(The ages of pre-teen, tween, and teen would have different heights and voices)
Young Adult- They would be college age sims so them look younger than adults... Heck make them shorter then them if you have too!
Adults... They dont need changes... The people who made the sims do them so well!
Middle age sims... Picture desperate housewives in the later years!
Elder sims... There should be two types... Young at heart... Still able to rock it! and golden oldie... Ready to slow down.
As for game play... Mix Sims 2 and 3 plus add new stuff!
Preteen and tween are the same thing. So I don't see a need for two tween stages. Only one is fine.
Tween is just an alternative name for preteen. They mean the same thing. Period.
Physics, i.e objects can fall and break
Beard & hair growth
Gradual heights & aging
Lawnmower
Kitchen draws, cupboards can open and be used for inventory purposes
Mouse cursor can touch and interact with objects i.e Swishing motion with mouse on vase could knock it over, or tickle sim.
Build Mode
Windows open and close
Realistic 3D grass painter
Make customized windows & doors
Separate bed frames and choose our own comfort mattresses
I saw someone mention this on another idea discussion, but I can't remember who or which discussion, but I really liked their idea. It was the ability to enable/disable open world. That way if you miss he open world you can have it, or if your laptop/desktop doesn't run the open world very well you can turn it off and play it like the closed world of TS1,2, and 4.
I want the spirit and personality of the Sims 2, in the world of the Sims 3, with the emotions and intelligence of Sims 4 and... something new. I don't know what it is, but there's something missing from all these games that the Sims 5 needs to bring to the table. Hm.
MY opinion on what TS5 should have/be like (I edited the original to what I think):
This is just a collection of ideas for us to put together for a possible TS5, if and when it comes out.
Life stages: All life stages should be included: Baby (real babies, not objects) Toddlers (could we go through the lack of toddlers again) Children (Keep them like they are) Pre teens (why not) Teenagers (With their own height & voice) Young Adults (Make them look very slightly younger than Adults) Adults (No change needed) Elders (With their own walk, wrinkles and voice)
World: Open NEIGHBORHOOD only. Lots only + loading screens to go anywhere work a lot better for people like me with not-so-great computers, but it is a little ridiculous Allow us to add lots of any size and edit the world as we wish Make it look like GTA but without the violence lol One world, three sections.... Outskirts of a city (NC), country-ish, very family-ready, suburban world (WC), and a desert-type (obviously OS)
Gameplay: Keep it like TS4 with multi-tasking, but better controls, more invites from neighbors to party etc., more of a possibility of a storyline, more music, LOOK LIKE TS4, TS3 WAS SO UGLY
Traits and Aspirations/Lifetime wishes: Make Traits & Lifetime wishes like TS3, more traits, Aspirations are useless for me, so I don't really care.
Careers: WAY more, as many as possibly: would be okay with all of these in it: h t t p : / / s i m s . wikia . c o m / w i k i / C a r e e r _ t r a c k s , minus the Pet ones, definantly part-time ones for teens
Community Lots: Park Library Community Pool Gym Fishing Spot Beach Lounge (FOR YOUNG ADULTS, NOT OLD PEOPLE) Nightclub Bar Teen Hangout Restaurants
Work: Open work places in base game for all of the careers School is open also
Pets: No pets
Weather: Basic weather like rain and mild storms. Add more weather in later EPs
NPCs: Maid Gardner Repair man/woman Police Fire Mail Delivery Newspaper Delivery Burglar Pizza
Build Mode: KEEP LIKE THE SIMS 4, ADD MORE HOUSEHOLD EVERYDAY OBJECTS
CAS: Keep like the sims 4 DO NOT Bring back sliders More normal clothes More "scandalous" clothes
Living Areas: Houses Apartments Townhouses Possible homeless/trailer park area (?)
Expansions: Seasons: adding seasons and snow, rain will be in the base game Hipster/Urban Life: Live in the middle of a city (veerrrry hipster and urban.... almost the ghetto but not quite ( h t t p : / / h d w . e w e b 4 . c o m / o u t / 9 8 9 6 6 9 . h t m l for example)) and WORK HARD, although it is very cheap to live (maybe hit it off with the new celebrities(?), OR be a celebrity in the nice part of the city, and part it up! Money, money, & more money (think h t t p : / / w w w . n y d a i l y n e w s . c o m /l i f e - s t y l e / r e a l - e s t a t e / f o r b e s - l i s t s - a m e r i c a - e x p e n s i v e - z i p - c o d e s - g a l l e r y - 1 . 1 1 8 5 0 9 2 . Still apartments, but verrrry nice) Suburban Way: family-orientied, Generations basically, no new world, based on family interactions Island Paradise: a new world, hotels, beach parties, and more University: New mini-world, and you get to go to school!

"I'm a Simmer, not a gamer. I feel like my frustration with the game and the reason I don't "get it" is more about a disconnection and confusion with the vision...I'm worried about the future of the franchise."
I agree 200% with everything in the OP. The only thing I'd change is the graphics, lol...GTAV falls into the realm of "tried to be realistic but just came out weird ".
I'd personally like something like Skyforge - realistic-ish with a layer of smoothness (it's not really cartooniness...I dunno how to describe it) to balance it out. [Skyforge screenie]
My biggest need for TS5...is TS3-like pregnancy. I was so disappointed when I got to watch my first TS4 pregnant sim pop into a big bump.
EDIT: Oh, I just remembered this idea:
Bed frames and mattresses, for the love of all that is holy. Buy whatever bed frame/look you want, then buy a mattress that's bad/meh/good/awesome for it - poof, done, use whatever bed style you want without low energy/bad moodlet.
I agree 200% with everything in the OP. The only thing I'd change is the graphics, lol...GTAV falls into the realm of "tried to be realistic but just went uncanny valley".
