When this franchise is dead because this flop game didn't do good I hope they realize it's their fault and not ours...
TS4 brought nothing new to the table, developers have little to no communication with us, the content is terrible in the game!!!!
Some might argue that CAS and Build Mode are a step up (which they may be) but I much prefer TS3 build mode and CAS. Ik what you'll say "stop being negative and go play a different game", well I will and do play other games (ones that are actually good, lol) and all the "negative" people on here voice their opinions of what they want louder than the positive people that are content with what they have, so a lot of the patches that have some good things are because people voice their thoughts a lot -waits for toddlers-...
So whenever Ea or whoever look and see why this game failed (badly) they'll realize it was because they never listened to what we wanted, and then they'll realize it was their fault this franchise died... So, yeah.

THE DEVELOPERS
I cannot speak for them, but I know that they are indeed responsible for creating content with this game. The thing is, we are frustrated with how they cannot seem to deliver what we ask via feedbacks. But I believe there are two sides to this:
RESTRCITIONS
Like most developers, they are employed by a management or company, named EA in this case. EA is ruled by bosses who make the company run, by making bylaws. This means they control and have most of the final decisions regarding all their projects, and employees. I believe the developers are being prevented from speaking out because EA fears that the customers are too smart to bite whatever excuses they would come up with.
RESOURCES
TS 4 was simply rushed to the market because there was not enough time to finish everything. When sims 4 was first planned, evidences point out that it was meant to be an online game but changes were made a couple of years into the development so EA had to start back from scratch with barely enough time. This SCREWED UP THE SCHED, PLANS AND RESOURCES OF THE DEVELOPERS WORKING ON SIMS 4. So what happened was they had to prioritise what features to put and what features to ignore, to make it into the lunch date and with the little budget they had left. And here we have it: TS4: half bake...bake as much half pies as you want (jokes aside).
Basically, TS 4 was mismanaged, and right now, I think they're trying to get as much back as they can.
Of course, that's not to say it isn't successful because I think it sold millions.
As to why the game still feels so lack luster even with all the patches, that I'm not sure.
To me it just seems to be heading in the wrong direction right now. Patches and the current EP, GP and SP are appreciated but they would have been better if released later and that we should have had SP, EP and GPs that should have been themed based on the missing features.. The fan base wants something else: beach, night life, restos, toddlers...but what we have currently are campings, party stuff pack, a downtown with no restos, PETS being hinted as the next EP (not sure) when personally, we can do pets later and first attend to the much needed things and features etc personally, these are not what I wanted in the game, because they're not that necessary (maybe except for get to work, which was quite cool but man retails and bakery and dr career is just....tooo....meh and bugged).
the demands do not match the releases. BUT maybe that's the best they could come up with cos there was not enough time to make all the needed things. EA is lucky and is hopefully grateful because this franchise has so many loyal fans helping in keeping this game alive. I don't see them fading out soon, but I believe EA can still do much better to satisfy the demands of its fanbase. Whether they will, or they won't... only time will tell.
Just my two cents. There's still time to get better though
SIMS 4! STAR WARS!
Me, I'm playing Sims 4 tonight. The content is great! I like the gameplay, too. I hope you'll be enjoying whatever you enjoy.
The game isn't designed to hold large amounts of content. Python is versatile but it is a web programming language. As in, you use it to make modern web applications. It's incredibly fast, but it isn't designed for large amounts of content like in the sims...
Ouch, that doen't sound too good
SIMS 4! STAR WARS!
That is just from my experience with the limits of python. It is one of the reasons why we can't have large worlds.
I blame the devs for using Python when it would've been much wiser to use C++ or C#
Then that means even future contents will be....limited.
I think this is why they're so quiet. None of the fans bother to even believe whatever they tell us, so I think they literally just gave up on giving us reasons and are keeping quite lol because they know they're busted
SIMS 4! STAR WARS!
I command you to like it....I call upon the power of the star wars custom patches...build 1.9.901291221 through my lighsaber to make this man like this game...
SIMS 4! STAR WARS!
Of course... It is basic PR... I mean, look at Magnolia Promenade. How many lots? 4? They probably tried their hardest to even put one lot in...
This game has made the fans more emotional than our sims.
TS2 had more emotional sims than TS4...
Grant said that.
Yikes, well the past few days have been so educational for me in the forums, thanks. I know I won't be setting my expectations up.
Oh just wait for the June patch haha
OMG I SEE IT NOW! THE PLOT TWIST!
This is what EA meant with SIMS 4 being more dynamic and realistic!
WE ARE THE SIMS! I mean how else can u explain the urge to purchase their games despite disappointing releases each time?
GAIS HELP
SIMS 4! STAR WARS!
XD That's not even the half of it. In the demo, there were references to gamepacks. I remember on the old forums when I leaked the information that I found the gurus deleted every post.
