My Sim's can't cook!

Hi, I'm having an issue with being able to cook. It happened all of a sudden. I can do quick meals but when I go to cook, it's as if there's something in the way. They'll start to cook and then stop. It'll take my money every time. I've restarted the game, even my computer, I bought a new stove and everything. Still nothing. Can anyone help? *I got it to work!*

The courteous thing to do when you find a way to fix an issue is to say how you fixed it, because other people might have the same problem. >:(

Adding to Kaylab's description of the problem, which I am also having, when you have the sim make a quick meal, they don't go to the fridge - they just stand wherever they are and do the animation, meanwhile on the other side of the house the fridge opens by itself, then the food teleports into the sim's hand. So yeah, somethings broken.

Same problem. I can't get it to fix. I have had them leave the lot, then return, but it still won't work.

@BloodRaevynn I restarted my whole computer and that seemed to have solved it for now. I hope you figure yours out!

I had this problem pop up a couple of days ago. Restarting the game/my computer/starting a whole new game had no effect. But, I do "save as" and make a new save file each time I quit the game, so I was able to load the file from the day before and that resolved it thus far.

The most common fix for this is Origin > right-click The Sims 4 > Game Repair.

My sims currently wont clean their house, they pick the plate up, then put it back down, so I am trying game repair now.

Any suggestions on a Windows 7. When I right click I do not have a game repair.

Go into Task Manager and make sure that Sims 4 isn't running in the background. Then open the Origin software, navigate to My Games, and right-click on Sims 4 there.

The fix repair thing didn't work for me.... Or restarting my game..... HELP ME PLEASE!!! I can't use the oven or fridge and every time I try to cook they take the food and prepare to make it and when the get to the stove they drop it and they won't cook anymore.....

Hello @NoSimmer . Check that there isn't anything hanging over the top of the oven, or any items placed by using the moo cheat nearby the oven,
Try selling the oven and stove, then buy new ones and see if that helps.
Sell the microwave because that can cause issues.
Try rearranging the furnishings.

Had the same issue. Game repair didn't phase it. So swapped counters around, and that did it. The Gnomes have been busy. LOL
