So sick of people calling this "open world"

Hmm yeah but this whole thread is about a negative fact of Sims 4 and how the other games are better than this. To me it looks like you turned things upside down here. When you don't want to see negative opinions about Sims 4 you should avoid entering threads like these. I don't enter threads which appear all shiny and rainbows regarding Sims 4 because I know I'd be considered as troll. Now that you are here and throw with stones, guess who's the troll in this case.
Won't someone think of the other horses nervously trying to avoid the same fate? Please people - save a horse, rid--er, hug a fellow Simmer.
Because the answer to not doing an open world right is not doing it at all.
I can understand that feeling as I love TS2 more than all of them, however, some of the patches actually allowed the TS3 to address more than the 3GBs it can use since it's only a 32bit game. That cuts down on lag. A lot. More RAM and a patch that fixed that issue to allow it to use more RAM helps the game and performance. If you have a fast enough processor, the venues aren't empty. I just played the TS3 the other day and my gym in the SN EP had over twelve Sims, plus mine. That's a pretty busy place. Yes, it still has bugs, but I don't have any mods installed. If you limit the places the Sims can go in TS3 by changing some lots to No Visitors you will see more Sims at the places you take your own Sims. Like there really doesn't need to be visitors allowed at the hospital or the grocery store, or hanging out in front of the bristo does there? They can still use them but they won't just go there and hang around, which is a good thing.
No the answer is doing it smaller, making it open in neighborhoods as sims 4 has done and keep the rest of the world accessible through loading screens.
How can you make an assumption like that? Ahhhh another rude person....Sweetheart I can play the game I was talking about the way the world is in the Sims 3. I don't have to like it. You don't have to like the Sims 4. To each his own. You don't have to like my comment but I really was not talking to you. But it seems that some people just have to keep on talking to validate themselves. I don't. I came here made a comment and just like the rest of the trolls you want to turn it into something it is not.
Yes, I do enjoy the Sims 4 base game. I don't have a problem with it nor saying it. Yes, I spent 70 USD on it and I spent hundreds (maybe a few thousand) on the Sims 1, Sims 2, and the Sims 3 with all the expansion packs there is no shame in that because I enjoyed each series for their own reasons and didn't like them for their own reasons. They all have their faults and limitations. I made a comment on what I like about the difference between the worlds in the other sims and this version, you guys want to make it into a hate thread that's fine because that is what the haters do on each sensible discussion thread that is out here. Shame you guys can't give it a rest but I have seen this behavior since they opened this board (yeah I have been around that long). I am not saying I am passionately in love with this game but like every other installment of the Sims I am giving it a try. I've seen some things that work. I seen some things that could be better...but I have spoken on that already and have moved on. I am not sitting here on each and every thread making it a love/hate fest. You haters just can't seem to let it go.
So what else would you like to say with your limited brain cells?
Did they not jump all over you this morning on another thread???? I seen to have seen that this morning. Now you are taking up for them? Interesting....I am not a newbie hun.
And why is that????
How about minding your own business? I don't think anyone needs taking up for here. She got rude first...check yourself.
Your brain cells seem ever more limited, since you can't even differentiate between a troll and someone who is disappointed. Completely and utterly pathetic.
Things like this are why we loved TS2.

No the answer is to keep the open world and fix the coding to the game to clean up the system. You can attach the maps together by simply improving the engine and coding story progression with a proper clean up system that doesn't dump sims and their relationships when the world becomes crowded. You also code the reproduction rates of the npc sims to prevent that. Any family made by the player should never have been deleted in the first place. Another coding cycle. You add in control for the game time that matches with the sims life cycle. voila you have map travel a better function open world that can run on low end machines.
Now the question is why didnt EA take that route clearly it's possible to play the open world with out the problems it's had.
The only answer i have is the fact that sims 4 was suppose to be an mmorpg. If the game was an mmorpg than all the lots were going to be single load anyway. Simply put 1. 5 years wasn't enough time to build a new engine and new game. So same engine same converted game, you have single lot load because ea anticipated for an online game to run things smoothly. That's why sims can still walk through each other. It wasn't because of a better routing system which it's not. It's was the fact to prevent players from getting stuck as they route through the house. Basically we regressed backwards because of the mmo.
Excuse me, bobyo2001, did not troll me this morning. It was the OP (of that particular thread) and a few of her minions.
ETA: corrected for clarity.
No you are the one that is pathetic...Jumping in on the end of a conversation that has nothing to do with you....UTTERLY, TOTALLY PATHETIC. She came after me first because of my comment and I responded. I did not pull you or anyone else into it. You choose to respond and you got responded to in kind.
I didn't either as well - I find (personally - key word) that it felt the most hollow (As a base game) and had the most performance problems, but it was STILL a fantastic game that just needed to be coded better.
The open world in TS3 was a master-stroke that would have pretty much eclipsed anything if it hadn't taken modders/Maxis years to fix some of the glaring problems.
I still don't hate TS3, I hate the game breaking patches and the issues that NEVER got fixed. -_-
Nope the Sims 3 was not all that bad....I did not like the futuristic expansion though....but then again I hated alien abductions....
This is a PUBLIC forum in case you didn't know. I'm free to join any conversation I want whether you like it or not. Don't like it? Message who you wanna talk to privately.
I loved it from the beginning.
Well then expect to get commented to when you come up in here all rude to someone that was not talking to you. You jumped in feet first and you have no idea who I am. Never spoke to me until today and you make assumptions and start name calling??? And who is rude??? I did not call nobody not one name until it was thrown at me....Sooooo.....You get what you got because you put out what you did....Bye Now.
