Btw if you read trough our previous post we try to discuss this in an decent manner, so when someone like you comes and only can use blah blah, its not really intelligent. Yes most people have complaints thats why we try to calm them at least i try to do so. Cause i am supporting the Sims 4 even though i have complaints too. But well if your only comment is blah blah and more blah. Its irritating and you get it right back at you. So for your sake and our sake, just play Sims 4 instead coming in this thread. And sorry i used German right now. Cause its my origin i live there. So i am also sorry that my english is not that perfect either. So we should respect each i took the first step.

honestly I totally feel the same way, but when I give the sims 4 a chance and actually play without worrying about what is missing, and it is a lot I can actually have a good time playing.. lastnight Id played for a long time built up relationships and a cute house, and the pc just cut off me losing all of my progress, and that is horrible.. yes I do understand the sims 3 was massive on worlds and beautiful to look at, but those sims were not all they said they would be, and the sims 4 sims are not all they said they would be either, but it is what it is and ea still laughing all the way to the bank, and that is all they cared about. so until we can stop being sims hungry crack heads for these game titles and stand together and not buy the product what we have to say means absolutely NOTHING!!! ,so you might as well make the best of it. it is your money that you will be wasting if you don't..

This game is AWFUL. Im so sorry but ive tried, I really have. But two weeks in I have nothing I want to turn on my laptop for. TS3 was NOT like this at the start and I hate the fact everyone justifies this awful base game with 'They'll fill in the rest with expansions'. The imagination is done for you - set CAS designs, limited community lots, empty and shallow neighourhoods where the odd lake or small park in it is meant to make up for the lack of multiple lively location. Not to mentione the lack of open world is excused by EA with the ability to move 'neighbourhoods' without losing relationships. Brilliant.... if each one was hald decent! And story progression and development..... where do I begin! That is the biggest loss.
Im sorry if I sound like Im reiterating points and /or complaining but I feel SO0OOOOOOO robbed of The Sims. The Sims is one of the best games ever, if not (in my eyes) THE best. But this has crushed it. Once you get beyond the creat a sim page, which is amazing, its a shallow, boring, tedious effort with a force on socialisation in a game that makes it hard e.g. playing one sim in (the limited) community lots, leavings babies home alone while the 'main' character pops out to make a friend to earn promotion. The emtions fritter momentarilty making any gains from them redundant and the work/school interactions are pointless, they may as well not go to school.
To be honest, Im surprised its earnt 3 stars on average.I dont want an onsaluaght id die hard Simmers praising the game as I am a die harder. Sadly Im a disillusioned one. This game s dreadful and I cant find enjoyment in it. Can anyone help?

TO ME, SIMS 4 IS A BIG MIDDLE FINGER TO THE FANS WHO INVESTED IN THE SIMS 3 AND EXPANSION PACKS.

You're entitled to your own opinion and I'll share mine.

The Sims 3 base game was boring for me. The Sims 3 is what it is today because of patches (that added content), Expansion packs, Stuff Packs and The Store content. Not because of the base game. The base game felt very limited to me. I had a hard time getting into Sims 3 until about Ambitions/Late Night; and really didn't get back into the game until Generations and Supernatural-Into The Future. While I do love story progression and what not, I also really hated it. It was a love/hate relationship. I mean... every time I'd create a Sim and then a Sim for that Sim to be with; and I'd place them into different houses so they could meet and then eventually move in together, the other one would already have a love interest and then be moving in with a DIFFERENT Sim that I didn't create, or want them to be with. It was such a hassle!

It does suck that we don't have progression where.. Families that we do not care about can get married, grow old, have a family, etc.. and move on. I mean, they can have kids, if we play them. And I wish that story progression was integrated where we had options. Family A does not progress, unless you're playing them. Family B is your current family and Family C is progressing without you playing them. And we'd have options inside those options.

Family C can get married, have kids, change careers, etc.. and Family A cannot get married, or have kids, or be in a relationship, but they can age, or something like that... but we'll see... who knows.. maybe we'll get some tools down the road, or maybe there will be a mod created.. maybe we won't.. but within time.. expansion packs will make the game better and maybe once we have expansion packs and there's so much going on... and so much MORE TO DO.. maybe it won't be so bad that we don't have story progression because we'll be too PLUM busy tending to our Sims. ;P

You say limited community lots, empty and shallow neighborhoods. and yet, Sims 3 BASE game community lots weren't much of anything either. Community lots were not truly there until Late Night and EVEN then they were ghost towns.. It had rabbit-holes, though. Fun. The only open community lots it did have was the Gym, a little Museum, and a public pool (That I never used).

And I LOVE that we can move between worlds so freely in the BASE game. When did we get this feature again in the Sims 3? I'm not talking about with the Traveler Mod. I'm talking about from EA themselves. I believe it was ... Generations?? (I can't remember) and it cost A LOT! and it wiped your memories and something else? :/

Empty and shallow neighborhood? I don't know about you, but I see Sims everywhere! Constantly. I'm sorry if your game isn't giving you that, though. In Sims 3, you could garden, collect stuff around the open world, and go to the pool, gym, and museum. Just like in the Sims 4. Except, in the base game of Sims 4, we have Mixology (that didn't come until Late Night), Open Mic bars and Comedy Skill (LOTS of skills), traits and emotions combined.. make my Sims so much more interesting. I love that my Clumsy Sim doesn't just walk and trip anymore, she actually breaks stuff. It's always making me giggle. I love when she's washing the dishes and she breaks one of the plates, or she's cooking and breaks a bottle.

I feel that the socialization in the base game is just going to get better with expansion packs. Adding multitasking to the base game and making it so we can not only build relationships(NOT with just one Sim either! Multiple Sims.. we don't have to "chat, hug, chat, hug, hug, compliment, high five, chat, chat, hug, flirt, kiss,) one Sim anymore! We can chat and have a conversation with two or more Sims and build those relationships up at the same time! Making friends is much easier and making relationships (for me) has been really easy! I cannot say that about Sims 3..., while building relationships we can build skills, and raise our fun, or something like that and it's great! Now there is some things... that I would like addressed in the game and I feel they will do that with patches and expansion packs.

I mean.. look at what we've gotten so far with only two weeks of the game being out. We've gotten like 2-3 patches? That's a lot more than we got for Sims 3 and they've made two chat posts where we can ask questions and get an idea of what they're going to do for the game. I feel they've stepped up a bit. And I hope it continues as they release expansion packs.

I could never deal with sims3, I got bored so easily..make a cool sim, design an awesome house, play for 3 minutes, cheat so their needs never decrease, realise it's pointless, shut down game. I'm still majorly on the fence about ts4, I can play it for an hour or two, but then shut it down and forget about it for a few days before wanting to play again...I guess it suits me in that respect, I have a job and 🐸🐸🐸🐸 to do, so only playing a few hours a week suits me fine.

This was hard to understand. I will say that it seems sad that users of a game that hasn't been out more than 3 months are already looking for patches, expansions, CC and mods to make that game enjoyable.

That was said originally but Guru Grant, he retracted the statement a moment later. He was not speaking for Maxis or EA, he was only speaking out of frustration.

I always feel like this with a sims game though. No matter which one it is, the base games always feel barebones to me. It's the players making custom content, that to me, has always made the sims game more worthwhile playing.

I like a free hand with creativity. Never use CC or Mods, but loved all the choices in the store. :)
