STOP MAKING PETITIONS! THEY AREN'T EFFECTIVE.
but the date is during Gamescom. I'm sure they want to announce the demo during their press conference to make the gamers go wild.
but maybe they could release the demo for everyone in this forum.
This isn't to change the game. Its just to release the CAS demo earlier. Unless I don't understand your post.

Yes for the demo video there were tons of petition videos for it and they worked.
Do you know what petitions do, what they're for and it's process to becoming a reality?
I'm sorry but every petition we've had for The Sims NONE have been effective.
No it was done because many people demanded it over Twitter. Also I think Maxis were forced to create a Create a Sim trailer anyway.
That is because all have been to change something in the game. This petition is just to release the CAS demo earlier.
Actually that's not entirely true. There was a petition once for open for business in the Sims 3 and that one worked. They put it in the store but they couldn't do an EP for it since it wasn't in their line up and we already had a jobs related EP (ambitions). But they do work.
Oh thank you I hope more people start to realize that releasing the demo 2 weeks before the game comes out is a little silly.
If they are going to release to some just release it to everyone. Why make everyone wait 20+ days while a select few get favoritism? Super unfair.
