That's not true. A lot of us got the demo and we don't make youtube videos.
Thanks Fixed now. I followed advise for out of range and also did compatibility and now works.
I do enjoy the new CAS for the most part. Being able to adjust individual body parts is great when you are trying to make specific people you know (or just want to make a more realistic person who isn't perfectly proportioned). However, it is difficult to tell exactly how it is moving if you aren't looking from the right angle. Additionally, it is occasionally hard to tell what ways you can move a part until you've moved it the wrong direction. Final pet peeve: when I am trying to turn the sim without using the arrow buttons provided on screen, I don't want to readjust the shoulders! A lot of the time I'm not grabbing on the shoulder, but I grab too near to it and it just ends up broadening the shoulders. Not the goal!
I think the CAS could benefit from a mini-tutorial for the first time(s) you play the game, because not all of it is intuitive. Doesn't need to be permanent, but I think it would truly be helpful.
Like many others have mentioned, the create-a-style is definitely missed. That being said, I was surprised at how many color combos were available for many of the styles! I was fine with a good portion of them and there weren't many where I REALLY wanted to have the create-a-style. However, I know that when the game is released and there are more styles available, I'll probably want to have more options for colors on certain pieces available.
Finally, I wish the hair was more customizable! I appreciated the variety of styles (at least for the ladies - men were lacking), but being able to adjust hair color and highlights was great in TS3.
Seems that the limited options has been put in to make the game run better on a wider variety of computers, which is appreciated. I would love to be able to play with better graphics and less lagging if it means a few less customization options.
Thanks again, and I can't wait to play the full game!
Also, for those who have bemoaned not being able to play the demo and thinking it was specific people who are always here, that's not the case! I've been playing The Sims since the very first game was available (how many months of my life have I spent on this game now!?), but have never posted on the forums until today! I just have had an origin/EA account for a bit and got randomly selected! I, like y'all, just can't wait til it comes out though
*side note* Wish there was a color wheel...
I only have of issues
1. The parts you can modify needed to be highlighted abit better I was having trouble especially with the eyes I keep grabbing at the wrong spot because i couldn't see the highlight.
2. With tattoos I'm a little disappointed that you can not choose where to put them but there in a set spot, I would love to be a or to move them around.
Other than that I loved it and this demo just makes me want the game even more!!
This feedback is the result of at least a half-hour in the CAS. I've made (so far), a household of eight sims, a household of two (siblings), and am currently experimenting with a third household. It's most likely just going to be my first impressions, and I'll probably post a more in-depth reply later, as I have a feeling this first post is going to be inadequate.
I'll be the first to admit that I had (and still do, to some extent) serious doubts about the Sims 4. I wasn't a big fan of the graphics or animations when I first saw the trailers.
However, after toying around with the demo, I'm warming up to the new look. The sims are expressive and not as cartoony as the trailers made them out to be.
I will say that I was underwhelmed by the walks. I know that there is a cartoonish element to the game, but it just threw me when I saw the goofy walk and the sluggish walk. Both looked very similar, and frankly I'm not a fan of their exaggerated hunches. The walks were frankly too cartoony, too unbelievable. No one would walk like that in real life.
But that's a personal problem I have, so I understand if you completely disagree.
Most people have already mentioned their frustration with the lack of the color wheel, and I expect that as this is the demo there are probably going to be more clothing choices in the real game, so I won't discuss those points any further.
I did like the malleability of the sim, and the flexibility we had when changing their body parts and the like. It wasn't quite clear why some parts (usually when I was rearranging a sim's face; especially with the cheekbones) were less movable than others, but overall that had no impact on my impressions of the CAS gameplay.
I do hope that there are more traits in the full game. The point of CAS in Sims 4 is to create highly individualistic and expressive sims, so in the demo I was trying to create a wide range of diverse sims, from every background and archetype I could think of. I was therefore surprised at the limited range of traits available in the demo. Then again, it is only the base game, and a demo at that.
I think it would be nice if we could move our Sims' tabs (down at the bottom, the tab for each individual) around. Let's say I make one sim, and then a few more. The fifth one I create in the household, I decide, is the first sim's brother. I'd like to move the brother next to the first sim, because it's easier for me to keep the relationships of the sim's organized in my head as I'm creating the household. That's just an idea though, I can certainly live without the option.
I did experience a few moments in which the demo froze or stuttered for a second or two, but I suspect that's the fault of my computer and not the demo's.
I heartily agree with the others; allowing us to edit a household we've already created is a really nice feature.

I will hopefully provide more feedback after I experiment more with the demo. I don't want to let your generosity go to waste; I will definitely do my best to repay you for the chance to let me try out the demo! I'll be honest, I'm still not sold on the Sims 4, but after trying out the demo I've certainly opened my mind and am interested to see what's next. I wonder if there will be a demo for building houses?
I'll also try, as I continue to experiment with the demo, to actively look for bugs or glitches. I know you'd like them to be pointed out, and I really am grateful for the invitation. I hope my feedback and future feedback will prove helpful!
Love the breakdown of categories for hair, clothes etc. The hairstyles are really nice. Like the clothing choices. I hope there will be a way to add more color or pattern choices to the outfits.
I think the new aspirations and traits sound like fun. I already see several of them that I can't wait to try.
have you thought of using bootcamp? I installed it recently on my macbook pro laptop partly to have sims 4 and college stuff. It easy once you track down enough walkthroughs and manuals. be glad to help you if you want I know a lot of mac users are doing this to play.

I have commented before but now that i have been playing a LOT more i have a few comments and suggestions:
(1) Loving the Music - i find myself immediately bobbing my head or taping my foot.
(2) Explored the options menu this morning. I like the lessons - would be nice if its eventually a tutorial but maybe this would take up too much space and increase the specs required for the game which would not be good.
(3) It is so much fund playing around with the sim to find different ways or areas of manipulation. You just need to find the correct angle and correct way to move the mouse for the feature and everything comes together nicely. Well Done !!!
(4) Styled looks are nice - its like a shopping catalog. I want that outfit ... Click LOL. But is there anyway we can create our own styled looks and save it for a future sim if we really like the style we created? Hoping there is even more awesome clothes in the full version - can't wait to see them.
(5) It would be nice for jackets to work the same way as hats do? Maybe this could come with the seasons expansion? Would be nice to pick an outfit and then have same outfit but put a jacker or raincoat over it.
(6) Loving the different pints of manipulation. I understand that having different size sims may be hard (a lot more work because of in game play and camera angels and clothes etc) but it would be nice in future to start off with options instead of a slider (short, medium and tall) or at least be able to manipulate the height of the hips - shorter legs, larger torso or visa versa? Maybe this can be a feature of generations?
(7) Thinking on Sims gameplay now. Have you guys and gals made it so that we can choose a punishment for our kids and teens. In previous Sims it was automatic - corner, take away toy, grounding etc. But it would be nice to be able to choose. Then you can choose if you going to be a strict parent or a very loose 'cool' parent. Don't remember the expansion this was previously with but maybe its something to look at please.
(8) Loving the way one can bring in and merge other peoples Sims with your own family and then you can manipulate the Sims other have created while in your family unit. Thank you for this feature.
(9) Very disappointed that there is no toddlers. Personally i would have preferred toddlers over young adults but its not going to prevent me from buying the game. There will be too many other things happening with Sims that I might even forget about toddlers for a while. Maybe with a update and/or expansion pack though ..... pleeeeeeease, pretty pleeeeease. Though to be honest there was so many things a toddler could do in Sims 3 (we were spoiled) So that is why i understand no toddlers yet ... i am expecting my toddler to be the most awesome amazing thing when released LOL
(10) Not found a way to make pointy ears yet? I can make a pointy nose and it would be nice to have pointy ears seeing as there is the green and blue skin tones.
(11) We are currently playing around with young adults. Will there be more traits for an adult? Will we bel able to get a extra traits for reaching the top of our careers? I really would like that option. Its realistic because after years of experience a person does gain extra traits.
(12)I have noticed some people complaining about a sim looking too plasicy or cartoony. I find overall the look of the sim to be AWESOME. They are more detailed and realistic than previous Sims. The whole point of Sims is for it to be cross generations. If it lost its cartoonyness i would be disappointed - then it wouldn't be Sims anymore. They would have lost their identity - an identity crisis LOL
(13) Also seen previous comments about if a sim could look around less when manipulating them. I DISagree. In fine detail mode they do stop looking around. I like them looking around so i can see if the features look right but maybe there can be a tick-box in the options menu that turns the movement lower for those who don't like this feature.
(14) I know we don't have all the options available in demo but I just mentioning this in case its not a feature - having option to put earnings in one ear for both male and female would be nice. Also different piercing points for more Gothic looking sims (eyebrow, lip, nose, belly button?)
(15) Thank you for the new aspirations and traits and for arranging them in categories.
(16) Loving the walk syles. Some of them are eccentric but then again you get people like this and it will be interesting to use in game.
(17) Personally i am not missing create a style or color wheel too much with clothing. Its more realistic. Like going to a shop and buying off the shelf and thee are so many options for each style. Not everyone in the world can afford designer clothing. Maybe it can be a feature with a fashion designer career in future. Then those Sims who have got that trait or skill or aspiration can crate different styles in game?
(18) I do miss highlights and color wheel for hair / eyes though ...
(19) Can i create my own styled looks? Maybe there is a look i have created that i really like and would like to use on a future Sim? Would be nice to save the outfit to a catalog for future use.
Once again thank you so much for going back to the basic, back to the Sims themselves and giving them more visible personalities. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The Sims needed this make over.
Also really holding thumbs for more in depth gameplay previews before release ... hint hint ... nudge nudge.
You can only search sims using their surname. We should be able to search sims by name, surname and name+surname.
The download/like tracker isn't really working all that well. Some of my sims have been downloaded 5+ times (I can see it through the notes) but the download counter says 0 or 1.
No way to delete duplicate sims from the gallery.
No way to see your followers. I get notifications I've gained a follower but I have no idea who or where I can view them.
