Hey, just wondering, if a sim has alien genetics but they don't have powers will they still be excluded from the "exclude aliens" setting?
You're going to have to ask someone who has this DLC and aliens in their game. I have yet to even breed one from abductions since the patch came out that made them less frequent.
What will get this stickied is if you did tutorials for the majority of the store items that people seem a bit confused on, or tend to be more complicated. Alas, there has yet to be any real reason for such, though.

What other items are you talking about that requires a tutorial? I mean, the other PCs in the store aren't as complicated as the new locks.
I'm curious, what is the most complicated lock setting that you guys have set up so far?
Haven't set up my locks yet - still building a multi-purpose lot that will have different sections, each with separate groups of allowed sims. But i'm curios about this as well

Yeah, that's why I said this:

Heh, I just learned the hard way that if you have a LN bar or the UL Barista bar behind a gate that features a block of some kind (age, race, or gender), the object remains unmanned the entire time. There goes my Ladies Only Club...

Actually, I read somewhere < I truly apologize for not remembering who thought of this idea > on these forums if you put in a back door and put up the velvet ropes to let in NO ONE and to have NO BRIBE set the NPCs to work your bar/nightclub can get in and out with no problems.
NOW For my Nublet question:
I can't figure out how to set the prices for the Tickets. I did the CTRL + Shift Click on the item but no setting menu popped up. Am I missing something?
Thank you in advance.

The ticket price is set and can not be changed. However, you can indirectly change the price with different barrier options. For example, you could only allow a green ticket holder who was also a red ticket holder. You could also set one barrier at the entrance of your venue and charge an entry fee and have other barriers inside the venue that charge additional fees to enter certain areas.

Thank you so much - I thought I was going crazy! I was under the impression that I could set the prices - you can imagine how silly I was feeling. NOW I finally understand <Lightbulb> what everyone meant. So, by charging a red ticket and a blue ticket, that in and of itself raises the price of admission.
Thank you for this tutorial. I was browsing the forums looking for a thread like this. I'm tired of elders bringing in their kids to my newly opened Private Venue gambling paradise. (I'm looking at you, Granny Shue! ) This tutorial has helped me understand this system a lot more.
This was a fantastic post. I haven't had any issues with the Barrier to Entry system because my locks have been pretty straight forward, but I love the opportunity to create much more extensive and complex entry requirements! I never really thought about some options until I read your post, so I thank you for not only explaining it to those who had these ideas, but also for presenting creative ideas some of us might not of have thought of before 8)
Great job! I hope they sticky this thread in this section, as it is quite informative and shouldn't get lost over time.

Yeah. Granny Shue does love to bring the kids to the most inappropriate places, doesn't she?
I'm happy to report Granny Shue and her kids are now barred from my little casino/bar, thanks to what I learned from this guide. Kudos on your hard work putting this guide together.
Thanks for the tutorial, I only recently got the cinema and am just starting to use the ticket machines in other places.
I only just discovered that you need the tickets to get both in and out. I was trying out my daycare centre and the kid and dad had a ticket, but dad couldn't get through while carrying his toddler. So I dragged the kids ticket to the toddler and then they were able to get through, but then the kid couldn't get out until I dragged the ticket back. Next time I'll make sure I buy the toddler a ticket of his own... that's pretty cool actually, that the toddler needs a ticket too.
It's disappointing that you can't set the ticket price to whatever you want it to be (other than setting it for more than one ticket). It probably would have been pretty easy for EA to add that setting in.

I enjoy this thread, though, on that note.

I guess I am missing something really obvious, but I need help to figure it out . . .
I've built a venue its an Ice rink, which also houses an arcade, bar and dance floor room, crèche and coffee shop!
I built it via edit town, build mode, I've set it as visitors allowed ( not sure if there's a better setting ?)
but I just cant figure out how I set the barriers without going to live mode and have a sim do it via a click menu ?
is anyone able to help me please

Ctrl+Shift Click opens up the Settings Options
You can do that for doors and lights, which is how I do all my custom lighting for my venues.
