These small buy/build section icons.

I know this is an old game, but as monitors became bigger and bigger over the years, the icons in the build and buy section seem to be growing smaller. Editing your screen resolution in options isn't really a good solution, for it also changes the entire look of the rest of the game.

Isn't there a mod created to change this?
Or any other solution that will keep the rest of the resolution in place?

No, sadly Sims 3 doesn't support larger resolutions as you can see with the scaling issues. There's no way to tweak the UI in the game files either.

Aah, such a bummer. No way EA itself would do anything about it? It's just inhumane.
I have a 22 inch screen, I want to buy a bigger one but I think it'll only get worse?

A bigger monitor would help but also depends on what resolution you're trying to run with here. I play on a 25" 2560 x 1440 monitor and when I would try to run the game higher than that with DSR, the UI started to shrink so bad it was difficult to click on things. S3 UI is still kinda small on that monitor of mine I mentioned but I can still manage just fine. It would defiantly get worse on a smaller monitor. I have not tried my new 28" monitor yet.

So again while a bigger monitor would be helpful considering you have a 22", it's not going to fix the original issue with the UI scaling. A bigger screen will certainly give you more screen space though... I have a 32" monitor, but I purposely chose one that natively supports a 1920 x 1080 resolution, because I have problems with my eyesight and wanted a larger monitor but one that wouldn't make the icons way too small to see.
I don't have a problem with the icons, it looks just like it did on my old 22" but just bigger. Perhaps choosing a larger monitor with a resolution like that might help you too.

I read that article but I don't agree with some of what was written. My monitor looks absolutely beautiful, not blurry and not pixelated at all, despite the resolution on such a large screen. Text is not smudged nor are details blurred, that is an absolute load of nonsense.
I don't pay attention to the opinions of some of these article writers that tell you that you "must not or should not" because it is all personal preference.

I don't think the game has an issue with 1920 x 1080p. It's the beyond that the UI starts to scale out of wack. Now reading this thread over again, I just assumed OP was trying higher resolutions so that's my bad.

They probably do, but I don't think there is a mod to help with what they're asking, so I just thought that adding my 2c about a larger screen size with avg res might be an alternative. It isn't for everyone, but I started to get a lot of headaches, and found myself leaning forward when playing games, with my nose almost touching the screen on my old monitor.

I just took exception to the article author's assumption that a standard kind of res on a larger monitor means that the display would look like some child's blurred finger painting

Late reply is late, sorry for that.

This is actually how I sit, I often try to find some items in the accessories and scrolling back and forward, can't find it, swear it was there... Just can't see it xD

I was afraid that the standard res on a bigger screen might make things look smaller. that I should buy a microscope and place it in front of my screen to see it better.

Too bad there isn't a mod for it or a posibility, I would even pay money for it XD
