We can retreat outdoors and commune with nature in Outdoor Retreat.
We can live on an island and avoid volcano fireballs with Island Living.
Soon, we can escape to the snow and shred with Snowy Escape.
We can even journey to Batuu with....well....Journey to Batuu.
So, my question is fellow players, WHERE DO WE GO NEXT?
What location and activity would you like to have next?
Personally, I'd like a gambling adventure in a place based on Las Vegas (no worries there as they only pray for luck) or a place like Monaco, a prince of a Principality. The two could be approached very differently, however.
The Las Vegas style could be centered more on nightlife and gambling and shows to watch which would add back the magician, acrobat and singer careers all with stage performances similar to S3 Showtime. There could be casinos with hotel rooms, a main stage and buffet restaurants and lots of dancing fountains.
The Monaco version could concentrate on high-end gambling in fancy casinos with hotels and entertainment. It, being a Principality, could also offer the royalty aspect that some have been requesting. A King and Queen with bratty princes and princesses to meet and interact with. Maybe your sim is caught in a questionable moment with a prince/princess and it hits the news. Get Famous tie-in with fame.
Both have their pluses and minuses. I can see the Vegas strip all in lights at night but, I can see a large veranda off of a grand hotel or casino overlooking the beautiful blue water and the high cliffs.
Where would you like to journey to next?

can the underworld also have special place filled with creepy clown heads? *puppy eyes*

That could work, something like IT Clown in the underworld
If we get Switzerland or Scandinavia or some mish-mash, I'd like that but I'm excited for Japan. Some part of me would like a Floridian world like Miami/Havana. I'm pretty openminded.
It, also would have a neighborhood that was a traveling circus amusement park kind of world (only it never left). By day, your sims could visit, ride the rides like the pretty carousel or a revamped Makin' Magic clown roller coaster (I loved that ride) or a fun house or a romantic lovers ride through a building where your sims can make out. There would also be food carts and skee-ball and the CLAW!
However if you stayed until after dark, the pretty amusement park turns into a park of horrors. The carousel spins out of control and your sim disappears only to come stumbling out of the now haunted house in a daze. The roller coaster turns evil and tries to frighten you to death and the romantic ride is full of horrors. The food carts now sell terrible treats like worms and spiders and you are chased by the crazy Ringmaster. If you make it until morning and the fog clears, everything seems normal again. But we didn't get that and probably never will.
@ChampandGirlie I want real consequences with gambling like a golden slot machine where your sim could win one million simoleons or lose all their money, go broke, have their power/water shut off because they can't pay the bills, etc. And I would prefer the Monaco version too.
I've been thinking of making like makin' magic themed world out of that oh so dull granite falls but i really wish id have actual fun objects for it like mentioned above

also proper pack to introduce zombie
I posted a long list of residential worlds I'd love to see a few years ago, I think it had 15+ entries, some of which we got in the meantime, but a casino world inspired by Las Vegas and the Underworld were also on it. And a space world. (No, Sixam doesn't count because you can't live or really do anything there, Batuu doesn't count because you can't live there either, and it doesn't look too different from the Earth worlds except for its inhabitants).
The Underworld is what I want the most, though. Maybe when Happy Haunts gets turned into a game pack eventually... *fingers crossed*
Edit: I found my old list! Turns out it didn't have 15+ entires after all, I probably just had that many ideas and narrowed it down to my top 10 most wanted. I put it in the spoiler in case anyone is interested, and as I said, we do have some of them in the meantime.
Oasis Springs is cool and all, but 50% of it is covered by grass, and since we can't change the terrain type anymore like we could in TS2, there's not a lot of actual desert. I'd love a comeback of Strangetown, that one really made you feel like you were living in the middle of nowhere, which was fitting for the theme.
09. Atlantis
Anyone who has ever played Alice: Madness Returns will know how beautiful an underwater world could be. Of course everything would need to be a little more futuristic than in that game, with glass globes covering the town, but a day/night cycle could still be visibly present in the brightness or darkness of the surrounding water.
08. Far East (Snowy Escape)
I forgot the name of the corresponding vacation destination from TS2, but yeah, that's the idea. I recently tried to create a Japanese spa/fitness studio crossover, but the only Japanese-looking thing the game allowed me to build in was the characteristic roof shape. No sliding doors, no tea tables, no shrines or anything like that. I would be perfectly fine with a town like this being only a vacation destination again,* as long as the pack introducing it also gives us tools to build our own houses in that style.
* I've long since changed my mind about that!!
07. Habitable alien planet
A town on Sixam with alien premades, but you can also move in your own normal/vampire/whatever sims if they fulfil the requirements. What I mean by that is that this world should be restricted in some way, similar to Magic Town in TS1, because it would be weird if everyone and their mum could live on an alien planet just like that.
06. Apartment world
No, not necessarily another San Myshuno. I just wish we could build our own apartments instead of modifying the ones already existing, and for that we need a new world specifically designed for that purpose. The world could have several diverse-looking neighbourhoods, like an old town, a more modern-looking district, the obligatory rich district, as well as the opposite, a slum. I think Belladonna Cove from TS2 is a fairly good example of what a town like that could look like.
05. Arctic ice desert (Snowy Escape*)
This one would require Seasons, obviously, and before anyone asks: No, I'm not in favour of confining seasons to specific locations. I wouldn't mind, however, if the expansion came with a world of eternal winter, and this could be it: frozen lakes, barely any plants, a hidden ice cave where a yeti lives. Not exactly a gardener's favourite world, but one where you can build snowmen and ice sculptures that will never melt.
* Mt. Komorebi is not exactly an ice desert, but what I really wanted was a cold world.
04. Forest/mountain world (Realm of Magic)
Basically Granite Falls, but habitable. I like the idea of some of my sims living in the forest, and of course I can always place trees and shrubs on my lots, but it looks a little silly when the forest doesn't continue into the non-editable surroundings. Neighbourhoods could include a mountain village, a likeside, and a remote location in the deep forest.
03. Post-apocalyptic wasteland
This town under a red sky looks like it has just been stuck by some unimaginable disaster - be it a meteorite impact, a nuclear bomb, or just nature going crazy, the details are unknown. One neighbourhood sits amidst the ruins of a previously advanced city with cracked streets, overturned light posts, and destroyed skyscrapers as background objects. Then there's the actual wasteland with dirty rivers and plants that only produce poisonous fruit, and an elaborate city of caves built by the previous inhabitants who anticipated the calamity and moved underground.
02. Magic Town (Realm of Magic)
If we ever get witches, they must come with their own world, and TS1 is the perfect source of inspiration. It doesn't have to be huge, splitting it into a market district and a residential neighbourhood like the original Magic Town should do the trick. The moon appears much bigger here than in any other world, and strange noises can be heard at night.
01. Realm of the dead
A world of eternal twilight, inhabited by the souls of the departed, unless they're part of a household elsewhere. In other words: Sims who die automatically join the townie squad of this world, but being able to actually inhabit it as a living sim would be a dream come true for me. In an environment decorated with withered trees, dead cow plants and rivers of blood inhabited by skeleton fish, the Grim Reaper is encountered much more frequently than in other worlds because he lives here, too, and there's a new collection of skulls and other relics of the dead.
Something wicked this way comes!
I don't use MCCC.
This 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Or either journey to some dark apocalyptic world that needs rebuilding. Packed with zombies of course.
I don't care too much about real life places.
and also the world of the undead, it could be based on corpse bride. ohh it could give us zombies, bonehilda, etc
They have some "set" pieces in Get Famous that are for an apocalypse movie so a world would be possible.
I'd like this EP. Get Rich (or die trying) If they can't add drivable cars to all the neighborhoods, would be nice if they eventually add them in a Monaco inspired neighborhood and include car races.
It would be great to have the Monaco Grand Prix in the sims. We probably couldn't drive in the race, but your sim could be the rich sponsor of a car that you can paint and decorate. It could come with a mechanic skill and your sim could upgrade and keep the car in top notch condition (similar to keeping the firetruck ready in S3) for the race. Then, at race time, your sim watches from the veranda (similar to the horse races in the big event barn in S3) of a casino and how well it does is dependent on how high your mechanical skill is and the condition of your race car.
Not at all. Why is now any different than any other time? If Maxis/EA did something stupid, then they should pay the price but that's no reason to take our fun away.
Considering that it was originally to be aimed at 13 year old girls it might be considered a bit too adult for them. I don't really care one way or the other but some parents might object to it. Would it have to get a new rating?
yes. ea should stop aiming this game for kids especially if they want to add an online gamemode.
If parents are okay with woohoo in odd places and cross dressing and killing sims in fun ways, I see no problem with gambling, especially the way they've done it in past versions.
Imagine a Death Valley type of world that was centered around a dude ranch your sims could visit. They could add in horseback riding via trails (like the bamboo forest hiking trails in SE) with events that happen and things to discover. Maybe a snake frightens your horse and it bucks you off and races back to the stable. There could also be equestrian riding like we had in S3. Your sim could opt to "care" for a horse by feeding it, washing it, exercising it and cleaning it's stall.
They could bring back the bucking machine and a steer skull on a bale of hay to practice roping on. There could be a lariat skill with roping targets and/or rope dancing.
Instead of a bathhouse, there could be bunkhouse with a campfire at night and singing by the fire while a cowpoke strums a guitar.
One of the places to explore (like the mountain climbing in the state park) would be a western ghost town. You might get in a gunfight with ghost bank robber or a ghost sheriff. Or get a sarsaparilla at the saloon while ghost saloon girls put on a show and the ghost piano player plays. Play a game of poker with the other sims on vacation or go explore a gold panning campsite and maybe strike it rich or find fool's gold.
At the end of the day, snuggle up in your bunk while a lonely coyote howls at the moon.
