High End Stuff Pack - More Expensive Items

«13
I don't know if this is an idea or actually feedback.

Please give us some kind of High End Stuff pack with very expensive items. Some of my sims have so much money I had to start vaulting the money because they are hitting the cap. Before the "change in bills" the mansions had huge bills which were great for me. I actually had something to spend some of this money on. Now, the bills are back too LOW. Vacation trips are even too cheap for me. Restaurant food is TOO CHEAP. College is TOO CHEAP. We need options to make more things more expensive. Please... Luxury should COST. I have decided some of my rich sims will not work for a bunch of generations and I am wondering if I am still going to be able to get rid of all those simoleons.

I think I want this for different reasons, but my problem is that it seems like with every new pack the furniture is mid tier. Both economically and stats wise. Now that we can upgrade certain furniture, it matters less, but I want more top tier, luxury options. I appreciated GF for that, but really there is all sorts of luxury items that could be added and some categories with no outright top item. Even if it is meaningless stuff, I like certain amounts of meaningless stuff.

Honestly, what I think you want OP is a better balanced financial system. Yeah, something to spend those gobs and gobs simoleons on, but some more meaningful money progression in general considering all your complaints.

Personally, I don't care about balance here. I do my own thing anyway. I do always want more to spend my simoleons on, though.

You could start a retail or restaurant empire. As for money, yes, you do need to vault it at some point, just make a large enough bank to contain many vaults. You could set up a shop for your rich sims and add the highest mark up on prices. They could buy their furniture, art and knick knacks from there instead of the catalogue. You could donate the expensive art pieces to the museums in your neighbourhoods. Buy a lot of expensive stuff and have a day where you gift everyone you meet something expensive. Think of it as charity. Or start a yardsale with no profit, you'll get a lot less than you paid initially for stuff. There are ways to spend the money in the game. There is even the option to burn money. It would be great if we could have a banking system though, so sims could save, borrow, earn interest etc.

hmmm different perspectives. I don't want to have to burn money just to get rid of it or pretend I am doing stuff for charity. I am not looking for real balance either, however I think the balance of the billing system is off. In Sims 3 and 2, I could buy a car for 100k. I would like an option to create very high end restaurants without owning them where the food prices are very high. I mean who goes to a restaurant and spends like 29 dollars for wine and a meal for two these days. That is pretty much the cost in the game right now. Where are the high end appliances, that materialistic sims may long for? Everything in the game right now is under 10k. I think the TV is the highest prices item??

Anyway, I guess my sims will stay jobless until the money is gone which will take forever I am sure LOL.

    30. Ordering Flowers (Not making necessarily them) - Everything from a crystal vase with 2 dozen long stemmed roses to a huge vase full of Star Gazer Lillies. Make them high end and make them expensive. *Update* Un-lockable if you have the pack with the flower arranging. They could be added to the repertoire of Sims who have high Flower arranging skill to sell or display.

I agree! I was excited for Uni because I was excited for something to finally spend money on. But NO, Uni ended up being cheaper than a bathtub.

Cars, helicopters, stock market, more boats, vacations....there needs to be more stuff to spend money on and more things for money-minded Sims to aspire to. One thing I dislike about TS4 is that every feature and opportunity is basically readily available to every Sim. I wish there was more stuff to unlock or achieve as wealth grows.

YES I was looking forward to University for the same reason. I ended up getting a mod to make it cost more. Yes to your other ideas too.

Even with a broken garden my Sims are sitting on $200,000. The house is fully furnished even burning $100 bills in the fireplace. No place to spend it.

It is ridiculous. I am really trying to figure out how I am going to spend over 9,999,999. The Landgraabs have money in vaults too...it is bananas.

Yeah, I completely agree. I find myself with way too much money and nothing to spend it on.

This is why I wish they'd implement a difficulty slider (because options are good) so that we can make things more expensive or just the game more difficult. My sis plays and making money in the game is difficult to her and I don't find it difficult so this is why I say a difficulty slider is needed.

I am desperate for them to fix the lot taxes bug. I can't use mods as I am on console so.. 😒

Yeah a slider would work for me too, especially with restaurants and vacations.

@keekee53 you can create restaurants, and select only the most expensive foods for your menu. You can also go into existing restaurants and tweak the menus to be only the most expensive foods for a high end restaurant. In world view, click the restaurant, go into build/buy and in the upper left where you add lot type you can change the menu and server outfits.

I don't own the restaurants in my games, but I create some with different menus and price points

The most expensive food is very cheap. Not even 100 simoleons for the most expensive dish.

Ya there needs to be a hidden restaurant that you can only be invited to once you’ve reached a certain number of Simoleons and the tab is always like $15,000. My Sims don’t need a way to spend a couple hundred extra bucks—they need a way to blow some big money.

Yes. We need some exclusive venues. @redrogue60 idea of a country club really appeals to me especially having to pay dues to remain a member.

Love the ideas you added @redrogue60!

Reading them all again I really want private school, yachts/better boats, charities, country clubs, more walk-in closet options, nectar, charity, skiing, and theater!

It seems like it should be relatively easy for them to add theater. Just have some GF actions strung together to create a “show.”

What Im trying to do is think about all the things that I have either experienced as a homeowner or things I have seen in movies or TV.

Here is my list for things I want my rich Sims to spend stupid money one

    1. Fine Art - Large Pieces please
    2. Oriental Rugs - If only to get those in game
    3. Gold Toilette - You know why
    4. Larger Lots for larger homes with extensive gardens
    5. Jewelry - If only to introduce Jewel crafting and Fine Jewelry stores. I mean who wouldn't like to purchase a large canary yellow diamond ring
    6. Vacation Homes
    7. Refrigerators like a gigantic Wolf brand one
    8. Stoves like the ones in mansions that would likely take up two tiles
    9. Nectarary Lots - If only to Introduce Nectar making, Nectar cave build pieces etc. And own-able
    10. Private School - K-12, You have to pay tuition
    11. Monte Carlo for Gambling and all the other things it offers like the Grand Prix
    12. Horse Riding - Dressage, Racing, Boarding or having a gorgeous stables on a property
    13. Garden Clubs and Judging
    14. Golf Course and Country Club - Have to pay a Membership Fee and Dues, Also doubles for a nice place for weddings, Ballroom for Galas, New Years Eve Parties, etc. I worked in a Country Club, they always have extravagant New Years Parties
    15. Perfumeries - If only to introduce the distillation of perfumes and then offer some seriously luxurious kinds.
    16. Charitable Opportunities - Like Opportunity Chances but are chances to donate monies to a cause that you might see the outcome of. For example you get a chance card to donate monies towards a memorial statue for a park and then poof its there. Or if an amount of money is reached to establish a community center for elders then poof one is unlocked.
    17. Yachts, Sailboats, Yacht clubs
    18. Banking System
    19. Skiing - Ski Chalets, Ski Suits, Ski Equipment, Après Ski, Sabrage "Champagne" Swording, Snowboarding, Snowmobiles Ski-Lifts, funiculars, Fondue, Hot Springs, Cross Country Skiing, Glacier Hiking, Ice Bars
    20. Salons - Manicures, Pedicures, Hair, Pet Groomers
    21. The Theatre & Opera - Evening wear mandatory
    22. Security Systems & Burglars
    23. Hiring "live in" staff other than the Butler how about a Chef or Cook like large manors used to do
    24. Luxury Pet Gear
    25. Small Update to Spa offerings like the "Gold Leaf facials", Laser Hair Removal
    26. Sky Diving
    27. Master Degrees as an incentive to pay for more schooling
    28. More Walk-in Master closet pieces
    29. Spiral staircase for Grand Library/Office rooms
    30. Ordering Flowers (Not making them) - Everything from a crystal vase with 2 dozen long stemmed roses to a huge vase full of Star Gazer Lillies. Make them high end and make them expensive. *Update* Un-lockable if you have the pack with the flower arranging.
    31. Cemeteries - Has small purchasable plots for tombs and Mausoleum where Rich Sims Families can design and house their relative's ashes. So it would be a cemetery community lot where you can buy the plots but the rest is public. Let's put those gargoyles to use.
    32. Common household repairs like roofing, pest control, Chimney sweeping, replacing windows, HVAC repair
    33. I would have liked high end vehicles but there are limitations to this game that would make vehicles a bit boring. But what the heck toss them in too so long as Bentleys are one of the vehicle styles.

    ALL OF THIS PLUS MORE!!!!!!!!!!!

This would be a good theme for a stuff pack. You run out of things to spend money on very quickly in this game.
