I like to spend most time at my sims home. I only need a few practical community lots.

Especially with Toddlers. I know daycare will kick in if I take my parents out alone for a date... but I feel bad. :)

Also, part of what I do with a home is try to assure my Sims can do anything they'd really like to, there, as well as make it an attractive environment.

Combine guilt over leaving with cozy environs, and I end up seldom leaving.

I hate having my sims at home all the time. Doing so prevents me from using all of the content that I have available, from the different packs I bought. It's also not very interesting to spend a whole gaming session on the same spot/lot. I always try to send my sims away from home when they have nothing to do. But I wish we had a greater variety of community lots, there aren't that many....

I want casinos like in TS3, arcades, comic book shops, nectaries, supermarkets/actual grocery stores, actual daycares, hair salons, etc.

I travel around a lot. Staying on the home lot bores me.

I'm all about that home life. I love having many different community lots and I love building them but rarely use them. My sims are house cats who like to coze up by the fire and watch movies together.

I often want them to go out (to one of a few practical community lots) but often find that, as IRL, with everything else they have to get done each day, there often isn't time.

I love sending my sims out into the world, from festivals to dating to roller and ice skating to karoke, bars and cafes. If my sim has a day job, 9 to 5, there isn't much time to do anything. That's why I'm glad my sims work from home, much easier to sleep in in the morning, lol.

Really didn't know how to vote. I add a few more community lots than the game and all the packs comes with. I rarely delete what's prebuilt. I guess I wouldn't call it a lot though.... I add in some restaurants, a spa, bowling alley and some general lot's that I use as home away from home places usually. My sims travel often though. Sometimes jobs and having kids or doing a challenge makes me keep my sims home more.

My sims don't visit community lots much mostly because I hate how they work. If we were able to have functional independent multi venue lots then my sims would travel more. I'd love to have several retail stores, a restaurant and a spa on a single lot and they work independently from each other.

Depends on if the sim is single or not. Single sims rarely ever spend any time at home, while my couples don't venture out much. When they do there are usually less than five places they visit. This holds true for my sims who are in clubs as well.

It really depends on the sim/household where and how often they go. As I tend to play families, it can be difficult to fit things in so they spend a lot of time at home or at work - I guess kind of like real life. However, my sims do occasionally go out to various places and once the children are old enough they do go out a lot more.

I'm not really a family or generation type player, so most of my households are one Sim. It quickly gets boring on their home lot once all of their needs are met, so I like to travel to various lots as often as I can.
    Sims 4 Wish List:
    • > Option to toggle on/off random townie generation.
    • > Turn vacation worlds into residential worlds.
    • > Option to purchase separate worlds or a world pack.
    • > Sleepwear kit.
    • > Atomic age kit.

Yes, but I am not that keen on sims leaving their children at home while going to community lots.

When I go to community lots with my sims, some of the other visitors at the community lot come from other played household, meaning some sims might not be home when I attempt to play another household.

I feel like I rarely make my sims go to community lots... but only because of the loading screens :s If sims could go to community lots in the same neighborhood without a loading screen, I bet I would use them a lot more often.

When I am just starting out, I'll leave the lot a lot and visit venues. When the family starts to grow, I don't like that I can't see what my Sims at home are doing, while I'm out with other sims without having to switch back with a loading screen.

So I try to stay home mostly when the family gets bigger. But I will use a few venues every once in awhile for family outings.

I like to have my sims visit lots often. It's nice to have a change of scenery sometimes or just a break from the toddlers. :D

I would for sure use more community lots if I pack such as Dine Out and Spa Day, but I don't, so I just use the ones I need for aspirations and stuff.

I always try to leave the house, otherwise I feel I am missing too much from the game. I do not like that feeling, cause I wish i could feel just as alive IN My home as when I stand in front of my lot. The solution: An open and lively world where sims can hear the sounds of the street from within their apartment, see sims walk in and out that cafe or shop on the corner of the street and maybe be attracted to a happening or sound from outside while your sim was only cooking in his/her kitchen.

    THAT'S truly what I want!

I definitely get my sims out as much as I can, especially if i'm not particularity attached to a sims home! It would be good to see a better variety of community lot types but I'm sure they will come as the game gets more packs and EPS

I have some sims that travel but mostly they are too busy being work at home single parents to 7 toddlers and a foster kid or 2 so there isn't much travel time 😂

I don't have very many households in my game so that leaves a lot of room for community lots. I try to tailor my lots to the world. For example I have a seafood restaurant in BB , a 5-star experimental restaurant in DSV, a diner in WC, a Mexican restaurant in OS, another seafood restaurant in Sulani, an Italian restaurant in SM, a German style restaurant in Windenburg.
