The stairs from The Temple of Heaven's small outbuilding led to a corridor.
There was a door and a keyhole at the far end. The keyhole and door is for another quest.
Jared dug up the rubble near the stairs.
Jared inspected a section of the wall.
Jared revealed a hidden door and I could see that Jensen had also uncovered a door.
Jared's door led to a couple of treasure chests with nothing of note but the boys emptied them anyway

I have to admit I didn't look too carefully because I just want the axe but I did see an obvious treasure chest which Jensen emptied.
This room was revealed when the boys got to the end of the area shown in the previous aerial view. The boys emptied the two treasure chests. I believe Jared found a relic from the Dangerous Animals Collection.
More of the floor was revealed when the boys entered the room with the chests.
Jensen went down the first set of stairs he came across and it led to a small room with a dive well.
Although it is difficult to see from the distance, Jensen emerged from the middle pool.
There were several steam traps that the boys disarmed before collecting scattered gems and ancient coins.
I couldn't remember which pool Jensen had emerged from so I had him test all three. One led back to the original well and the other two went nowhere.
The boys were getting hungry and Jared had a wish to eat stir fry. I didn't know it was his favourite meal
The boys had wishes to watch the stars and I couldn't quite believe it when they got into the pool while "watch the stars" was still in their queues.
I was going to send the boys back to the Temple but Jensen got a phone call that Deng W.ang's party was about to begin. Deng is the sim in the red cardigan.
There was no music and no food and my boys were tired so I had them watch TV. It didn't take long for most of the guests to join them.
The boys stayed until about 10.30 then I sent them back to base camp to sleep.
Jared's waking wish was to explore a tomb. I love it when the morning wish is so easy!
I remembered there was a staircase leading from the room with three dive wells so I teleported the boys back to that room to continue their search for Pangu's Axe.

Jensen went up the stairs closest to the entrance and Jared went around the corner and took some stairs there. They ended up on separate platforms.
I sent Jensen to Jared's platform, since his went nowhere without the ability to smash boulders, and they went down some more stairs. They led to a room next to, but not accessible by, the area they had just been in.
Jensen disarmed a trap so he could get to a hole in the wall.
There was a switch in the hole which revealed a hidden door. The boys emptied the chest then went up the next set of stairs.
They had finally reached Pangu's Axe! When Jared got close to the Axe green dots went flying in several directions but I have no idea what they did.
I remembered seeing a room near the entrance to the tomb that was blocked by a boulder. I won't show everything the boys did but quite a few new rooms were revealed and small bits of treasure gathered.

When the boys had finished clearing what treasure I could find, Jensen visited Lu Zhi to report in. Boulder Smash!
"I thought this would be incredible but...I wasn't prepared for the reality of the axe. I do not feel comfortable holding it. You should carry it. It took me some time but I narrowed down my most despised boulder. Smash the boulder blocking the entrance to the hot springs. I desire a Relic within the tomb blocked by the boulder. Destroy the boulder, find the Relic, and return it to me."
The boys went to the Hot Spring and found the boulder that needed to be smashed to gain access to the tomb via dive well.
I felt terrible because the boys hadn't had any quality time all day. I let them loose for some loving before starting the next leg of the quest.
While flirting, Jared rolled a wish to spar with Jensen. Of course I let them because you never know when high MA skills will come in handy!
Although Jared is the athletic one, Jensen won. I think he has beaten Jared almost every time they have sparred.
The boys only have one day left of their vacation so I got started on the quest. Jared led the way this time.

It was getting late and the boys were hungry. Although I would have preferred for them to eat out or go home for a meal I couldn't remember how long this quest takes so didn't want them to run out of time before it was done.
Jensen went to the room on the left and pulled the statue onto the pressure plate.
It revealed a hole in the floor in the room on the right.

There was a plaque on the wall in the room with the dive well and I was hoping it would give me a hint at how to disarm the fire traps. Unfortunately not! "The key to harmony is knowing the proper colors of one's mind and surroundings." If someone else can read a hint in that they are smarter than I!
When Jensen entered the room with the fire traps a corridor with a push statue and three pressure plates was revealed.
Jensen pushed the statue back and forth which temporarily disarmed individual fire traps while Jared accessed the side rooms. The pressure plates released water jets which disabled individual fire traps.
Jensen used Pangu's Axe on a pile of rubble in the last side room and revealed a treasure chest which contained a cut gem.
The room at the end was revealed when the boys approached it and it contained yet another dive well.
It was around midnight and I couldn't find a place to set up a tent so I teleported the boys home and will continue when they wake.
After breakfast, I teleported the boys back to the last room they had revealed. Jensen used Pangu's Axe to clear the rubble blocking a door.
If I'd known the quest was so close to being finished I would have made the boys stay up a little longer!
In my haste to get all the treasure, I sent Jared into a trap! Fortunately it was only a water trap

The boys visited Lu Zhi and Jensen reported in while Jared chatted.
I wanted a quest that would span worlds so I popped out of game for a moment and did some Googling. I discovered that I needed to do a short quest before I could take a quest which would lead to Champs Les Sims. Jensen had already completed the earlier quests in this chain. The Pilgrim's Walk
"I have the completed statue ready for you, Jensen. Before it is active, you must first take what the Monks of the Order of the Resolute Fist refer to as the Pilgrim's Walk. You must carry the statue to several sites within Shang Simla. Go to the Scholar's Garden first."
The quest involved taking the completed statue to three different locations and waiting for visions. The boys started with the Scholars Garden.
Next stop on the Walk was The Temple of Heaven.
The final stop was the Dragon's Cave.
Once the Walk was completed, Jensen's reported back to Lee Yao. Knowledge of the Past
"I think I know who can help us gain entrance to the Dragon Cave! A local by the name of Liu Pei claims to know the secret. Speak to Liu Pei as soon as possible so that we can proceed!"
Jensen found Liu Pei at the Scholars Garden. I left Jared there to get his wish to reach level 6 in logic. The, uh, Potion...of Remembrance?
"Ah yes, the Dragon Cave. I remember parts of the story. A great adventurer named James Vaughan fixed the Dragon Cave almost a century ago, but apparently failed to do so entirely. I...seem to have forgotten the rest. Lee Yao sells a Potion of Remembrance, but I cannot afford it. Deliver 2 pieces of Platinum to Lee Yao in exchange for the potion."
After collecting some platinum, Jensen went to Lee Yao.
"Ha! That silly Liu Pei couldn't remember the name of Al Simhara if you asked. Here is the potion. It should jump start the memories in Liu Pei's head."
Jensen delivered the potion to Liu Pei. Oh Sin Pah
"Yuck! I hate the taste of this foul potion. If I could only remember things I would not need to drink it so often...Ah, my head! I remember now! James Vaughan had an assistant named Sin Pah who kept a journal of Vaughan's Adventures. Sin Pah died mysteriously at a young age, but his descendant, Lu Zhi, still has the journal. You need to convince Lu Zhi to let you have it."
Jensen went to Lu Zhi to ask about the journal. This started the quest I wanted. The Diary of Sin Pah
"My dear Jensen, it seems if you are to complete the prophecy you must journey to Champs Les Sims. According to the journal, I believe the Nectar Merchant at the Nectary there will know about Vaughan's keystone. Travel to Champs Les Sims and speak to the Nectar Merchant to discover the location of the keystone!"
The boys returned to the base camp to relax until their vacation ended at midnight. Ai Pei ambushed Jensen as soon as they arrived. Poor Jared was in Jensen's queue but had to wait
Ai Pei had the decency to look away when Jared planted a kiss on Jensen
Jensen escaped to play his guitar as soon as Jared got Ai Pei's attention.
Not sure how this happened but it started with a kiss
I laughed really hard when I saw Ai Pei appear in Jared's queue just as Jensen was calling him to the bed
After woohooing, Jensen wanted to spar with Jared
The deck was a beautiful place for the sparring match
I looked for Ai Pei when it was time for dinner but he must have left while the boys were sparring.
The boys watched the stars after dinner
As soon as the boys arrived home I used DebugEnabler to Fix the World in case travel had damaged anything but nothing needed fixing Jensen struck this pose as soon as they walked in the door
The boys have two days before they can travel again. They both rolled wishes to join the gardener career when they got home, probably because they had harvested some fruit in Shang Simla and unlocked the gardening skill from Scouts. I know the boys didn't go to Scouts because they are fresh out of the bin but I gave them the Scouts skill because they would most certainly have gone to Scouts if I had raised them and I think it's unrealistic that sims have reached YA without getting any skills! I gave them two money trees when they registered because traveling costs money The boys made way more money in Shang Simla than they would have harvested from the money tree in the same time
The boys had sparred earlier which is why they are wearing the MA outfit. They were flirting just before this pic but when Jared stopped to contemplate his surroundings Jensen pulled out his guitar. I was good with that because Jensen needs the guitar skill for his LTW.
When I sold some of the gems they had collected in Shang Simla, both rolled a wish to buy an exercise machine. After checking out the new object, Jared made use of it Since he needs the athletic skill for his LTW I let them be.
Jensen sought out Jared later in the afternoon
I sent them to the Bistro for dinner
Several sims showed up while they were eating but only Hank was there when they came out.
I let the boys finish their evening at Mick's Karaoke Bar
They watched the stars before going home to bed
The boys had the great quality pear pancakes Jensen prepared the day they arrived in SV. I threw the leftovers out because Jared woke with a wish to prepare a meal and I knew he could do better now that they had some perfect quality fruit in the garden
The boys both had wishes to level up in gardening. They didn't get their wish but they got some perfect apples for Jared's pancakes
I found the boys in the kitchen Jared had just finished cooking some pancakes.
I thought the boys might do better with the gardening skill if they had dragons to harvest the community lot I had placed across the street from them.
After talking to the eggs I sent the boys to the park to meet SV townies
Jensen, being irresistible was soon surrounded by gossiping women!
Dory was the only one who didn't gossip! She wanted to know if Jensen had a partner.
The boys need to get their MA skill up so I had them spar. Erin and Justine watched them. The boys both leveled up but didn't get new outfits.
Claire Ursine, heavily pregnant and badly dressed, walked by
I sent the boys home in time to see the dragons hatch I was happy to get at least one green one for gardening
Although not all of the plants at the community garden were ready for harvesting, Jensen's skill increased substantially when his green dragon harvested the plants
I sent the boys to the Diner for dinner
Although I would never play an SV townie in their natural state, I do enjoy seeing them in a short term save like this

I saw Gunther playing catch so went to see if it was Mortimer he was playing with. "Go home and play with your son, Gunther!"
While the boys were eating I placed a wedding arch on the beach
Nick Alto, who had been grilling himself a meal, came over to watch them He can afford to miss a few meals
Because Jensen had got his wish to level up in gardening the previous day, I let Jared borrow Ginny so he could get his wish too
Jensen was tending to the home garden while Jared went across the street with Ginny to harvest the community garden. Jared got his wish and the boys also made a small fortune. I didn't realize the uni coffees and herbs were worth so much!
The boys left for Champs Les Sims as soon as the gardening was done.
The boys went straight to the Nectary to get The diary of Sin Pah quest started.
The boys had a drink while waiting for the Nectar Merchant to arrive.
Jensen introduced himself to Collette Bonnett when she arrived. Speaking to the Groundskeeper
"What what what? You say you've come here on a mission from Shang Simla? Why, that's on the other side of the world! I remember this James Vaughan from the journal. I believe he got into a fight with Monsieur Landgraab and rescued some woman or something. Who knows? Speak to Aimee Lefebvre, who is a direct descendant of Landgraab's groundskeeper."
I was surprised that Jared didn't kiss Collette's cheek when he introduced himself!
I learned something new! Jared rolled a wish to buy a bottle of nectar. In the past when my sims rolled this wish I would have them buy direct from the Nectar Merchant without realizing my sims could buy straight from the racks!
Jared went back to the base camp while Jensen visited Aimee Lefebvre. Quid Pro Keystone
"Greetings monsieur! Yes, my grandfather spoke often of this James Vaughan. A bumbling fool that one was! I believe I can help you locate your missing keystone. After all, I would hope the people of Shang Simla would do the same for me! But, I will require certain favors. I very much love Opal. It is a beautiful gem, is it not? Bring me 1 piece of Opal and I shall grant you access to the vault holding the keystone."
After leaving Collette I looked in map view and saw two cut opals but saw they were under rocks. I was hoping to find uncut opals so decided to wait for the gems to spawn. In the meantime I got Jensen's wish to learn the nectar skill out of the way. He had rolled the wish when he arrived at the Nectary earlier.
First he had to harvest Renoit grapes and apples from the Nectary grounds.
I checked back on Jared and found him reading a book so I had him come to the Nectary because I knew Jensen would be busy for a while.
I heard Jared arrive and found him having his day brightened
I'd definitely drink Jensen flavoured nectar!
Jared found Jensen the moment he stopped cranking the nectar maker but so did a couple of Champs Les Sims residents I didn't take pics but two others joined the conversation and Jared was pushed out of the small room. He browsed the nectar racks while waiting for Jensen to be free.
I looked in map view again and still couldn't see any uncut opals so I sent the boys to the rocks where I saw the two cut opals.
I sent Jared to collect butterflies while Jensen broke the rocks.
Although the rocks covered stairs, the gems were above ground. I will send the boys to explore below ground another time.
Jensen found the second opal under the third rock he broke.
Jensen delivered one of the cut opals to Aimee Lefebvre in exchange for access to the vault holding the keystone he is seeking. Deep Within Landgraab Chateau
Oui! Look how it shines and glimmers, I have not yet decided what I shall do with the Opal, but that is not your concern. Now, you seek the keystone. The hidden vault is now unlocked for you at the Landgraab Chateau. Go there to find the keystone of James Vaughan.

There was a small entrance hall with a door on either end. The one on the right was locked so I sent Jensen through the one on the left. I wasn't sure which way to go so I sent Jensen and Jared through different doors in the next hallway.
When I saw that Jared's room had a moveable statue I sent Jensen to move it. I should have known there was a trap from the dark smudge on the floor!
Although I won't cheat to get through the tombs I have no problem with cheating to make my boys comfortable Jensen moved the statue over the trap so he could proceed up the stairs.
After I sent Jensen up the stairs I clicked on Jared to send him up the stairs in the room Jensen had originally entered. I didn't tell Jensen to move and I have noticed that free will is suspended while sims are on quests but somehow he got himself caught in another trap!
I sent Jared up the next two flight of stairs and he found the keyhole for the keystone Jensen was carrying.
I had Jensen join Jared and unlock the door.
I sent Jensen through the door so I could have a quick look but the exploration will have to wait because it's the boys' honeymoon afterall and they were hungry!
Jensen had rolled a wish to eat frog legs earlier in the day so I sent the boys to the Cafe for dinner
The boys almost blocked the doorway when they watched the stars. Fortunately there didn't seem to be anyone about.
The boys both rolled wishes to buy incense holders so I sent them across the Square to the General Goods Store.
The boys each bought an incense holder and a Kenspa from the disinterested looking General Goods Merchant
The boys were exhausted so I sent them back to base camp to sleep.
The boys enjoyed crepes at the Cafe before heading back to Landgraab Chateau
The boys went back to the door Jensen had opened with the keystone the night before and took the hall on the right because the one on the left was empty.
When Jensen took the French Dropa Stone of the Fleur it triggered electrical traps. Fortunately I knew that putting something from his inventory on the stand would turn them off. He replaced the Dropa Stone with an apple Jared got a relic from the French Tomb Collection from the other stand.
There was a bedroom at the end of the hall.
After collecting a relic from the bedside table the boys went through the bathroom to another bedroom.
Walking through the bathroom revealed a hidden door. It was a tough one!
Jared finally got it open!
The door led to a long corridor with stairs which led down. There were several long corridors with stairs at the end before the boys got to the basement.
This time I took note of the scorch marks and had Jared inspect the wall. It was a good thing I did because I noticed a hole in the wall when I took the camera down to Jared's level.
Jared didn't have to disarm the trap because a switch in the hole in the wall took care of that
The first door the boys tried led to a chest containing the keystone Jensen would need to take back to China
After collecting the keystone, the boys went through the other door.

Ai Pei had the decency to look away when Jared planted a kiss on Jensen
Jensen escaped to play his guitar as soon as Jared got Ai Pei's attention.
Not sure how this happened but it started with a kiss
I laughed really hard when I saw Ai Pei appear in Jared's queue just as Jensen was calling him to the bed
After woohooing, Jensen wanted to spar with Jared
The deck was a beautiful place for the sparring match
I looked for Ai Pei when it was time for dinner but he must have left while the boys were sparring.

The boys had sparred earlier which is why they are wearing the MA outfit. They were flirting just before this pic but when Jared stopped to contemplate his surroundings Jensen pulled out his guitar. I was good with that because Jensen needs the guitar skill for his LTW.
When I sold some of the gems they had collected in Shang Simla, both rolled a wish to buy an exercise machine. After checking out the new object, Jared made use of it

I sent them to the Bistro for dinner

The boys both had wishes to level up in gardening. They didn't get their wish but they got some perfect apples for Jared's pancakes
I found the boys in the kitchen
I thought the boys might do better with the gardening skill if they had dragons to harvest the community lot I had placed across the street from them.
After talking to the eggs I sent the boys to the park to meet SV townies
Jensen, being irresistible was soon surrounded by gossiping women!
Dory was the only one who didn't gossip! She wanted to know if Jensen had a partner.
The boys need to get their MA skill up so I had them spar. Erin and Justine watched them. The boys both leveled up but didn't get new outfits.

Although not all of the plants at the community garden were ready for harvesting, Jensen's skill increased substantially when his green dragon harvested the plants
I sent the boys to the Diner for dinner
Although I would never play an SV townie in their natural state, I do enjoy seeing them in a short term save like this

While the boys were eating I placed a wedding arch on the beach

Jensen was tending to the home garden while Jared went across the street with Ginny to harvest the community garden. Jared got his wish and the boys also made a small fortune. I didn't realize the uni coffees and herbs were worth so much!
The boys left for Champs Les Sims as soon as the gardening was done.
The boys went straight to the Nectary to get The diary of Sin Pah quest started.
The boys had a drink while waiting for the Nectar Merchant to arrive.
Jensen introduced himself to Collette Bonnett when she arrived.

I was surprised that Jared didn't kiss Collette's cheek when he introduced himself!
I learned something new! Jared rolled a wish to buy a bottle of nectar. In the past when my sims rolled this wish I would have them buy direct from the Nectar Merchant without realizing my sims could buy straight from the racks!
Jared went back to the base camp while Jensen visited Aimee Lefebvre.

First he had to harvest Renoit grapes and apples from the Nectary grounds.
I checked back on Jared and found him reading a book so I had him come to the Nectary because I knew Jensen would be busy for a while.
I heard Jared arrive and found him having his day brightened
I'd definitely drink Jensen flavoured nectar!
Jared found Jensen the moment he stopped cranking the nectar maker but so did a couple of Champs Les Sims residents
I looked in map view again and still couldn't see any uncut opals so I sent the boys to the rocks where I saw the two cut opals.
I sent Jared to collect butterflies while Jensen broke the rocks.
Although the rocks covered stairs, the gems were above ground. I will send the boys to explore below ground another time.
Jensen found the second opal under the third rock he broke.

Oui! Look how it shines and glimmers, I have not yet decided what I shall do with the Opal, but that is not your concern. Now, you seek the keystone. The hidden vault is now unlocked for you at the Landgraab Chateau. Go there to find the keystone of James Vaughan.

The boys successfully disarmed the traps on the front steps
There was a small entrance hall with a door on either end. The one on the right was locked so I sent Jensen through the one on the left. I wasn't sure which way to go so I sent Jensen and Jared through different doors in the next hallway.
When I saw that Jared's room had a moveable statue I sent Jensen to move it. I should have known there was a trap from the dark smudge on the floor!
Although I won't cheat to get through the tombs I have no problem with cheating to make my boys comfortable
After I sent Jensen up the stairs I clicked on Jared to send him up the stairs in the room Jensen had originally entered. I didn't tell Jensen to move and I have noticed that free will is suspended while sims are on quests but somehow he got himself caught in another trap!
I sent Jared up the next two flight of stairs and he found the keyhole for the keystone Jensen was carrying.
I had Jensen join Jared and unlock the door.
I sent Jensen through the door so I could have a quick look but the exploration will have to wait because it's the boys' honeymoon afterall and they were hungry!

The boys almost blocked the doorway when they watched the stars. Fortunately there didn't seem to be anyone about.
The boys both rolled wishes to buy incense holders so I sent them across the Square to the General Goods Store.
The boys each bought an incense holder and a Kenspa from the disinterested looking General Goods Merchant
The boys were exhausted so I sent them back to base camp to sleep.

The boys went back to the door Jensen had opened with the keystone the night before and took the hall on the right because the one on the left was empty.
When Jensen took the French Dropa Stone of the Fleur it triggered electrical traps. Fortunately I knew that putting something from his inventory on the stand would turn them off. He replaced the Dropa Stone with an apple
There was a bedroom at the end of the hall.
After collecting a relic from the bedside table the boys went through the bathroom to another bedroom.
Walking through the bathroom revealed a hidden door. It was a tough one!
Jared finally got it open!
The door led to a long corridor with stairs which led down. There were several long corridors with stairs at the end before the boys got to the basement.

Jared didn't have to disarm the trap because a switch in the hole in the wall took care of that
The first door the boys tried led to a chest containing the keystone Jensen would need to take back to China
After collecting the keystone, the boys went through the other door.
Jensen took care of the heavy door this time

There were two chests in the room. The boys got gems from them.
The stairs at the back of the room led outside.
The boys went to the Nectary and celebrated with the nectar Jensen had made the day before
