I don't know if this will keep my attention for long but I wanted to see how many tombs my sims could explore before I get thoroughly sick of it. I am all about families and babies so this might get old quickly
Jensen and Jared will be doing the exploring. I probably made a mistake by choosing sims I like because I might be tempted to retire them to start a family
I sent the boys to Shang Simla, cheated their motives, and got them started on their first quest.
You There! Stranger!
"Greetings. My name is Lin Hua. I require an outsider's assistance in a particular matter I am not quite ready to discuss with you. I promise you it will ultimately be worth your while. Please, explore the Dragon Cave fully. I do not know what you will find, just that you will find it."
Jensen and Jared had to explore the Dragon's Cave (Dragon's Maw) and then report back to the Special Merchant.
Jensen inspected the wall inside the Dragon's Maw and discovered it was a secret door.
After looking around in awe they went down some stairs into the tomb.
I usually do the rooms behind the stairs they entered from but decided to go straight to the door ahead this time. They entered a room of moveable statues and fire traps after passing through a corridor.
Jared stood on the pressure plate behind a bench near the entrance of the room which revealed two holes in the wall. Jared found some treasure and Jensen found the switch to disarm the fire traps.
Jensen also found bugs
Fortunately he has the brave trait and just brushed them off
Once the fire traps were disarmed the boys headed to the front of the room where they found another pressure plate which revealed a hidden door. They collected some treasure from the chest.
I then sent the boys back to the stairs they came down on and Jared found a hidden door which led to a small room with some treasure.
The exit to the room was hidden door leading to the other side of the stairs. After opening another hidden door they ended up in a small room with a rock pile.
I had Jensen inspect the hole in case there were bugs.
He found a switch to a hidden dining room in the hole.
Some bookcases were askew in one of the corners where Jensen found another hidden door.
Comments
The boys went through a door in the room at the base of the stairs.
Jared gathered some treasure while Jensen found a hidden door.
The room contained several sarcophagi, some encased in rubble and some behind moveable statues.
The boys inspected the sarcophagi and found coins and assorted relics.
After moving a couple of statues, the boys inspected the two remaining sarcophagi.
Jensen got pulled into his!
And was then unceremoniously spat out!
The boys found the Special Merchant at the Academy and Jensen reported his find.
The boys then went to the marketplace for a skinny dip and dinner

Constructing the Vision statue
- 3 platinum
- 3 lapis lazuli
- 1 common relic
Constructing the First Emporor MiniJensen's waking wish was to fish and he and Jared did just that in between collecting the above. Jared had the decency to look away when Jensen's hook came up empty
Jensen couldn't help but look on with envy when Jared caught the first fish, an Ochiba koi
I got tired of waiting for more lapis lazuli to spawn so I sent Jensen to the Relic Merchant. He had every gem but lapis lazuli
The boys also did some sight seeing and visited the Scholar's Garden
While they were there, Jared played chess (he needs the logic skill for his LTW, Perfect Mind, Perfect Body) and Jensen fished
Jensen managed to find all the gems and metals he needed but the Red Assassin Beetles proved difficult because they are quite scarce. It didn't help that Jensen missed two of them!
I sent the boys home to prepare a meal for later.
When Jensen returned from one of his bug hunting expeditions, I let him go and it wasn't long before Jared proposed that they go steady
Zumi and the Winchester Brothers

He went straight to Jared on his return and, after a couple of flirts, Jared proposed
I nearly fell off my chair laughing when Jensen's response to the proposal was to ask for a game of catch!
The boys enjoyed the perfect fried rice prepared by Jensen earlier
After Jensen handed in the Red Assassins, he took the next available quest, Learning from the Master's Palm. For the first part of the quest he had to spar two times with Biyu Shen. He lost both matches but he didn't need to win for the quest.
Jared was chatting with Adaeze Min while Jensen sparred. I saw that Adaeze was giving him grief
The boys watched the stars outside Biyu's house before heading back to base camp to sleep

After he made his report he was given another quest.
The Writings of Qin Shan Hu
"You have had a most startling and unexpected vision. I knew that you would see something. I did not know that you would see... this. It is the keystone to the Ancient Monk Retreat. Use this key to enter the tomb and retrieve an ancient Relic, one that contains the ancient writings of Qin Shan Hu. Bring this to me and I will reward you with Ancient Coins."
The first step of the quest was to reach level 5 in MA and then to meditate at the Scholar's Garden for two hours. Jensen and Jared are already level 5 so Jensen was able to skip right to the meditation
The Special Merchant was still at the Academy when he reported in.
Jared was left at base camp to work on his logic skill. He has a wish to reach level 6 locked in and reached level 5 while Jensen was out
When he reported in, Jensen was given a key to a door inside the Resolute Fist Retreat.
There was a pressure plate at the base of the Retreat.
The pressure plate revealed nearby stairs.
The door the key fit was at the base of the stairs.
While Jensen was unlocking the door I noticed two piles of rubble that I had the boys clear before going into the next room.
Jensen's pile covered a hole in the wall which unlocked a hidden door to a small room with a treasure chest.
Jared's uncovered some ancient coins.
There were two doors (one locked) and two moveable statues in the room which Jensen unlocked on arrival.
Jensen moved the statue in the far corner and revealed a hole in the wall which revealed two pressure plates.
When the boys moved that statues onto the pressure plates the chains on the locked door broke.

The stairs led to a room with a dive well and three doors.
Jensen rolled a wish to do a well dive so I obliged.
I got a few popups about his time in the well but he popped up a couple of minutes later so the well must have been a way out rather than a way in.
I had the boys read the signs. Jared's read "Timing is everything ... " and Jensen's read "Step carefully, the darkness holds danger".
I chose the door closest to Jared.
He crossed the first fire trap safely
He barely made it past the second!
He did the most amazing ninja-like flip over the last!
There was a small room at the end of the corridor. When he opened the treasure chest, a hidden door opened.
When I saw a well in the next room, I had Jensen join him.
Jared explored this one
It led back to the earlier dive well!

I clicked on the floor and saw an option to "inspect".
His inspection revealed a fire trap which I directed him to disarm. Unfortunately the technology was too advanced.
I had Jensen walk around the floor pattern to the moveable statue and push it to the pressure plate. The statue disarmed another fire trap before reaching the pressure plate.
The pressure plate opened a door to a chest containing the writings of Qin Shan Hu.
I had Jared read the sign outside the third door in the first room. It read "The logical mind can overcome all obstacles". Jared and Jensen had to disable the fire traps by activating switches inside holes in the wall to get to a door at the end of the room.
The door led to a small room with a treasure chest. A hidden door leading back to the second dive well opened when they entered the room.
The boys were hungry when they were done so I sent them home to eat. A couple of locals were visiting the base camp.
Jensen had a wish to meet a local so the boys introduced themselves.
Another nasty local!
As the boys were heading out to watch the stars I saw the female come out of the kitchen with a plate of the boys' perfect pancakes!
There was no way the boys could see the stars from where they sat!
I heard noise downstairs while the boys slept and found the male was using the teppanyaki grill! He made outstanding quality Jumbo Shrimp. When he took his plate I dragged the leftovers to the fridge

Jensen took another quest:
Seeking Adventure?
"I am searching for an intrepid adventurer who can retrieve an ancient Relic for me. I've searched all over town adn no one has the guts. Please contact me, Liu Pei, if you are interested.
I recommend you purchase some adventurer supplies at the market beforehand, including a tent, some dried food, and perhaps shower-in-a-can if hygiene is a concern. The general store will have everything you need and more!"
Jensen had to speak to Liu Pei about the ancient Relic. He found Liu Pei at his home.
Jensen had to retrieve the ancient Relic from The Halls of the Lost Army for Liu Pei. I had Jared join him for the quest.
There was a pressure plate not far from the entrance.
Stepping on the pressure plate revealed a hidden staircase.
Jensen used the keystone from Liu Pei to unlock the door at the base of the stairs.
There was a pressure plate and a moveable statue in the room. Jensen had to move the statue onto the pressure plate to unlock the door to the next room.
The next room also had a pressure plate and a moveable statue.
Moving the statue onto the pressure plate revealed another pressure plate which Jensen stood on to unlock the next door.

There was a pressure plate under the rubble.
Standing on the pressure plate revealed a hidden door and a hole in the wall.
Jared inspected the hole and found a switch to unlock the door beside Jensen.
Jensen pushed one statue to access the treasure chests in the room behind the hidden door.
The boys backtracked and went into the next room which contained a dive well.
There was also a locked door that needed a keystone the boys didn't have.
Jared was the only one who wished to explore the well so he got the job
He emerged in a small, doorless room which contained only the well and a treasure chest.
The chest contained the star keystone they needed for the locked door.
Jensen found the ancient Relic in the last room. The pressure plate opened a hidden door back to their starting place.

The door led to a corridor with five doors, one of which was locked.
The hole in the middle room unlocked the last door and the hole in that room revealed a hidden door at the end of the corridor. The boys got a few cheap relics, one collection piece and some coins.
Because it was still early I sent the boys to the Academy. Jensen's waking wish was to practise MA
Jensen leveled up
The boys sparred before going back to base camp for dinner.
Shen Su cornered Jensen for a chat when they arrived.
Shen helped himself to some Jumbo Shrimp from the fridge so the boys invited his son, Zhan, to join them.
Shen joined them when he finished eating and Jensen and Zhan got hearts
The boys watched the stars after dinner
Jensen rolled a wish to spar with Jared over dinner.

He took another quest:
A Curious Note
"I have discovered the most interesting note in my home that contains information about ancient treasures and relics. I seek help in uncovering this treasure. Interested parties should seek Deng 🐸🐸🐸🐸."
Deng 🐸🐸🐸🐸 lived next door to Liu Pei so I sent Jensen straight there.
The Concern of Illegible Handwriting
"It is most fortunate that there are fellow treasure seekers in Shang Simla. Let me introduce myself - I am Deng 🐸🐸🐸🐸. Shall we find the treasure? Centuries ago, the evil warlord Dong Huo stole a priceless heirloom from my ancestors. I believe this note says where the relic is, but I cannot fully decipher it. Perhaps you could convince Lee Yao, a merchant, to do so?"
Lee Yao is the Special Merchant and Jensen found him at the marketplace.
Deep Within the Forbidden City
"Hmmm, yes, I can see why you failed to decipher this note. It is written in the ancient code of Dong Huo's army, known only by his lieutenants. And, of course, myself. I have deciphered the note explaining the location of Dong Huo's treasure! You will need to first find the key, which is at a location I'll detail for you on your map. That key should unlock the chambers holding the treasure. Good luck finding the key!"
Jared's waking wish was to explore a tomb so I had him meet up with Jensen. There is a hole in the ground behind the marketplace which triggers a switch to expose stairs leading into the tomb.
The first room contained a sarcophagus and two headstones. I had the boys mourn as this is often a trigger.
Jared's headstone exposed a hole in the floor.
Jensen looked inside the sarcophagus but didn't find anything of note.
Jared found a switch inside the hole which opened two hidden doors. One lead to a dive pool, the other to a small room with a treasure chest. There was nothing valuable in the chest.
Jensen explored the well.
He found a switch which revealed a hidden door.

At the bottom of the stairs there was a corridor with more stairs.
Aerial view of the area at the bottom of the stairs.
There was a hole in the wall not far from the stairs.
Jensen only found bugs and some dried food
I had Jared dig a nearby pile of rubble.
Jensen inspected a hole in the ground which opened a hidden door.
All that digging and Jared found nothing! At least he got some exercise and, as an athletic sim, I am sure he enjoyed it
Jensen found a treasure chest behind the hidden door.
And a short corridor which lead to a small room with a headstone.
I had Jensen mourn but it revealed nothing.
I sent the boys through a door near the barrels Jared had dug out of rubble earlier and a new section lit up revealing a dive well. On the way to the well the boys collected some money bags, ancient coins and a jade animal from the Zodiac Collection.
I sent both of the boys to the well to see who would roll a wish to dive. Neither did so I chose Jared.
He came up in a nearby room containing moveable statues, which blocked a doorway, and a pressure plate.

The boys explored the new section. Jensen found some dried food in the hole in the floor and Jared found a money bag under some rubble.
Jensen collected a Crescent Keystone in the last room of the new section.
I noticed some bits and pieces that the boys had missed so had them gather them up before going to a locked door at the end.
After the boys collected the last of the treasure, Jensen used the Crescent Keystone to open the last door.
Jensen retrieved Dong Huo's key.
The boys found nothing of note in the treasure chests at the back of the room.
A hole in the floor was revealed when Jared mourned the small headstone. It contained a sarcophagus piece.
Another hole was revealed when Jensen mourned the large headstone. He got a cut jade gem.

The boys had pancakes for breakfast and Jensen rolled a wish to make more.
Jensen introduced himself to Shing when he finished cooking.
Jared got pushed out of the conversation when Jensen made his introduction and I thought the boys looked particularly cute here
The boys shared their evening meal with Shing and Chen.
Jared and Jensen watched the side of the building
The boys need to get their MA and athletic skills up in case they encounter a mummy in the future so I had them spar.
I left the boys on their own once the sparring match was over
Shing interrupted their flirting for a chat.

Haggling the Final Details
"Progress! The treasure cannot be too far behind if this clue is any indication. I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the trove is in Shang Simla! However, it is on property owned by a local merchant. If you can convince Xi Yuan to work with us we can finally find the treasure."
Objective: "Ask to Allow Entrance" to Xi Yuan to let you search for the treasure, then return to Lee Yao.
Xi Yuan was the Book Merchant and Jensen went to the marketplace to convince her.
He returned to the Academy (where I had left Jared training) to report back to Lee Yao.
Stealing the Warlord's Gold
"Good work! Well, are you ready Sim? It is time for you to return the treasure stolen from my ancestors by the cursed Dong Huo. Take this key, enter the treasure trove, and return the Relic to me. You will be well compensated for all you have done for me and my family."
Objective: Enter Dong Huo's Treasure Trove, find the Relic, and deliver it to receive Ancient Coins.
Jensen and Jared went to the marketplace to search for the Relic. There is a pressure plate in the front of the shops.
The pressure plate revealed stairs.
There was a small room at the base of the stairs with only one door, although the semi circular rug in front of the wall indicated the location of a hidden door.
Jared inspected the wall and revealed the hidden door while Jensen collected some ancient coins behind the stairs.
The was some treasure in the room, which the boys collected, and a plaque on the wall which read: "The floor below holds my most prized treasures. It is a fortress that only the boldest of adventurers will be able to gain entry to and overcome. Signed, Dong Huo."
The other door led to a corridor lined with statues of warriors.
The next door led to a corridor lined with statues behind glass.
At the far end of the corridor was the keyhole for Dong Huo's keystone.

The doors led to a room with stairs.
There was a plaque on the wall which read: "Fool! You are no warrior. You will not be able to overcome my traps. I look forward to meeting your ghost!"
Silly me! The plaque clearly mentioned traps and I sent Jensen to the door anyway!
Fortunately it was only a water trap
Jensen tried, unsuccessfully, to disarm it.
I knew Jared wouldn't get hurt so I had him try to cross it.
He got through safely

I zoomed out and, sure enough, it was a death trap!
Jensen successfully disarmed the first dart trap
He then entered the room around the corner and I saw a crescent keystone on a table.
And, once again, I didn't think first Jensen got caught in a dart trap on his way to the keystone
I could see "pass out" in his queue but it never happened because he went all the way outside the tomb to do it and the moodlet had expired by then!
I teleported him back to retrieve the keystone
I noticed a pressure plate at the end of the corridor beside the room the boys were last in and carefully clicked every step of Jensen's way there. There were no traps. Unfortunately the pressure plate only revealed a hidden door to the back of the room they were just in
Before entering the room opposite the one with the keystone, Jared disarmed the dart trap in the nearby corridor and retrieved some ancient coins.
After collecting the nectar scattered around the room, Jensen opened the obvious hidden door at the back of the room.
The boys collected about a dozen bottles of nectar in the next room, some of it over 3,000 years old!
Zumi and the Winchester Brothers
The Watcher's Caretaker - A Limited ISBI
Jensen got another crescent keystone from the well.
This quest will be slow going! I won't show you all the traps the boys disarm but you can tell the number will be great because the boys have barely left the entrance! When Jensen explored the hole in the floor beyond the trap he disarmed, I got a popup that he had triggered a switch and I saw the line of glowing dots heading away from the hole but didn't see where they ended. I hope it will become apparent later.
There was treasure in the next room they tried but no way to get to it.
Several traps were disarmed with a switch found in the hole in the wall but the last one had to be disabled with a moveable statue.
Once the traps were taken care of, the boys found a hidden door giving them access to the treasure they couldn't previously reach.
The pressure plate opened a door to small room containing treasure and another crescent keystone.
The boys were getting hungry and miserable so I sent them back to base camp for dinner. Shen and Zhan Su were there so the boys invited them to join them.
Zhan must be a party animal because he asked Jared to dance with him while Shen Su chatted with Jensen.
The boys watched the side of the building
Jensen prepared some Teppanyaki Salmon for the fridge. Having guests each night has meant their meals aren't lasting as long as I had hoped.
Jensen tossed an egg high into the air!
But it never came down!

I sent the boys back to the tomb to continue their exploration. It's a good thing Jensen is brave because I have been totally reckless with him!
This time he did have room to pass out
Poor Jensen went through all that just because I wanted the vase! Although it was too late to do any good, I had Jared try his hand at disarming the trap because I am pretty sure there's a challenge that makes the disarming of traps easier when they have done a certain number.
I had Jensen inspect the hole in the wall and it disarmed several nearby traps including the one Jared was working on.
Jared went through the door that the traps had been blocking and it was filled with treasure, most of which was unreachable Only the items on the front row of the back tables could be collected.
There was also a crescent keystone which I sent Jensen to collect while Jared collected the relics.
Poor Jensen! I sent him into another trap! At least it was only water
Zumi and the Winchester Brothers

When Jensen inserted the first keystone it revealed a pressure plate.
When Jared stepped on the plate I saw that it disarmed one of the traps
Jared inserted another keystone and it also revealed a pressure plate.
You can see the corridor is almost clear now
The traps were finally disarmed
There was a locked door halfway down the corridor.
I suspected the red statue might be the means to unlock the door but the boys first had to pull the two statues in front of it out of the way.
When the statues had been moved I could see a pressure plate behind the red statue.
The chains fell from the door when the statue was on the plate
Zumi and the Winchester Brothers
The Watcher's Caretaker - A Limited ISBI
There were three rooms on either side of the main room which contained treasure which the boys collected including the Relic "stolen" by D.ong Huo which the boys had to retrieve.
The boys cleared the rubble in the corridor revealed by the hidden door.
Jensen's pile hid a chest with a few bits and pieces but nothing very valuable. Jared's pile hid nothing, or nothing I could see anyway The boys also moved the statues around a little but they didn't seem to do, or hide, anything. Having said that, when I looked back on the earlier pic of the corridor I couldn't see stairs but there were definitely stairs when they were done because that's how the boys got out.
Jensen found Lee Yao (Special Merchant) in the marketplace and returned the Relic.
Jared joined them a little later. I thought he should meet the man Jensen has had lots of dealings with recently

"I am a common adventurer in need of assistance! If you have a desire to learn the ancient art of smashing giant boulders, please contact Lu Zhi as soon as you are able."
Jensen went to Lu Zhi's house to report in.
Sign My Petition?
"You are the only Sim to respond to my ad, so I suppose we are stuck together. A friend of mine knows of a magical object that can smash even the mightiest of boulders. However, this friend won't share this information unless the locals are ok with it. Convince 3 locals to let us have the item, then return to me."
Jensen had to "Request Boulder Smashing Approval" from 3 Shang Simla locals.
Jensen started with Lu Zhi's two roommates
Although she didn't give Jensen any grief, I got the impression she might have her moments
A Friendly Interview
"I knew the local populace would come around to the idea of boulder smashing. However, it seems Bao Louie won't take my word as the truth. Lee Yao wants to speak to you personally about this whole boulder smashing business. Go answer Lee Yao's silly questions so that we can get to boulder smashing."
After convincing 3 locals, Jensen went to see Lee Yao for the interview.
Village Valuables
"Finally, an even headed person with whom to do business. Lu Zhi cannot go a single sentence without ranting about smashing boulders. I will share this information with you, but first you must prove you will benefit the greater good. Shang Simla's coffers have run dry and the city needs funding to expand the local works. Gather 3 pieces of valuable Lapis Lazuli and deliver it to me. I will in turn give it to the city. You will be paid for your assistance, I assure you."
Jared got his fishing wish while Jensen dealt with the next part of the quest:
Once the lapis lazuli was collected and delivered to Lee Yao, Jensen was directed to The Temple of Heaven for the next part of the quest:
Pangu's Axe
"You have proven to me that you would not abuse Pangu's Axe. You are ready to learn about it. It is a magical tool, forged by the sorcerers of D.ong Huo to destroy the barricades of his enemies. Fortunately, those times are long passed, and you are not D.ong Huo. I now bestow you with the key to the Temple of Heaven! Within its halls you will find Pangu's Axe. This will be very dangerous."
It's been a while since I last did this quest but I remembered that the entrance was in the small building at the back.
There were stairs inside.
