Keep having to reset my sims

They seem to get frozen in their actions, yet the time is still moving and all the sims around are still moving too. I've tried on different save files and on different households. I even tried without mods on my test file. What more should I do to try and fix this problem??
Owlenmoon is the house which most values creativity and wisdom. They're intellectual and introspective, and can find poetry in situations that may appear irrelevant to others. They're also good at making things more complicated than what they're supposed to be.
