can't get dogs to mate they only growl

i've tried mating my female dog with 5 different males and what happens every time is that she walks up to the other dog and they growl at each other. i even tried making a family with loads of male dogs in her size cause i thought maybe that'd be an issue and i tried become friends with the male dogs and everything but nothing works! i want puppies!

it doesnt help if i tell her to be nice to the dog before even if i do it a million times

Some simmers are having issues with pets not being able to breed with pets from another household .
Try taking your sims into cas and creating a new dog to add to their household and see if that helps. Then see if the new dog and your original dog will mate.

ok yeah i did that and now she mates with him but she never gets pregnant??? i've had them mate every night for 4 nights now and sometimes several times cause the interaction encourage to mate with... comes back after an hour

If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there

Try deleting the cache files and see if that helps

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

i did all this and she still does not get pregnant. thanks for the help though! guess i'll have to wait for an update or something

I am sorry that you are having this issue Perhaps you could add puppies in cas instead.

i had a similar issue... i'm pretty sure the pets need a better relationship with each other to mate.. dunno about the pregnancy thing though seeing as i can't check it with mc command center either

Tried doing it on the C&D Ley Line lot trait yet ? One of my household is only 3 sims (Main sim, 2 dogs, 1 Alaskan Malamute, the other the Special "Captain Whitaker" a Chesapeake Bay Retriever). 3 tries and I got it. Or try to spay/neuter (and unspay/unneuter) once, maybe your pet got a bad luck. My pet accepted the encouragement from the first time though.
