My sims are dodging sleep

Ok, so this is quite a new problem.
Eversince the new patch, my sims just can't seem to sleep, so therefore they are always tired. I can send them to sleep, they go to bed but after a short while they're up again in the middle of the night with their energy bar still low and for no actual reason. This is getting rather frustrating, especially with toddlers.
Does anyone else get this issue?

You might be right. My toddler couldnt sleep with the cats residing in his room. Looks like he can now that they're away.
