OK, I have a question to ask with regards to career.After reaching level 10 for example on the detective career and then quit from the job, if I apply for the detective career again, must I start at the bottom level 1 again? Thanks.

Btw, this question also applies to Sims 1, 2 and 3.

In TS4, you'll lose some levels but no, you won't start at level 1

I quit the Mixologist career branch at 10 and when I returned, I was at level 9.

Yeah, this is what happens. You quit and join the career again at one level below what you were at when you quit. Watched someone on YouTube experiment with it.
