Has anyone had an issue with Birthdate Cake since recent update?

Has anyone had an issue with using the birth date cake? I tried to age my toddler and didn't have the option to put birthdate candles on the cake to age up. This has happened since the update.

Try to put the cake on the edge of another table. The option won't show for example on picnic tables or in the middle of big counter constructions.

I put the cake first on the counter then I put it on the table. I was looking at older blogs on the issue, I can throw a birthday party as well as reset my sims 4 folder. Thanks

Make sure that there isn't any other items on the same table as the cake. Cooking another variety of the cake has helped other simmers with the issue. Putting the cake into the fridge , then manually bringing it out again may help.
If you continue to have issues agring up sims and you own Dine Out, you could have your sims visit a restaurant and use the " bring out cake" interaction. Then try to add candles then.
