The above post reminded me of one time my mom bought a male size M polo shirt for my dad (it's his usual size), because he thought it was too narrow then gave me (my mom definitely can't wearing it), and I fit it well. I usually wear t-shirts in female size S, size M is ok but makes the collar a bit lower. Maybe it's because it's a polo shirt, so it doesn't look like the collar is low

Delay They do make it difficult. Here in the US they are fairly easy to find but they are tailored for women who are much shorter than me. What we have here would probably fit you perfectly. Most of the stuff available here is for women under 5'6" or so.

Do brands that make sizes in a "tall" option help or are they still too short?

The brands I have found, I've been reluctant to try because i think they may be too small through the bust and shoulders. The shoulders especially. Not only am I tall I'm wide through the shoulders. I need to get measured so I can get the right fit.

In celebration of the Met Gala (that I see everywhere on Tumblr today), today's Q Q is:
What is your fashion style like? Feel free to use pics or just describe.

In colder weather: skinny jeans (though usually have to go for bigger size than usual or regular leg as my legs are quite stocky), t-shirt (usually my tye dye ones as they are thicker material) and jumper or jacket.

Warmer weather: t-shirt and loose 'hippy' style trousers. Possibly a light jacket.

I generally like anything brightly coloured, contrasting colours, tye dye effect and t-shirts with an illustrative design. I especially like wearing unusual looking clothes, though I can be a bit fussy about materials as I like softness, room and comfort.

For special occasions, I have a couple of sparkly items of clothing and a velvety jacket.

Trousers can be an annoyance as anything which hasn't got an elasticated ankle I usually have to alter so I don't trip over the legs. I'm the right height for petite trousers in the UK but not the width; there seems to be an assumption in a lot of trouser designs that short women don't have any fat or muscle on their legs.

Shoe wise, again I like bright colours, arty designs and comfort but it's hard to find a combination of all three. @DaniRose2143 I can relate to the annoyance of finding comfortable shoes. Why do so many shoe designers/makers seem to think that all women have narrow feet with pointed toes?! 😡 My current trainers are men's and very comfortable.

You brought up another problem, color and design. I love a combination of pastel and primary colors and graphic swoops and swirls you find on women's gym shoes, cool designs. There is nothing, or nearly nothing, like that in men's shoes. Nothing like what I'm looking for.

    Today's Q Q is:
What is a fun fact that you usually share during icebreaker games?

I always say I am obsessed with music... and then get told that everyone loves music, like as if they can even compare themselves to me.

Absolutely! I find that lack of variety in specialised 'wide fit' women's shoes too, so usually end up wearing shoes that are longer than my feet if I want to fit a style I actually like.

Any width and size past 10 suddenly becomes monochrome or two-tone. There are exceptions, but that's all they are, exceptions. Why is it assumed that because my feet are big that I don't want stylish shoes? I'm going to stop there because I feel a rant coming on.🤨 I want to be chill, cool, fun Dani tonight.😁😎 Ok, I want to be that every night!

I backed away and cooled down so I don't feel ranty. What I was going to say was basically the problem is the men, and the barbie dolls who kowtow to them, making the decisions about who is worthy of being stylish. We that don't fit the mold of perfection don't get to be stylish. Actually it is the men, yes there are women high up in these companies that go along with this idiocy, but the stereotypes they are helping to perpetuate where dreamed up by men to mold us to fit their fantasies. Shoes are but one tiny little way among thousands of other ways this plays out.

    🤔Ok....maybe I wasn't completely over feeling ranty.😁

I think it was some award thing that the company I work for was nominated for. I forgot what we got. Maybe like a Bronze award or something.

If I were some rich philanthopist I'd invest in a company that fixes all that, especially if you found the way to make it so that "stylish" didn't mean "painful and disfiguring". I have some very strong feelings myself about how fashion oppresses women and shoes in particular.

My take on shoes ranges from comparative disinterest, to active dislike, though.
I have to admit having gazed very appreciatively at what certain fashions can do to/for certain body types but that's more about the boomboom with the vroomvroom, there could be flipflops or combat boots attached to that and I'd never get around to seeing the feet. So you could say I'm not the greatest footwear judge since I am not only not that into shoes, but also think that women's shoes are evil and should all be destroyed by women who Aren't Gonna Take It Anymore.

Maybe skydiving?? Haha. I don't know. I don't think I wanna do bungee jumping or that kinda stuff cuz I don't like that jolting sensation/whiplash in my head. 🤣 So I guess skydiving is like the most chill one... maybe.

    .

So I'd be indestructible? In that case I'll become a martial arts based superhero and fight crime. Although not sure if I'd be successful even if I was guaranteed to be uninjured because my height, speed and coordination would still be against me.

Or thinking more realistically I'd attend more evening events in cities (shows, gallery private views in cities, etc). This isn't dangerous but the traveling around on my own at night is risky in a lot of my country's cities.

Mountain climbing. I am a natural born klutz so this would end badly if I were to try it now. I am also terrified of heights, like pee my pants levels of terror. Maybe sky diving too. I'm drawing a blank on anything else atm. That might be because I only got three hours of sleep.

@DeKay I'm a pro at it. I worked nights for ten years and only got back to working days in October. For the last two years that I was on nights I was running my mom to cancer treatments and doctors appointments so during the workweek I was operating on like two hours of sleep five days a week. I'll probably sleep in an extra hour tomorrow and Sunday and be all good.

That's insane. I can only manage 3 hours of sleep for a day and still feel normal but I will start to go insane if it continues for another 2 more nights! 😱

    Today's Q Q is:

Do you prefer cold or warm/toasted sandwiches?

I'm honestly not too picky with this. I love my food cold, but I used to buy this tuna sandwich in school where the bread is toasted with butter, but the tuna salad filling is cold and it's the best thing ever.

I prefer mine hot and fresh from the grill, but I'm like you, it really isn't a deal breaker if it's cold. I just love that crunch, that's the deal breaker for me, no crunchy, no munchy.
