Can't install the october update!!

Alright so I heard about the new patch and got all pumped ahahah, I tried to download it the other day and it just kept saying ''installing...'' but no progress. Today I tried it again, and I can't! Is it supposed to take long? I mean it's just a small update. Should I click ''repair game'' ? I'm desperate because I really wanna try this so please if you know how to solve this, tell me!

Alright so I ''repaired'' the game and now it's still just ''installing..'' and no progress, WHYYYYYYYY

Have you tried completely turning off your computer and restarting it? That sometimes clears whatever is pausing the process.

I mean, yesterday I stopped it and tried it again today but does that count?

It's pretty different from restarting your whole computer. A full shut down and restart of the computer will clear a lot of other things that are happening in it.

Alright I did it and now when I click on the update option, it does nothing... *sigh*

Hello,
Try logging out of origin .
Delete the origin cache files
http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/delete-origin-cache-files/
Then log in again and see if that helps the issue.
If the issue remains, try uninstalling and reinstalling origin and see if that helps,
