Hello
Shut down your computer completely. Start the computer again, then launch the game and see if that helps.
Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Try removing some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.
Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated.
Start a new game and test to see if the issue is in that new save game.
Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder

Try switching back to 32 bit mode and see if that helps.
Uninstall and reinstall origin and see if that may help the issue.
I have done the bolded.
I also tried windowed mode and lowering graphic settings, and my game continues to crash. (I just bought a new computer with a nice graphics card, so it'd be a shame if I had to lower my graphic settings.)
Switching back to 32-bit is done in the game's properties in Origin (how to access that depends on whether your Origin updated today).
That said, is there a particular aspect of gameplay that's crashing the game?

Hi,
So I never did switch back to 32 bit but I did go ahead and uninstall Origin. (I'm in the process of re-downloading it.) I'll see if this makes any difference. If not, I'll make sure to switch to 32 bit.
My game crashes at different times. I always get through the game's intro and main menu. I also am able to access CAS without issues. The first couple crashes happened after a couple minutes into a household. Then after this, it started crashing upon loading a household -- never actually made it past that loading screen -- which I was able to before...
If 32-bit doesn't help, might be time to look at what you're playing on. Let us know

Hello
There has been an origin update today. Some simmers have been able to update, whilst other simmers still have the older version. If you still have the older version :
Go to My Games in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit.
If you have the new origin version do this :
Go to Game Library then click on Sims 4 then click on the Settings symbol then click on Game Properties then Advanced Launch Options.
You can then change it there.
If you still have issues after uninstalling /reinstalling origin and after switching back to 32 bit mode, could you please post your DxDiag info here. It will take multiple posts.
To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, do this :
Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
Type dxdiag in the text field
Click OK
Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report
Then copy and paste the information from where you saved it, to here in this thread.

This is an idiot question but where do I find the game's current version/update. I never actually noticed any updates... I've restarted my game several times no obvious updates were made.
Alright so onto the next thing -- addressing the 32 bit. Is this even worth doing after everything already done? I'll do it anyway but just seems unlikely at this point. I'll post my DxDiag next.
The instructions are easy enough to follow but I'm stuck on Step 4. It tells me to Right Click and select Download. I am not given an option to "Download"... Now what?
You moved the game files out of the folder on the C drive? Does it have "Install" if not, choose REPAIR. Any of the above will get the game downloading.

Crashed after reinstalling Origin.

Looks like I'm all up to date, as well. I didn't even know...
If you haven't received a message about updating origin, then you would still have the older version.

Is your Sims 4 game installed on the C drive? If it is, there isn't a lot of free space on that drive and that could be causing issues . Try freeing up more space on that drive or moving it to the D drive.
If you decide to move it to another drive these links explain about changing an installation path and moving your documents folder

Also, the first part of your DIAXDIAG information is missing. Could you please post that also?

help.ea.com is down right now but, should be up in a few hours.
Do what is suggested in the link that DarkAmaranth posted.
Then move your documents folder over to the other drive. There is information about doing that in the link that I posted in the above post
