FIX for New AGING problems... EA's New NANNY is at Fault!! «12...Next Go

With a little help from Deaderpool, @crinrict was able to figure out a fix for the "sims can't age up" new bug.

It's caused by Meeting The Nanny.

AVOID THE NANNY!!! (Edit: add @luthienrising 's excellent idea, if you use the nanny, use the cheat. Wash rinse repeat.) /edit

I'm not surprised tbh. They have done stuff like this before, even in previous games.

An alternative, I suppose, to avoiding the Nanny completely would be to use the cheat on an as-needed basis until the bug is fixed.

Knee-jerk thing, you know... bad thing=avoid. Fixable bad thing, use as needed. I getcha.

That is a good workaround luthien. Simmers can still use the nanny, but will need to also enter the cheats afterwards.

Edited first post. I just wanted to put something up showing that now it CAN be fixed, hoping the "sim won't age!" threads will slow down a little.

Nobody else had done a "the fix is IN" post, yet. Why not me?

Someone could use this bug to do a "Highlander" type storyline...

The Has Met Nanny trait is repaired by this mod here, so sims will die and age normally and the nanny can be used normally.

Do the devs play their own game or are we unpaid bug testers? I figured something was wrong as soon as my Sim met the nanny and her aging bar went full. Dagnabit!

I had to start a new game all over again due to this Nanny bug my Mulder Sim was at full age bar then down to 4 days and he drank the youth potion but he did meet the so called Nanny but then fired her cause she wasn't taking care of Emily Katherine

That shouldn't have required a new game to fix. Did you check crin's link to the fix? It's just a cheat you can type in.

If you have kept the save game, try entering the cheats that crinrict posted in her blog post and see if that helps to fix the issue.

Hello @lialia54 .
Is your sim pregnant? If she is, she will be unable to age up.
If she isn't pregnant, try typing in the cheats to see if it helps, even though your sim hasn't met the nanny.

Maybe they should do a little patch for the nanny bug, I never tried the nanny before. I really want to download the mod, but I got so many already inside my mod folders.
