Children Wake Up Alarmed Every Time

This is sort of a funny bug. Every time a child in my house wakes up from sleep (not a nap) they freak out, gasp, and carry on (like the monster under their bed woke them up). For a while I thought it was because the baby was waking them up but it happens any time they wake from sleep.

No mods this time (I'm playing vanilla for this save )

It may be because of nightmares. There has been other simmers posting that their sim children have had the same reaction to nightmares. Nightmares seemed to come in a recent patch.

I have this issue too, but it happens almost every day and it happened to me way before the monster under bed patch and the June 6th patch (I think that's when it was).

Do you have cc/mods in your game? If you do, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if the issue is still there.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder .

Me too! Every single child, every single morning they wake up it's with a scream/gasp. It'd be interesting every once in a while, but it's getting on my nerves.

If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if this continues to occur each day.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

I was having this problem with kids and babies. Babies would nonstop cry no matter what you do and the kids wouldn't sleep. I put whatever that thing is you use to get rid of the monster under the bed and they stopped. Somebody obviously upped the dosage of them having nightmares because I've never had to use any boogie man removers and I've still never seen the monster under the bed.

Yeah I've been putting those lights in every sim kid's bedroom. Problem solved.
