Why is this happening?

Ok so the other day I was playing one of my households. I had a storyline in my head and part of that storyline was for one of the Sims to die. I figured he should die in the sauna. It was taking a while for him to start feeling uncomfortable so I sped up time. I accidently sped up too much and my Sim died. But the problem was that when he died he just turned into a ghost and dissapeared. He didn't fall to the floor and the grim reaper didn't come and do his own little part. Just like that *poof* Oh and there was no urn either. His family didn't react to his death and it was like he never even existed. I thought it might've happened because I was speeding up time but I ended up trying it again in normal speed and the same thing happened. I mean it doesn't bother me too much because I don't tend to kill my Sims but has this happened to anyone else? And I don't have any mods.

I am sorry that you have had this issue.
Try testing with another household and see if the same thing occurs. If the same thing occurs, try starting a new save game with random sims and test to see if the same issue remains.

Repairing the game and resetting the sims 4 folder can help to fix up issues. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.
Try reset your sims 4 folder, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy the "options.ini" and "ReticulatedSplinesView" files and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated files/ folders with the old files/folders.
