I played for four hours last night, and i'm already getting bored of the sims 4 again! It's so weird. I could play the sims 3 for hours weeks on end before I got bored. But the sims 4 is done...is anyone else having this problem? Is there anyway i could maybe mix it? xD

I'm personally frustrated. Lets start with the restrictions of my Mac. It's a school computer, so I can't use it for anything but school. Especially since my program wants so much memory from it. The PC tower in our house has less memory, therefore i can't really put much on it. Sims 4 seemed safe. If I had chosen Sim 3, I'd be tempted to put all my expansion packs on the PC tower because I can't play without them all. The game took 4-7 hours to download, and took four hours before boredom set in... That' silly.

Same, Building kept me entertained for a while, but the limitations really started to get to me. I tried challenges, but that didn't last long, either. Currently I am trying to paint one of every painting, but it is starting to feel like a chore instead of fun. More and more days pass between hitting that 'play' arrow.

Same here. I can't get past how much of a grind the gameplay is. There is a huge emphasis on skills and goals, which makes the underlying gameplay really dull. The limitations, lack of a finished product, as well as just flat our poorly designed and implemented game features really turn me off.

I agree with you! It's almost like they got halfway through the game and then suddenly just gave it to us. I would've preferred waiting a couple more years for a game that doesn't lack so much.

When I was playing TS4, I couldn't ever play longer than an hour.

Now the main reason I go in is to put my sims into more CC and to take screenshots.... gameplay is lacking. There's pretty objects but not much depth. When I played Sims 3, I could play for hours and hours and hours and oh my gosh it's the next day!

This happens to me a lot. I'll get an urge to play the game but as soon as I boot it up and play for a couple of minutes I get tired of it. It's mostly all of the bugs that are in the game that stop from wanting to play and the missing features.

Maybe you're bored because you only have the base game? Some of the expansion, game, and stuff packs are adding a lot of useful game play in my opinion.

On another note, isn't boredom a natural reaction when you do anything consistently for 4 hours? Just wondering.

Everyone always says that, but if the base is so lacking, why spend more money? The boredom doesn't come from lack of objects, it comes from empty gameplay. All Sims are the same, no matter what traits you give them. Sims do not react to tragedy, or if they do, they quickly forget about it. There are bugs that have not been repaired in a year and a half.

Expansions will not solve these problems, it will only give EA more money, encouraging them to put out more unfinished products. Why should they care? People will buy whatever they put out.

I don't think boredom is a natural reaction if you are enjoying what you are doing. I can read all day, or go for a walk in the woods, or play other games, and do all sorts of things for hours without boredom.

I need to buy the expansion packs xD Like you said, they add more gameplay.

As for the second point, I find myself tired before bored when I play for a long time. I don't get bored easily. It's probably because i'm so use to the expansive amount of stuff to do in the sims 3.

Well then you should just continue on with TS3 if TS4 is boring you too much. Or maybe buy the Get Together EP. It adds more fun things for your sims to do.

Boredom wasn't the word I was thinking of when I read the OP's post. I was thinking burnout. That could easily happen if you play the game for several hours at a time.

I have this happen to me a lot... the gameplay is just way too repetitive and it's very easy to start doing the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again... I will admit that 'Get Together' did add more to the gameplay, but even that's starting to bore me now. The Sims 4 seems to be a game I can binge on for days, but eventually grow bored of. When I play Sims 3, it seems like I can play for weeks before I even start to feel bored. Even so, I always manage to find SOMETHING in Sims 3 that I can do to prevent that from happening. The Sims 4 simply doesn't have much to offer (even with expansion packs). We need some kind of hobbies game pack or something like that. It would be nice for our Sims to actually have more things to do... wasn't that supposed to be the whole point of 'Get Together' in the first place?

I just don't understand why Sims 2 and Sims 3 never made me feel this way, but Sims 4 does. I honestly do believe it's the lack of content and features. The previous games didn't lack nearly as many things.

Not at all. I've been playing since 7:30 tonight. It's now twenty after twelve and I have to be up at 7:30 in the morning. Just thought I'd check the forums before heading to bed. I'm sure others do the same, play for long stretches, without getting bored, as well as those who consistently play 2 and 3.

No because I never, ever get bored after only 4 hours while playing TS3. I'm still on a roll usually after playing all day, or all night. eta: on TS3 after 4 hours of play, I'm just beginning.

This is also true. I admit I get burned out on TS3 at times, likely from playing so much at drawn-out durations.

Nope, I've played The Sims 4 for 10 hours a day on my school break when it first released, didn't get bored cause I was enjoying it to much, Boredom is a natural thing but it usually only happens when you're either not getting enough enjoyment out of something or you've done it repetitively, there are other reasons for being bored of course.

I've noticed this happening a lot with sims 4, when a pack comes they have fun with it for maybe a few days to a week then right back on the forums wanting to know when the next pack is coming out. I say either take a break from the game or try some callenges..those are fun.

Yes, I've been noticing this more as years go by with all games on different forums, it's pretty natural, especially since us Humans subjectively had a short attention span, it varies with people though.
