I normally do not use money cheats in my game, but I was thinking of introducing a lottery drawing. Each week, I could subtract $10 from my Sim, write down a number between 1 - 100, and roll a d100 generator. If I guess correctly, my Sim wins lots of money.
Does anyone else do anything like this?
Here is a link to the generator, you have to change the last die to the 100.

Anytime I've used the money cheats, I always have a backstory in my head that the Sim(s) received an inheritence from a deceased family member.
And if you got Into the Future, you could find out the winning numbers, go back to the past and use that to win. I did that a couple of times.

really? funny.
I didnt play with into the future much, cause i thought it was a bit strange. I only liked the big windows and the modern objects we got with them. Not the hight tech alien like ones.
I was also too busy with ts4 at that time probably to still enjoy the sims 3 and its last expansions. Now i wished i waited longer to start playing with ts4 since it was s disappointing

I believe the lotto came with Into the Future. You could go to the grocery store and buy a ticket. To increase your odds of winning you could go to the future, go into the building at the end of the strip (I can't remember the name of it but I think it's where you also can set the fireworks. City Hall Maybe.) You get the option of checking winning lottery numbers. You may have to try several times, because you don't always get them right off. Then go back to your hometown, buy the ticket and you can win a ton of Simoleons. Sometimes you only get a small amount, sometimes it's a lot.
I don't do it but's a fun idea! I wish we had lotto in TS4 like we had in TS3 Into the Future. I'd also like casinos back.
Maybe if someone ( a modder) can adapt those systems programming for Sims 4 - you could get that in game.

I really liked Into the Future. Played it quite a bit. There were all sorts of interesting things related to it--you could alter your Sim's past, ruin the city's future or make it a utopia by doing certain things in the future. For a sci-fi lover, it was pretty awesome, really.

I really wanted to like Island Paradise. Really. But it was soooo buggy on my game. Of course, I think I had all of the xpacks installed at the time, but it lagged so awfully in my game, I could hardly do anything.

If I'm following you, I think you mean, they would pick the future stuff up, put it in their inventory and then sell it off for the simoleans? If so, then yeah, you could do that. The first future you go to is pretty Utopian--things are very pleasant, everything looks pretty and bright, and pretty much all the objects can be taken by anyone. So you can take a futuristic computer and sell it, then just pick up another one for your use somewhere else. Same with hoverboards, those silly little digital pets, etc. So, I guess that's one way to make a bunch of money.

Same for me. I never had any of the glitches or problems with TS3 that other people talked about - until installing IP. Then it lagged very badly. I also had every previous pack installed at that point, so that may have contributed to it. The routing was also terrible, I remember it took forever to get anywhere.
Yeah and Into the future added a feature to where you could dig up old winning records.
I had some regular issues come up with TS3--some lagging, some bugginess, and rendering lots was incredibly slow sometimes, especially with how much I used CASt, particularly with my Architect sim. But IP was a special kind of buggy. XD I made this gorgeous houseboat and so wanted to play on it, wanted to find the mermaids, and do all the fun promoted stuff but I just couldn't handle how much lag there was. I heard there was a work-around. Something to do with deleting all the houseboats but yours, but I never bothered. The last time I played it, I would cue 3 or 4 things up for my sim to do and my game would freeze for 3 seconds between every activity. I just removed IP and went back to my other xpacks that worked.
