Don't get me wrong, I love TS4, but lately I've just been a little bored with it. I can't play my game for more than 30 minutes each day, and it just feels like somethings missing. I seriously hope the gurus are planning a new GP, because I honestly don't feel any inclination to play anymore.
we way too young to get old

Every motive always full or not really pressing them is not fun to me. I still hold to the old ways this game was built upon. The reason I want a promotion is so I can buy better things and keep them happier longer, but in this game they are already happy and full of fun, so it really doesn't matter. This is one reason I am bored with TS3 and TS4.
They don't really actually 'need' anything anymore since they changed why we work so hard to keep them happy.
If you are a player like me, I'm always looking for something to cause chaos, make me get an evil laugh. I did erase several Sims memory, because they figured out by accident the Sim I was using was an alien. Can't have that, so call them up, invite over, nice looking girl or guy looks perfectly normal. Oh, you think I am an alien? Let me show you something. Here's my probe! Now, what were you saying? No, you have never met me, good day sir, madam. Memory erased.
It is a big problem because they really don't need me at all. And that is one reason I get very bored sometimes. I like the challenge of figuring out ways to make them really miserable and or help them actually become happy. And I will say it again without life being based upon failure and success then there is no sweet victory when you already have everything you need. And I can just let it run and walk away. No failure in their lives that stick around enough to harm them. No way I would ever do that in the TS1 or TS2. This game is a cupcake.

I've comfort eaten my way through 32 pillows.
I've pondered smothering my mattress with tomato ketchup - except I can't fit it in my mouth.
Meanwhile... yes, I've walked away leaving TS4 running many times and it's not something I ever would've done (or considered doing) with TS2 or TS3.
If you have to ask, then yes you are.

And to make things worse, their EP planning is bad. The Get to Work concept just doesn't work with a closed world, IMHO. It's way too restricting when you're limited to one lot for the entire day. The scripted/linear gameplay is boring and yet they've thrown it in even after fans criticized against it. That aside, it shouldn't have even been a first expansion.
That's a big component of what is missing in TS4 (and TS3 on smaller level) for me. I think EA took the "wah wah I have to make my sim go to the bathroom before they go to bed wah wah it's so hard why can't I just play without having to ever pee wah wah" throw away comments from a few TS2 players to an extreme place and now we've got self-sufficient sims that don't need any player intervention at all.
Why on Earth they would ever think simmers want to play a game where they can walk away for hours at a time while it's running and come back to find everything just trucking along fine without them I'll never know. It's the real life equivalent of leaving the TV on when you go to work and calling it a game.
If it wasn't for the time bug, I would have probably been still playing it.
That just about sums up the TS3 and TS4 for me. I can see it now if I had forgot to put my game on pause in the TS2. The house would have been on fire, grandma dead, vamps castles ablaze and all of them burning down and I would have to mark it up their neighbor visiting was really a vampire hunter. Social worker would be parked outside taking my Sim kids, and toddler would be laying in the floor because everyone else was dead, lol, in their own pee, and puke from drinking a bad bottle.
I miss those days. I want a game that matters, not Happyville.
Sims 4 is great, It just needs things. That goodness we still have the old games to go back and satisfy our Simming needs
So am I bored....not for long
I tried to have fun with it in different ways but meh, it's not really working out. And I doubt buying the GP and EP will make it any fun.
I build more than I play now, and at that maybe only a few hours a week or three. Building isn't even all that fun with the limited amount of base content, even with buydebug and unhidden objects. I refuse to spend more money for just a few build/buy items that they have added so far through ep & gp.
... and since I'm grumpy because of s4 ....
What's with the never dying plants, unless completely neglected. That was half the fun of sim gardening in the past was that plants weren't semi-permanent. Then there's how fast the cow plant dies, even if you devote a sim to constantly care for it.
I think civ4 is in order for the afternoon ........
