"Tried" being I got the plans online and attempted to faithfully recreate it in-game (I failed tho since I ended up changing its floor plan lol). Here's Mediterranean McMansion.
Firstly, I'm going out to say that I am not doing the tacky McMansion Hell™ ones. I mean, I tried! But I quickly found out that I cannot make myself build something so uniquely bad it’s good. Usually, it’s just bad lol. Instead, we're going for the ones that are borderline mansion-ish. One whose family was like "It looks vaguely Spanish Revival so we're sticking with that theme and going all the way! Get in the car kids, we're going to Joann's or Hobby Lobby and reupholster everything to match tonight!"
Secondly, *slaps roof* check out this bad boy!
17 roof pieces, baby! Only took me all night and handfuls of hair to figure out. (Wonder how leaky the real one would be?)
And now for the tour!
It seems to me that McMansions are built for cars (with their owners as an afterthought) lol so I made sure the house gets an enormous driveway and what was originally a three-car garage. The Porsche and Camaro get to be parked outside, of course, for all the neighborhood to see.
But the garage hides the family's little secret—the Cube and also a converted home gym.
This is half of the Great Room.
That door over there leads to the Master's Bedroom.
In my mind, this was the parent's room. But the teenage daughter's toddler sibling keeps waking her up in the middle of the night. She got so sick of it so she asked mommy and daddy to switch rooms with her.
It has its own bath-spa.
The other end of the great room leads to the kitchen/dining area.
And this hallway.
Which leads to the now-the-parents' room.
The toddler's bedroom.
And their common toilet and bath.
Is it really a McMansion if it doesn't have a tower??? In this build, it's a three-story stairwell for a two-story house!
It leads to the fourth bedroom which this family has converted into a media room.
It has its own kitchenette (with a popcorn...thing...) and a half bath (not shown)!
Out back, there's a lap pool and a porch with a grill and al-fresco dining and a pingpong table.
That's pretty much it for this build. I hope you enjoyed reading and were able to spot the McMansion "features" I retained:
1. House too big for its lot
2. Looks like many small houses mashed together to form one big mass
4. Has an attached two or three-car garage
5. Has curb appeal but
6. The other sides of the house look less polished and are often windowless.

It is a lovely mordern starter!
