Hello all,
ANNOUNCEMENT (20.06.2015): I am in the process of updating this thread, so be warned that some of the cards listed here may no longer be supported! Bare with me

Some of you may remember my previous “Supported Graphics Card List” that was created for The Sims 3, a semi-unofficial fan-made list of graphics cards that had been confirmed to work with the game. I’m back again with a new list (the full list will be coming soon) of graphics cards that are confirmed to work with The Sims 4, including some information of what kind of performance to expect.
The following list is now complete! (as far as I know)
=============================Key:
BLACK = Cards that meet the recommended requirements
ORANGE = Cards that will play The Sims 4, but not at higher graphical settings.
RED = Cards that will only play at lower graphical settings, but may not be supported.
"~" = Represents a number in the model name (usually 0, 3, 5, 7, or 9)
"{ _ _ }" = Cards which are supported but are also overpowered. They will run the game perfectly fine, however we do not want people buying these expensive cards just for the game.

Seeing as this thread is a work in progress, here is what I hope to achieve in the future:
- A full list of supported Windows desktop and laptop graphics cards Done!
- A system whereby the performance of most cards is tested in The Sims 4, which would require participation from other Simmers See below... (or click this link)
- A list of supported Mac OSX graphics cards (when EA decide to release the Mac version) Click here for the Mac Supported List.
- A recommendation service for potential graphics cards upgrades
- This thread is stickied so that it can be easily accessed.
Stay posted, and keep on simming,
Cody & the rest of the team

Update Log:
=============================
UPDATE: I have finished adding all of the supported graphics cards. If you think yours is not on this list and should be, then reply here and I'll check. Also watch out as some manufacturers will use different names for the same graphics card.
ANNOUNCEMENT (09.08.2014): EA have recently released a patch which now means the Intel HD series of graphics chips should now be better supported in the game.
ANNOUNCEMENT (10.11.2014): The Pools Patch seems to be causing issues for simmers using the Intel HD series of graphics chips - for some, the game still works, but for others they can no longer play the game for various reasons.
=============================
BLURRY GRAPHICS? - If your card is supported on this list, but you seem to be getting blurry graphics, make sure to uncheck the tickbox for "Post Production Effects" in your graphics settings. I hope this helps!

Now we have a supported card list based off information from the EA data files from the game among other sources (including my own judgement), but I think it’s time we tested whether their apparent performance is true in the real world playing of the game.
If you are happy to help us out, please fill in the following questionnaire (we won’t collect any personal data about you, don’t worry – completely anonymous).
The Sims 4 Supported Card List – Performance Form
NOTE: If you're filling in this form, please have the FPS information with you, as this is important for filling out this form - please don't skip this section. Information about this is below.
Information for Questionnaire:
FPS monitor – The Sims 4 has an in-game frames-per-second monitor, which can be activated by pressing the ‘Ctrl + Alt + C’ buttons at the same time. Then type in “fps on”, and the monitor should appear in the bottom left hand corner.
Average FPS – in order to fill out the last part of the questionnaire, I would like you to play around for 5-10 minutes; follow your Sims around the town, zoom in and out, watch them potter about in their house, whatever you would do in a normal game. Whilst doing so, watch the FPS monitor, and record the average FPS your game plays at each of the graphics quality presets, or basically an estimate of the FPS average value if it is fluctuating.
Graphics Quality Presets – the graphics quality options can be found by doing Menu > Game Options > Graphics > Graphics Quality. This drop down box should have four options: ‘Low’, ‘Medium’, ‘High’ and ‘Ultra’. These correspond to the respective boxes to fill out in the questionnaire.
Already stable at high? – if you receive 40 FPS or more before testing at high or ultra settings, feel free to skip testing at low or medium settings if you wish. But the more information we have, the better, even if it’s 300FPS at low settings.
My… game… is… lagging… - if at any point during one of the graphics quality preset tests your average FPS is less than 20, then feel free to stop there. For example, I get an average of 18 FPS whilst playing at Medium graphics, then I don’t need to do the graphics settings test at High settings.
Thanks for your help!

Are you going to test at a common resolution? Using different resolutions will make the results not directly comparable and throw them around more. Of course, the different CPUs and such will make them not directly comparable as it is, too.
Are you going to try and test each GPU at the different presets, or are you just aiming to see whether they'll play at a given (the highest?) settings level? I just want to add a very minor note that the GeForce GT 740 is basically a rebranded GeForce GTX 650 (I think maybe the former is clocked a bit lower but this shouldn't impact performance much worth noting). If the one plays fine, the other shouldn't struggle any more at higher settings (referring to the different color brackets you have them in).
I also believe these cards compete more with the Radeon R7 250/250X series, so again, that might indicate the Radeon R7 260 series should be more okay, but that part is pure speculation on my part, as this is a new game and they are different GPUs.
The bit about the GeForce GTX 650 and GeForce GT 740 should still stand though as they are practically identical GPUs.
I probably won't have the game for a little while yet, but if anyone doesn't have results for the lowly Intel HD 4400 by then, I can give you those if you want, haha. My desktop has a GeForce GTX 560 Ti (looking to upgrade in a few months though) which I'm sure will be fine anyway, so I doubt you'll need results from me there. I also have another older PC with a Core 2 Duo E8600, 8GB RAM, and a GeForce GT 430, which I'm kind of interested myself as to how well that'll run (purely out of curiosity), if you're interested.
I have some plans for this, so thanks for your input. Expect an update within a few days after the game is released.
This thread is very much a work-in-progress (WIP - its in the thread title), so these are just some basic ideas as the game has not yet been released, so no one really knows for certain how things will work. I expect that there will be a lot of shifting between what cards can play at what settings in the next month or so as it gets updated.
But I appreciate any helpful comments people have, so thanks.

I don't know if this will help.
Thanks for the link - it may be rather useful for future updates. I agree the information in it is quite hard to understand, and I've also noticed there are some problems with the specificity of most of the AMD cards on that list.
I should have an update out in the next few days.

hard to say the demo doesnt have most of the animations etc
I'm one of the folks crossing my fingers... haha
They're not listed.
How will the Sims 4 run on my laptop?
Thanks :)
Hello,
The list is going to be updated in the next few days, so you may not see all the supported cards listed on here yet. I would expect you can play the base game at medium settings, however this could go to low-medium as EPs and SPs are added. I would also suggest investing in a laptop cooling pad to prevent overheating.
I hope this helps,
Cody
