I am currently building a new world but have a few problems: -
1. Tents - is it possible to have an erected tent on a community lot?
I tried changing the lot type to an occupied residential lot and placed an erected tent then evicted the tenant and changed it back to a community lot; however the next time I edited in game, the tent became a 'bag' again with no interactions for a sim to do e.g. place the tent.
2. Food stands (this item came with Island Paradise) - does it only work properly on resorts?
I used this item on other community lots by initially making the community lot a resort, placed the food stand, then changed the lot type to another community lot e.g. visitors allowed. However when doing a test drive of the lot, there is no interactions available for a sim to do, regardless of time of day. I appreciate I could use the food stands that came with Seasons but would prefer to use these ones.
Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.

There's a mod that will keep the tents open. It only needs to be in the Mods folder to work.

I don't know about the food stand. I've only used it on Resort lots.
Good luck.
I have never used mods in my game - so have a couple of questions:
1. Where do I save the zip files to/ how are they installed?
2. If I do install mod(s), am I still permitted to upload the world to the exchange?
Thank you again for any help you can offer.

2. The mods do not package nor upload with the world.
Does that mean, the permanent tents (if I download them) would not load or show in the world?
I am currently working on a world based on The Sims and the food stands from the resorts, resemble the food stands used in The Sims more closely than those of Seasons.
However, having to be practical for proper gameplay, I have now changed any food stands to the Seasons food stands.
You know what... I think someone uploaded the open tents on small lots so they can be placed and used without others having to use the mods. I can look for the links to the lots for you.
Then you don't have to worry about installing mods.
It's only a mod and it doesn't have to be installed by the people who download the world or the lot, it just allows the tents to be open without a Sim on the lot when building-They stay open and usable.

About the food stands you can easily make your own with a pair of counters and a food register
if you don´t want to place walls and roof you can use the roofy thing from IP MOOing it over the counters
(sorry that the pic doesn´t show propperly the roofy thing under the straw roof)
It will spawn a food register npc and sims will buy food and drinks there as they usually do.
Hope it helps you, happy simming
I can play at last TS2 TS3 and TS4 So great that toddlers are here!!!
Thank you so much for this idea to make my own food stands! This will mean I might be able to replicate them as close as possible to the actual item.
I wish I had thought of this myself!
Thank you so much Rflong7 for this and taking the time to look for it.
As a sign of my appreciation I would like to gift you a couple of items on your wish list. Your wish list has many items - any preference?
Thank you that's so nice you but you don't have to.
Alas, when testing my resorts, the food stands (previously working as a visitor that checked in) have the option of get food/drink but the attendant says something to a sim but no food or drink is given??
I gave funds to my sim to purchase the resort and under resort management, hired a couple of more staff and set the food stand to "high", so now a menu is available and drink or food given.
The buffet tables work fine.
I have tested all the resorts with a food stand (as a visitor) and none of them work although the option is available to request food/drink. All the guests are starving!
It is the Island food stand I selected for these lots. Is there any do's or don'ts for the placement of a food stand?
Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.
