Well, guys. I thought that moving to Moonlight Falls would fix my freezing problem, but my game is still doing it. I even removed a good portion of my Custom Content. I think what I am going to do is back up my files that I need and do a complete reinstall. Maybe it is time for one. I have tried everything else. I even went as far as to get rid of my Custom Content completely.

I haven't had time/haven't had the patience to try and fix the lag in my game, so I haven't played.
I've mostly just been making new sims and giving makeovers to old sims.

I did go in game once to see if maybe it would be good and work for me but it didn't. So because I was already in game I decided to quickly take some pics of Robyn and Asha :D
    Screenshot-638_zpsc05aa1f4.jpg"width=640"
I just realised that nursery needs some colour, it's so boring
    Screenshot-637_zps13cbe5d1.jpg"width=640"

Now I'll show you what else I've been doing.
I used to play a family in Riverview, they were the second family I ever had in the sims 3 and I loved them. But the town become unplayable and nothing I tried worked so I gave up on them and the save has been sitting there all this time. Since I haven't been playing my game I decided to go back to that family, save my favourites and give them makeovers. This is what they look like now
    Screenshot-629_zpsdd36f6ae.jpg"width=640"

Left to right- Scarlet, Lexi and Chloe.
Scarlet and Lexi are sisters (Scarlet is older) and Chloe is Lexi's best friend :D
I'm not sure what I'll do with them, but it was fun giving them makeovers.

Oh no! that's terrible. I'm sorry nothing has worked for you :( I really hope you can fix it *crosses fingers*

Achoo: Yeah, sometimes that does happen, and it's very very frustrating. Sadly, all I can do is tell you I know how that goes, and if it helps at all you can just say 'hey, I read it' on mine? :D It won't hurt my feelings.

I have had times when I typed a huge block of text with all my array of smiley faces that I probably overuse, but they are just so fun...I'm trying to cut back...trying...anyway, point is, after typing something for an hour or two, pressing the wrong button or, my internet will cut out randomly and mess me up. :D Sadly, other than copying the text to clipboard every time you do it (I really should do that every time and not just sometimes when I remember), I don't know what else could help. But, if it helps you feel better, I'm pretty sure most of us have done it before and feel your pain. ;)

I usually write my game updates and all comments in a notepad, then copy them to the forums. I've been burned by losing long posts too many time from my previous years working as a forum moderator for a game company.

I don't think you have to do a complete reinstall I recall someone saying of course back everything up, but I believe all you have to do is remove the sims 3 folder and a new one will generate giving you a fresh game, but you have to add back in the store folder etc of the ones you saved. I will go see if I can find where I read that just to be absolutely sure.

    Good luck.

Oops, I wish I would have read this because I just uninstalled all of my packs. :? Oh well. I managed to back up all of the important folders. There's no way I'm losing my current save or my downloads/mods. Maybe what I'm doing is a good thing. Maybe a reinstall will help my game, because I remember how fast it first ran when I installed it on this computer.

@wickichick Gavon what a fine looking man, too bad they won't be hooking up right now. I mean with their abilities and backgrounds of having relatives who were alive in that dark time and being rescued by Emmeline. It is always interesting to see how the past leads to the future. I mean if Gavon's grandfather hadn't been rescued by Emmeline she wouldn't exist. One act, one decision of any of us changes the course of history. It is mind blowing to think about it. Makes you wonder what our decisions including the small seemingly insignificant ones impact the future. We have no clue how it might someday unbeknownst to us, be the most important decision we ever made. It blows my mind, and it makes me think that maybe our decisions should have more thought and weight to them before making them. Like what I am going to have for dinner today  .

How neat Emmit wrote a journal for Mattie. I think it is important to have things like that if possible. I wrote a journal for the first 5 years of my son's life, but then at the time working, and being so overwhelmed I gave it up. I kind of wished I hadn't, and I did give it to my son about 5 years ago. He isn't a reader, but I know he has read some of it. Sadly I don't think it means as much to him as I had hoped it would. I am glad Mattie treasures it.

Like an impatient child she couldn't wait to read it. Tsk tsk Mattie, I am sure there was a reason Emmit asked you to finish the classes first. Well at least it doesn't appear the world will end since she has. Besides if she hadn't she wouldn't have been able to copy it and give it to Gavon telling about his past.

I can understand why Emmit would want to have his wife go by a different name. To have the power he had to invent the continuum and use it would have made his wife a potential target and could have endangered her. Mattie is better not having the name herself, as her family has had enough danger from the vampires.

One other note before I close this novel lol, I think we all can't imagine our dad's before we came to know them. It is hard to see our dad's as young scamps. My dad has told me stories when he was a young'un of how his friends in the course of play almost killed him (ie: tied him to a stake, put wood around him and lit it on fire) they were playing cowboys and Indians and guess who was the indian lol). He managed to stamp out the fire and get untied, the other time he was playing cops and robbers and guess who was the bad guy? lol They put a noose around his neck while he was standing on a chair, and were going to kick the chair out from under him, but luckily the mail man saw it and yelled at the kids to get him down. I can't imagine my dad being that dumb to let his friends do that. These were just two of the other stories of his reckless childhood, and I never knew my dad in my whole life to be reckless. So I know what you mean.

    Stupendous update.

    Pg. 121

@Samr883 Thanks you are too kind.

@Nik24X7 Well even a tiny update is a joy.

 Wow I didn't know Jin Zhen had what do you call it ESP? I thought when I saw the picture it was just a fluke lol, but holy cow I never thought it was a sign of bad things to come  .

Well Jin Zhen needs to be punished for painting that picture and having her father abducted. The aliens saw it and got the idea  .

I don't blame her for wanting to know who she came from. I hope her father is willing as it will open new wounds. Such an old person in a young body.

Love the update even though the abduction at first made me  and then :lol::lol::lol:

@Springfairy556 Yay I guess I am not the only one that likes drama and bad people. Everyone's games are so good, but the families are so loving, and their is evil, but it is outside the family not in, I feel almost like a monster lol, for having my families have so many controversies lol.

Can't wait to see more of what bad girl Rose will be doing next.

@Celiria I think he would have preferred to wait until the I do's were done lol, and then spring it on him, but he knew that he couldn't do that to Shrek. I bet now though he wishes he could have lol. Plus Shrek was never enamored of marrying Fiona, and he knew that Shrek if this marriage was to go forward had to know. He was afraid after Shrek told him about Fiona's argument with him that she was going to leave.

Thanks as always for following my stories. It means a lot.

@Katiardguez Thanks glad you found it interesting.

Hooray on your willingness to share your legacy. Can't wait. Love you avatar by the way. Is that you? She is really pretty.

@Nik24x7 Well to each his own. Cemeteries creep me out lol. There is nothing wrong with liking to go to cemeteries by the way. I know people who visit graves all the time. I guess it somehow makes you feel connected to a dearly departed. Not me though.

The reason I commented on his second wife, is because my brother's first wife died after only a few years of marriage and they had that special once in a lifetime love, but when she died he got remarried and he loves her, but you can tell he isn't the way he was with his first wife. He is very kind, but their marriage is just a typical marriage lol. Ten years after she died my mom asked him if he still thought of her and he said everyday more than several times a day as well. I always wondered not really having had the opportunity to get to know his second wife how it made her feel knowing how much he loved his first wife and she knows believe me. I think it would be hard to live in the shadow of a great love like that. Somehow I would think you would feel cheated somehow. Maybe not. Can't say as it hasn't happened to me lol.

    Pg. 122

@TadOlson Hey your house is in the shape of a "g" does that stand for my favorite football team the Green Bay Packers?:lol:

Glad to see they are making progress on the house.

Neat to see them doing other things for fun like those row boats.

Great view and way to get around. Maybe a little slower than cabs, and a little more strenuous but hey any way to save money is good.

    Great update.

@Zabeth0 I am glad you aren't going to further torture Rafael lol.
At least when it comes to the art scene that is. I don't know sometimes I think that being in the same place is a bad thing. I longed at one time for different scenery, and experiences, now not so much. I have gotten into a rut. I would never have traveled overseas not loving airplanes at all lol, so the most I would have done was go to all the different states here, and although I am sure some places would have been different enough to give me a little culture shock, it wouldn't be like a different country. I remember going to Washington D.C. when I was fresh out of high school, and although coming from a city setting, it wasn't near what D.C. was. The subways and the one escalator to the street that stretched about a half mile up,(wasn't a big fan on going on that one, but couldn't stay in the subway lol) and the congestion of the traffic. Wow I was blown away at the hustle and bustle. So that was kind of a culture shock and to have a friendly southern couple (couldn't miss their accent lol) come up to us and offer to sort of follow us to our destination as they overheard us saying we weren't sure which subway to take, was a shock. My friend and I looked at each other like ***** do we dare trust these people? I was seriously thinking what if they later found my dead body in the woods  I can't vouch for my friend, but she sure didn't look comfortable with their offer either. Finally realizing with all these people around we should be safe  ,we allowed them to usher us on the correct subway and sit by us. They told us where to get out, and we never saw them again. Frankly I was more than relieved when it was time to get off the subway. They were just too friendly for my taste and talked our ears off lol. I am from the great lakes where we are nice, but not that friendly. We need our space. If you are standing next to us there had better be at least a good arms length between us, or we will get weirded out lol.

Thanks I know and I agree ouch is the right word for what is happening to Shrek and it is bad enough for Fiona not even wanting to be in Shrek's house anymore and now to be slammed with this is going to be beyond ouch lol.

@wickichick "sniff sniff" The last day of school is always sad for most, I couldn't wait to get out ha ha ha. Anyhow Emmeline sure is a lovely witch and has taught those students well. I know she can teach them, but why not a vampuric? Is there another reason?

"Played like a beacon on my heart" It puts in my mind a grand lighthouse guiding ships to shore. I love lighthouses, and in a sense he rescued her heart from the hate and prejudice she carried toward vampires. The light in his heart guided her heart safe passage to the other side of compassion and love.

How terrible such enlightenment came to such a dark period. It is sad how only a few vampurics survived that time, but the best ones certainly made it.

Love and like you say a higher being gave her the strength to save them. So inspiring to her students showing them that love and compassion are important and can change people's lives forever. I mean there would have been no vampurics without Emmeline giving succor to James. None of those kids would have been there if Emmeline had done nothing. The vampires would have reigned supreme and ruled with evilness the whole world. That would have been a horrible existence for them all.

@Zabeth0 Well being she knew he was a witch and he told her he was when he didn't have to I wouldn't say he was being secretive. He just knew she should know. The fact that knowing the reaction he might get, he showed trust by telling her to begin with.

Wow being friendly is letting each other alone, I can identify with that. I can't blame Sun Young for wanting him to renounce his witchery. Anything we don't understand we fear.

Wow stop being a witch and you die? That is harsh. Wow so in other words you are a witch for life, and if you cure yourself, basically your life is shortened considerably. Ouch. Transferring inadvertently your power to the closest in proximity is terrible. What stops the evil witches from killing those who aren't as powerful though?

With allies like that, give me enemies any time lol.

 Child eaters? Now that conjures up some pretty vivid pics lol. Note to self "scour eyes later" lol. How complicated changing their personality, making them a witch again. A magical battery so to speak to recharge from lol that brings up a funny pic of his head being a battery and his arms being the charging cables  .

Good for Jake I can appreciate how much he loves his family. Not wanting to lose Sun Young, but willing to let her hate him and leave him instead of putting them in danger.

Sun has reason to be concerned as this as you say is not a typical conversation, and I know she is scared now. There is honesty, and there is too much information lol, knowing how much to tell and how much not to tell so as not to freak her out totally is the question.

    Great update.

As far as text heavy I don't mind, but even if I did, with my text heavy updates lol  I can't complain. Besides with my last update, your "text heavy" update is pretty not text heavy lol.

@Dragonrose69 I love how they can teach the bird to talk and evil talk at that.

It will be nice for Nicolai to have a workshop to get away from the growing family, and to work on his experiments.

Nicolai what a birthday present another child. Well you planned ahead and you have enough bedrooms whew!

Glad that Molly got to go out and splurge especially being pregnant. Pregnant women feel fat and ugly so a beauty treatment really helps them.

Amaryllis good girl. You need that education and you realize how important it is.

Cornelius still wants to be the baby of the family hanging out in a walker even though he can walk. When the new baby comes you will have to be the big brother.

No gotta have girls lol. j/k I prefer girls as there are so many more clothes options and hair for them.

    Cute update.

Yeah not to mention Shrek's life is in the balance not only his dad's. What a choice hey? Thanks for the comments.

@and-it-is-on Awww so sorry your game is so messed up. Robyn and Asha are super cute.

Well plain and simple is good. Sometimes children with lots of color can be overstimulated.

Love that outfit on Scarlet. Those girls are awesome.

@achoo89 I have done that more than I care to admit lol. That is why after two pages I press submit and then edit to add the rest. I have had at times 4 pages of comments written and poof one stupid click of the wrong button and goooneee. Talk about wanting to throw your computer out the window and bang your head on the desk until it bleeds lol.

    Pg. 123

@LunBeauty So sorry I posted it late  . Well if what you did worked I am glad sorry you had to reinstall.

    TadOlson: Great update!
wickichick: That was a very moving speech that Emmeline gave her students. I believe she definitely inspired them. Let's hope that they make something of themselves with all that they've learned.
Zabeth0: I do love how you put such an interesting touch on witches. Is there an elixir that can turn a normal human sim into a witch? I'd love to do it with Olivia. :)

    Dragonrose69: Aww, such a cute birdie! :D

and-it-is-on: Those are some cute pictures! You've reminded me that I need to start using poses in my game again as well. I mean, I downloaded a ton of them for story-telling purposes, but I rarely use them.

Jack got a promotion in the music career and he is at lvl 5 in his guitar skill. Maria got a promotion finally at the book store so she's now lvl 2. Bennett and Lucy became friends finally. Alex likes Bella or maybe it's the other way around. All of the teens and kids are doing well in school. Jack is improving his bot building skill, he's now lvl 4, and he's learned some new trait chips. The family got a hot tub and expanded their back yard a little bit (to fit the hot tub). Maria is doing well with her garden, she just got her first harvest of tomatoes and she started growing lettuce too. I still don't know what career I want Bennett to be in so he's still unemployed. Also I'm planning on having the family buy a home in OL soon. :)

    Hi!

I'm working on another large update but it's not ready yet. I have a few pictures to share with you for the time being.

    Screenshot-2751a_zps35f4463d.jpg

the Landgraab family has been primarily focused on Jin-Zhen and her birth family. Josephine didn't want Trip to feel left out or ignored. She wanted to give him a little one-on-one time. She decided to take him to the Dragon's Maw to do a little spelunking. Trip was excited to become an explorer!

    Screenshot-2760a_zps653a0de0.jpg

Just as they decided to enter the Dragon's Maw, the cave decided to belch out some steam. Was this a natural occurrence or were the gods sending them a message?

    Screenshot-2761a_zps380de620.jpg

The steam cloud grew larger. Trip was scared! Should they proceed with their plan? Was that wise?

    Screenshot-2768a_zps1fadefd2.jpg

And just as they were about to turn back, the steam cloud dissipated. They had passed the test and the Dragon's Maw would allow them to enter. What fun!

    * * *

Malcolm II knew that Jin-Zhen wanted to spend time with her birth father, Ho Sung Kim. He decided both families should meet for dim sum. it would be a perfect opportunity for Jin-Zhen to ask about her birth mother. Josephine told him about her conversation with Shui-Lian and wanted to keep a close eye on the situation while still keeping it friendly.

    Screenshot-2774a_zps8ec0e8bc.jpg

Jin-Zhen sat at the head of the table. She had a thousand questions to ask but didn't quite know where to start.

    Screenshot-2775a_zpse4871e5d.jpg

Malcolm II: Let's order some more food for the table. We'll eat family style. Jin-Zhen can practice using chopsticks. She doesn't quite have the hang of it yet.

Ho Sung: Please let me order. I think you'll enjoy the dishes I'll pick out. We can eat first and then discuss our families afterwards.

    To be continued . . .

    Best Regards,
    Nik

From page 117 (some of my last comments were already from past here)

wickichick/Zabeth - Still enjoying the stories (lol @ the stolen tree)

Baker - I think I missed out your story in my last comment, good read.

dreamerz - You're sims are pretty, I have a sim who also likes to garden naked.

Dragonrose - Cute sims, interesting names. :)

Springfairy - Your sim sounds very interesting, I had a similar thing happen with a burglar rather than a cop.

Here's some pictures of Kyle talking to his plants naked and crying over what I'm assuming is one of his dead plants.

LunBeaty: Aw...I hope it helps. I myself have never made it beyond the third generation of a family, but I hear other people can get ten generations out of it, so I really don't know what makes this happen.

Yes, an elixir called Witches Brew. In Jake's world that's a very stupid mistake for a human to make unless they are being protected by a witch they can actually trust, but in the game it's all easy and fun :D (As children they can't use magic though, they can talk about it, and they get little brooms with training wheels) Though I don't know what age they have to be for the elixir to be used on them, they don't actually get magic to cast until they are teens. (Then they have a pink magic bar, and can start playing with magic). :D

And-it-is-on: Lol, it has color, Asha! :D You have to be able to spot the toddler fast! :D

Oh, too cute, even thumb sucking...I'm assuming that's a pose.

Katiardguez: Not the window, though that would have been hilarious, as it would have seemed like he bricked the window up, with the way the walls snap back when the window's are moved...which would make him a pretty evil dude, really. :D A window box, I realize the pic is dark, sorry about that, but it's a box of roses in the window, cheap decoration, really, and he took one of them and left the other one, so it could be all asymmetrical. A thief so skilled they could steal windows would be amazing lol. Though then again, dude can steal trees lol, amazing has gotta be his first name. :D

Colorist: Lol, yeah, well, at least not in the art scene department. Lol, glad you caught that :D

Well, even without going overseas, there are different cultures in the US, even in your trip you got to see the difference of ideas between you and your friend, the southerners and the people who were bustling in DC (for whom the subway system is probably pretty blah, and something they are quite used to). While you all spoke the same language, you had different ideas about when to use it, and what it should sound like. :D The USA is actually a very large place when compared to the sizes of most countries in europe, and has a lot of different climates/geographies and regions that immigrants settled, with different ideas of how things should be done. Accents are a good way to see this, and how people pronounce or use some words other than others...for example, do you say soda or pop? (or both) Do you call it a coke even if it's another brand? Do you say pecan (pe-can) or (pe-cahn) and I think there was a third option I'm not remembering... stuff like that- and people will argue as though there is a "right" answer lol. :D

When you move around, you see that all this is arbitrary, but you might cling to one because you have an emotional bond with the place it came from, sort of like how people will defend their favorite band or sports team, even if they make crappy songs or lose or whatever, because there is an emotional connection. But even if you want change, you might not want everything to change, and it's just weird the things you miss. :D And you don't know what those things will be, because it really depends on how different things are where you end up. If I ran into someone who recognized me from elementary school, it'd shock me into silence for a moment, and then I'd have to figure out, which elementary school :D Moving around in different states, or even different areas of the same state, you'll see different grades classified as High school- some areas its 9,10,11, and 12, and some it's only 10-12, and some places have so few school aged kids they throw them all in the same school, because why pay for a whole new school for two students?

The evil witches actually do kill weaker witches, it's a quick way to get a little bit of power and stop someone who might one day challenge them- but if there is a stronger witch around, then they have to be careful, because that witch might not be okay with that. This is why Jake mentioned that if the boys were witches, he'd have to save them. (And why he really honestly hopes that none of his children are).

GBA: Ah, he can start learning songs from books soon. Ah, starter garden, tomatoes and lettuce. :D

Nik: Oh, Trip got a visit to the Dragon's Maw. (A Trip with his Ma! Yeah, I shouldn't do that but it was such a bad pun, I just had to go for it) :D It's quite an impressive location and I like how you captured the size of the thing by showing the scale all zoomed out like that. It has teeth bigger than a full grown woman! :D

Ah, yes, this does seem a bit of a tricky situation, I hope it doesn't cause trouble. :D

Samr: Uh, oh, it's a midnight garden buff (oh, I am horrible today...sorry guys) :D Yeah, they do cry over dead plants, it's quite silly, isn't it? :D But eventually they stop crying and throw them away. :D

OMG, how funny! I didn't even pick up on that myself. Thanks for mentioning it! :P

Truth be told, I had such a difficult time capturing the photos of the two families having brunch. Ho Sung Kim and Tang-Xian kept wanting to swim in the nearby reflection pond a.k.a. pool. I had to keep calling them back!

Anyone notice the absence of wickichick today? That is unusual. I know she is going to be having her tooth pulled tomorrow and was hoping she would be on so I could wish her well.

Poor dear well wickichick if you see this know that I will be thinking of you and praying for you.

I hope this cute picture will at least give you a little chuckle.

Yeah, I noticed it's been rather quiet in this thread today. I hope wickichick is doing well. I'm sure her tooth has been bothering her and she's probably getting ready for the extraction tomorrow. I hope she can get some rest tonight. I'll be thinking of her. Good luck, wickichick!

Hey Wiki, glad to see you still around :D

Here's a pic of my latest sim. He's one of my new favorites. I've made a live play involving him and his new mermaid (soon to be) girlfriend.

So I've been mostly lurking. I've been abstaining from playing my Bridgeport save until I save up enough to get the thing from the store I want (which will probably take...about three more weeks at this point?).

In the meantime, I've mostly been playing other games and trying to get out of my house more.

To wickichick: I hope it goes well, and I hope you recover all right.

I own the TS3 Store as of 12/11/16 (sort of. It's complicated)
